Finally some real good news! It’s a huge start.

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

"An additional $251 million was shifted from a yearslong project to destroy lethal chemical agents and chemical munitions in order to comply with the Chemical Weapons Convention. $344 million is being taken from a group of Air Force programs, where the Pentagon identified contract savings, and $224 million is being used from savings related to a military retirement system, the officials said. $78 million from the Coalition Support Fund, which is money used to reimburse coalition partners — mainly Pakistan — for logistical and military support for American military operations. $604 million, is from the Afghan Security Forces Fund, which keeps the Afghan army and other security forces afloat."

All for 80 miles of fence? Alrighty. At least the terrified old white Trump supporters will sleep easier at night.

Not Just the White ones, but the Hispanic, Black, young, old and Asian ones as well.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

Hey, as long as you're happy, screw rolling back sacrifices in Afghanistan, the readiness of the Air Force, logistical support from Pakistan, and getting rid of of chemical weapons.

You got 80 miles of shiny new fencing and your anxiety level is lower and that's definitely worth the trade off.

Hey, as long as you're happy, screw rolling back sacrifices in Afghanistan, the readiness of the Air Force, logistical support from Pakistan, and getting rid of of chemical weapons.

The last 8 years and what do we have to show for that region? At the same time with a smaller force we can continue to do the same thing and meet the same objective respectively.

You got 80 miles of shiny new fencing and your anxiety level is lower and that's definitely worth the trade off.

It’s definitely a better trade off.

Hey, as long as you're happy, screw rolling back sacrifices in Afghanistan, the readiness of the Air Force, logistical support from Pakistan, and getting rid of of chemical weapons.

It's amazing that Trumpophiles scream out of one side of their mouths that we need to support our allies in the fight on terror whilst cheering at funding for our allies being reduced out of the other side.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

The last 8 years and what do we have to show for that region?

These wars started longer than 8 years ago. I'm curious why we haven't accomplished anything in the past two years.

At the same time with a smaller force we can continue to do the same thing and meet the same objective respectively.

We can't do it with the force we have there now, but a smaller force will definitely be more effective. Uhhh . . . Yikes.

I support the sovereignty of the US as well as the security and safety of it. And we we still support our allies, its nothing like leaving them as we did the previous 8 years so that will never happen.

These wars started longer than 8 years ago. I'm curious why we haven't accomplished anything in the past two years.

Yes, but Obama wanted to shift the focus more on Afghanistan and relocate the troops to that country from Iraq and we have to show what for it?

We can't do it with the force we have there now, but a smaller force will definitely be more effective. Uhhh . . . Yikes.

We have the hardware.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

and $224 million is being used from savings related to a military retirement system

No one in the military will mind that, will they? Elections have consequences.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

No one in the military will mind that, will they? Elections have consequences.

Exactly, so why is it the Democrats still didn’t figure that out yet?

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

If these folks suddenly can produce $1.5B for the wall, I think it's time to cut their budget by $3B.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Not a great week for the democrats and what's left of their basement voter base.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Mexico, Mexico, this is Donald Trump, you know President of the US and author of "The Art of Losing $1 Billion"...

I made a promise during the election, I even said "mark my words, mark my words", that you would pay for the wall, so I need you to pay...

Yes, I know that if I had just put that $1 billion in a savings account in 1996 and just left it there I'd have more than enough money for the wall, even a little left over for a neon Trump sign on top...

You're making me look like a liar and a con-man, and now I'm going to have to take money from our troops that decreases their readiness and impacts their families...

Click....

Hello Mexico? Mexico?

You're making me look like a liar and a con-man, and now I'm going to have to take money from our troops that decreases their readiness and impacts their families...

Yes. As long as I can keep my promise, I’m all good. Lol

I support the sovereignty of the US as well as the security and safety of it. And we we still support our allies, its nothing like leaving them as we did the previous 8 years so that will never happen.

Trump has definitely screwed our allies in the past two years.

Yes, but Obama wanted to shift the focus more on Afghanistan and relocate the troops to that country from Iraq and we have to show what for it?

Obama hasn't been in office for over two years. What do we have to show for the previous two years under Donny?

We have the hardware.

Then why haven't we previously been successful?

Logic failures and Obama Obsession Disorder abound.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Promises made promises kept. Building the wall.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

No Mexico is not paying for the wall.

the promise was to build a wall, which liberals claimed wouid never happen. Yet it’s being built right in front of our eyes.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

the promise was to build a wall

Which he said Mexico would pay for. His fans were chanting it at rallies. It was part of the whole experience along with making whooping noises when he mentioned Elizabeth Warren.

It’s like you got a bike for Christmas and you thought Santa Claus paid for it. Once you find your father paid for it did you care?

