U.S. to send several thousand more troops to Mexico border

If this were the exigent threat Trunp and his ignorant followers think it is, why did Trump wait two years to send troops? Can you say, "manufactured outrage"?

We need a tally of how much this charade is costing US taxpayers on a daily basis. Add up all the border patrol, ICE, the military, Homeland Security, etc, etc.  How much are we paying for Trump's campaign ad for his made up emergency? Tax payers need to know.

What a horrible misuse of our military members - sending them away from their families again for nothing more than a political stunt.

All while doing duties that could be done by a civilian construction contractor. 

Officials said that the majority of the troops going to the border now will be combat engineers and support forces who will install the additional barriers. The expectation is that they will complete the job in a few months and then be able to go home.

This President hates our military - it shows in each and every thing he does; whether its insulting Gold Star families to the unnecessary and disrespectful firing of Gen Mattis.

I don't know that he hates them, I think he has just dehumanized them. They are a resource for him to use, a tool, not a group of humans with lives to be concerned about.

Caravan's have been coming through Mexico for years. Same thing happens every time. They arrive at the border. Apply for entry/asylum. Wait. Get in or get turned away. Those that get turned away try again, leave, or make a break for it. The majority of those that try to enter illegally, are apprehended. The majority that are here, are "visa-overstayers". The majority that crossed the border, came in through ports of entry. We have been in a steady decline of illegal immigration, yet it suddenly has become a crisis. So we send more U.S. military to the border, instead of training them to do their job because Trump says "ISIS is dead", "Russia and China are our friends", and "North Korea is GREAT people!". The real crisis is Trump's presidency. He's having a crisis in the oval office, indictments upon indictments, being called "Jeb" by Ann, hounded for his taxes by the dems, lost his shutdown war, probably not getting any from Melania, and to top it off, has to pay for his own McDonalds. Poor, little, Trump.

Well, I'd respectfully disagree - as someone who wore the uniform for 27 years, I've never seen a President so disrespectful to our military members.  His insults of Mr Kahn, Sen McCain, and Gen Mattis, fellow military heroes and Gold Star families we hold in high regard, was just like spitting in the face of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines. 

He certainly sees them as a tool to get what he wants, but I also think he has a strong dislike for them - because they are dedicated, truthful, honest, brave, have high moral values - essentially everything he is not.  I also think they remind him that he dodged the draft and was a coward when it came time for him to serve.

And did you hear Trump say at the rally that he was giving them a 10% raise that wasn't real? That's when I started to think Trump is the greatest troop troll ever.

my solution would be for the USA to annex a part of Mexico. From Tijuane to Cabo San Lucus to Puerto Penasco to Nogales. this would cut $1.5 billion off the fence.this area could become a special economic zone. Mexicans with permits can get jobs free from drug gangs, and after time, apply for US visas. American companies can benefit from cheap labour. america has the biggest army in the world. Nothing Mexico can do to stop annexation. Remember where Texas came from?

If you watched it you might learn something you didn't know before.

You can have the e wall with a physical barrier but putting up the e wall alone will do nothing. It's like OK I can see how many people are crossing the border. Doesn't help you stop them. The e wall is not going to work, it's a bunch of BS. When you have a caravan of eight or nine thousand people approaching the e wall is not going to stop them.

The Dems have made it abundantly clear: "We will stop Trump from securing the border. Yes, there are gaps in our border, come one, come all. Give us your tired, your poor, we'll be just as tired and poor once we get through with the economy along with every U.S. citizen."
