Austin, 68, said he was fully vaccinated and received a booster in October.

The 3rd shot seems to have waned already.

Try a 4th perhaps?

Triple boosted. Positive for COVID anyway. This is becoming super common ratter than “rare” as previously claimed.

This pandemic is really getting on my nerves. We need a miracle.

Nobody said it was rare! We know this happens all the time!

ummm no…. They even said “very” rare.

“Risk of breakthrough infections remains very rare, 3 studies find”

tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms while quarantining at home.

mild symptoms.... think of the vaccine like a seat belt. Won't stop you crashing the car but will prevent serious injury.

This isn't newsworthy. It's like reporting somebody has a cold - COVID is not a threat if you are vaccinated and in otherwise decent health (i.e. not obese)

As I have realized many of the new cases are asymptomatics or with mild symptoms.

It's a good thing that he's fully vaccinated.

He's 68 and has to be around many people in his job capacity. So he might've got CoVid but the vaxxes are working. His symptoms are mild but the vaxxes have kept him from getting it worse.

here's to a speedy recovery, Lloyd Austin.

@mr Kipling

Superb analogy. Unfortunately many people would then say' I'm don't need no one telling me how to drive' ( double negative in purpose to hint at a lack of education )

Triple boosted.

Nope. He's had a single booster.

This is becoming super common ratter than “rare” as previously claimed.

Super common? Maybe because more and more people are getting vaccinated. It's still more common that unvaccinated are infected.

He's 68 and has to be around many people in his job capacity.

Not only him, but a lot of us and people that are even older have also taken the shot and still got the virus.

So he might've got CoVid but the vaxxes are working.

Apply that to the millions that have gotten this new variant that was inoculated, you are making a very arguable point, we don't need to panic basically.

His symptoms are mild but the vaxxes have kept him from getting it worse.

I hope so and think it will, now we can and should all relax.

but a lot of us and people that are even older have also taken the shot and still got the virus.

You took the shot and got the virus???

I hope so and think it will, now we can and should all relax.

We cannot relax at at least for some more time. Children are testing positive for Covid in large numbers.

So those of us who care for children need to ensure they are kept safe!

Since the mods deleted my comment pointing out disinformation, let me post correct information

The booster is effective and will keep people safe, so anyone who is eligible please go and get a booster!!!

The good news: Research is indeed showing that Omicron may be less likely to create illness severe enough to require hospitalization.

The bad news: It is also FAR more infectious than previous variants. If it turns out that it puts people in the hospital at half the rate of Delta, but infects people at 4 times the rate of delta, it will actually put more stress on health care facilities than Delta did.

So you still want to avoid catching it, and you still want to be vaccinated to the best level you can be.

Who cares.
