Yep, built that wall, nothing like stepping down into being a phiria state. Scared of everyone, bombing and attacking everyone. Happy Times! Meanwhile education, medical care cost breathtaking amounts of money. But all being all can't get medical treatment, but with my last gasp point to a wall. Good times?

I know this will turn into another partisan food-fight but keep in mind that the overall 2019 National Defense Authorization Act was $717 billion. The House passed this 359-54 and the senate 87-10.
I'm against the wall and declaring a national emergency but I'm not going to lose sleep over a little money shifted from one boondoggle to another.
Alex Einz
well done! btw, army has this little loophole called overspending... so 1 bil will become whatever is required.
Deadforgood
Could be part of the reason health care and education are luxuries goods instead of necessities...but that's ok, you don't care about the health and future of Americans, right? You also realize overspending by the military is one of America's biggest problems when it comes to debt and bankruptcy?

Funny news article last week was about Mexicans on the border are stealing the razor wire to secure their houses from criminals. According to the report, it is so common that Mexican police have no way to stop it. Over $20million worth.

About time someone in administration gave him his way so we can move on.

Soon, there won’t be any escape For Americans....

Looks like we’ll be getting the wall. MAGA!

Will Mexico be stumping up then, do you reckon?

Good to know that the Pentagon is at least $1b over-funded. Let's scratch that off next budget and give it to starving kids instead.

Sorry, Liberals have been in charge overwhelmingly of our education for almost 50 years and from the kids inability to think or spell makes me wonder what are liberals doing regarding education?
Most Americans are happy with their healthcare, so if the Democrats want to make huge gains, focus on the 30 million that don’t have healthcare and leave the rest of us alone.
With the growing threats of Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, I’d rather overspend and have The best military on the planet than having a weak and unprepared and not up to date one.
Toasted Heretic
Those who can afford it. But for those who didn't get all the breaks and money and contacts, there's deep unrest. Good luck with that.

Who needs congress to control spending when your party despises the constitution?

Trumps really having a good week
1/ After a wasted two years No Russian Collusion
2/ A certain Pornstars lawyer has now been charged with criminal offences
3/ Another $1billion for his wall on top of the $1.3 billion Congress has just approved
Things are starting to look like a 2020 Presidential win for Trump - Ladbrokes are currently offering $2.63 get early folks.

President Trump will get the priorities of the American people done, with or without the participation of an utterly anemic and useless congress, starting with border security.

“The Trump Wall” or “The Wall of Shame” initiative will be contested in court ... the current occupant of the White House in Washington, DC will not get his xenophobic barrier built.

But congress is powerless to stop this mentally ill excuse for a President. So much for democracy.

Hopefully they will release a list of the other projects being cancelled. I know in Arizona people are worried they will cancel the F-35 training expansion.
Check the news in your state to see which badly needed construction projects are being scrapped for Trump's imagiary invasion.

What a shame. All of that money for what everyone knows, deep down, is just a political stunt. Education? Improved infrastructure where people actually need it? Paying down the national debt [stop laughing]? The moon mission which Mike Pence is so eager to see before 2024? All would have been better uses of this money.
And Mexico was supposed to pay for this, but whatever, nothing matters anymore. The Toddler-in-Chief tweets, Fox News blasts an update, and the hordes follow along blindly.

I see someone here is well on their way to completing their Fascist-in-Training merit badge. Separation of powers? What's that? Clearly a Great Man such as Trump should not be constrained by such trifles, apparently.

Isn't that 20% of what Trump demanded? Trump remains a National Emergency.
Yeah. Trump's having to get it funded piecemeal, thanks to our do-nothing Congress.

I'm pissed about $717 billion! Cut THAT 10%, to start. The fact that the Pentagon feels $1B can be spared just shows how much waste there is.
How I miss the days of looking at facts BEFORE making decisions.
Miyam_Musashi
Fiscal hawk! Where were people like you when the previous fella pissed away $11 trillion in additional debt all in 8 years by himself?
bass4funk
Yup, I’d call that more than just an emergency as well as an invasion..

Hey fella! I'm a proud American here in Japan to do real business. Don't assume that people like me who are clear-eyed and are sick and tired of parasitic politicians gouging the public, fall into your concept of what a Trump supporter is.
At least this guy, Trump, for all his weaknesses is a self-made billionaire, doesn't take a salary, and has so far done many positive things for the American people.

as false as false can be. The man was literally born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and inherited every dime he has. Since then his growth of wealth barely outstrips the rate of inflation.

It's the Democrats who are trying to change the U.S. Constitution. Abandon the Electoral College, eliminate the U.S. Senate, abandon 1st Amendment protection for any group that doesn't support the Democrat's political agenda, overturn the 2nd Amendment, permit the murder of infants who managed to survive an abortion, etc..
American voters will soon decide if the Democrats who despise the U.S. Constitution should be elected/reelected to office.

What is a "phiria state"? Typo?
ClippetyClop
Bravo, you like your own country. What a surprise,
You mean like a president who appoints his own kids and business partners to government positions, bases his foregin policy on the people who invest in him, and conducts government business at enormous public expense at his own businesses?
Hilarious levels of self-deception. You really do believe everything you're told, don't you?

You could take all the money needed to build the entire wall from defense and it wouldn't put a dent in the $750 billion defense budget. I say have the military build the whole thing.

These days in some quarters it is surprising. You would be astonished at the number of Liberal Americans who feel that because it wasn’t perfect at its founding, America is fatally irredeemable and immoral at its core. Crazy isn’t it!
PTownsend
What I think is crazy is Americans who can't accept that in a free (supposedly) society individuals are free (great word) to believe whatever they want.
I think if you could come up with a measure along a spectrum showing any nation's beliefs ranging from 'I hate my country' to 'I love my country more than anything else' with all points in-between you'd find Americans are not that different from most other nations in terms of how they regard their country.
Odd that an individual's right to believe something different from other individuals is seen as 'crazy'.

Especially after spending two years claiming that they have seen evidence of collusion with Russians, but are still unable to provide proof of that collusion. People believe what they WANT to believe. Others discover that many of those people who cling to crazy ideas have just been lying to them.

"Everything you're told"? I wouldn't assume that "everything" means they believe you.