No you appreciated it even more because you knew the effort made to get it. Same thing here, we appreciate that Trump didn’t just give up once he couldn’t get Mexico to pay for it right away.

He is building it for our safety with extra money he found in wasteful spending. He can always go back and talk to Mexico again once it’s built, action not excuses.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

It’s like you got a bike for Christmas and you thought Santa Claus paid for it. Once you find your father paid for it did you care?

Interesting analogy. Trump treated his base like children.

I think the analogy fails. It’s more like you find Santa didn’t bring the bike. You find your father paid for the bike using your money.

No way to treat children.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

I got a bike. NOW. The rest can be sorted out later as I enjoy having my bike.

Now consider this is not something as minor as a bike but the safety and security of our nation. It can definitely be sorted out later just needs to get done now.

Ohama was the one who treated everyone like children with his pious lecturing that he alone knows what’s best for us. Trump realizes we just want a wall and he gave it to us.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

And our citizens will be safe and our taxpayers won’t have to pay for 100,000 new illegals in our country every month. Win/win.

Our troops will be taken care of within the current and future military budget increase. I’m not mad about the Afghan security forces fund, they still have 3 times as much as Congress gave for the entire border security.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Trump said Mexico would pay for the wall. That is documented fact.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Yessssss! Screw Congress! Get the damn wall built already!

All for 80 miles of fence? Alrighty. At least the terrified old white Trump supporters will sleep easier at night.

There goes SuperLib implying Trump has only white support.

and $224 million is being used from savings related to a military retirement system

No one in the military will mind that, will they? Elections have consequences.

Trump has broad support in the military. Someone with a jet fighter avatar should know this.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

I got a bike. NOW. The rest can be sorted out later as I enjoy having my bike.

That line of thinking led to two wars paid for with loans during the last republican administration. Then you guys blamed that spending on the next guy.

And your team doesn’t like it when we point out how deplorable you are on fiscal matters. Maybe you guys should try not being deplorable if you don’t like it being pointed out.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The wall will not make people safer.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Trump also claimed there are 24 million illegal or undocumented and not 11 million which is actually about 10 million.

So zichi thinks there are only 10 million illegals in the U.S.

Even according to politifact - oh my...

A December 2018 DHS report estimated that there were 12 million immigrants in the country illegally in January 2015. The report acknowledged estimates from two other sources, Pew Research Center and the Center for Migration Studies.

https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2019/jan/28/donald-trump/fact-checking-donald-trumps-claim-cost-illegal-imm/

And that was Jan. 2015. Come on, zichi, you know deep down it's gotta be closer to 20 million if not more by now.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

The wall will not make people safer.

Yeah? Tell that to Border Patrol and victims of human traffickers and the families of U.S. citizens murdered by illegals.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Maybe Trump didn’t lose the $ 1 billion in the 80s, he just invested it and with his great business acumen turned it into $1.5 billion 30 years later.

He then donated it to Pentagon.......

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

The statement here is simply... "Why NOT?"

I do not think the people in the US really understand why are we spending Billions for those that have more often then not "betrayed" the US and where much their population supports and even contributes to Hamas and other so called "terrorist" organizations which oppose the US?

Really other than in a very few case have spending money have made true allies or have benefited the US other than those companies that go into those countries to do so called "help" in defense, in reconstruction

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

And our citizens will be safe and our taxpayers won’t have to pay for 100,000 new illegals in our country every month. Win/win.

How do the vast majority of undocumented immigrants enter the US? Hint: At places that won't be affected by a wall.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Yeah? Tell that to Border Patrol and victims of human traffickers and the families of U.S. citizens murdered by illegals.

Where do most undocumented immigrants enter the US?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Ohama was the one who treated everyone like children with his pious lecturing that he alone knows what’s best for us. Trump realizes we just want a wall and he gave it to us.

Hilarious, but unsurprising that conservatives felt like Obama was lecturing. Most people that lack the intellectual capacity to understand the speaker do feel as though they are being lectured to. Trump, however, packages his nonsense into tiny sound bites conservatives can understands.

Wasn't it Donny the one who said he along could fix the US?

You all didn't want a wall until Trump whipped up ignorance driven fear amongst his base, so there is no way he could have "realized" that's what you wanted.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

It’s like you got a bike for Christmas and you thought Santa Claus paid for it. Once you find your father paid for it did you care?

Horrible anology. Yes, you would care because you would then know Santa doesn't exist.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Yeah? Tell that to Border Patrol and victims of human traffickers and the families of U.S. citizens murdered by illegals.

Or children murdered by the caging. Or women sexually assaulted by the guards. Or those imprisoned by the so-called patriots.

Tear that wall down.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Ohama was the one who treated everyone like children with his pious lecturing that he alone knows what’s best for us.

Who?

Trump realizes we just want a wall and he gave it to us.

Who is "we"?
