If Religion was a private thing, not mixed up in government or politics we would see a lot less of these issues.

Just goes to show that any religion can be twisted for the justification of anything by sick individuals, and regardless of our beliefs we all suffer the same.

Racism is something civilized societies have taken steps to counter. Racism is a divisive and sometimes lethal idea. Religion is also a divisive and sometimes lethal idea.

We should work hard to discourage both racism and religion in decent societies.

Disagree. All Muslim Burmese are discriminated against, not just Rohingyas. Look at neighbouring Thailand and Malaysia, again a religious rather than racial thing. Not saying a world without religion would be at peace but it's fair to say most wars/disputes start and/or are further enhanced by religion (Sunni/Shiites, Jews/Muslims, pretty much all African conflicts and yes Rohingyas' situation in Burma).

Isnt it the other way around, there was a Muslim insurgent group attacking Buddhists until the Govt stepped in, and now he tables have turned, so Muslims cry foul. Unfortunately when one looks at their Religious beliefs, in combination with those insurgency attacks , and sees that their Religion calls for the killing of all non-Muslims, and those who dont act Muslim enough, then one does think maybe they should just simply relocate to a totally Muslim country and be happy there ?

The Independent Burma Human Right Networks (BHRN) was formed by former illegal Bengali migrant Kyaw Win now base in UK. This organization was not independent or neutral organization. That organization was part of Muslim terrorist organization that attacked Buddhist villages and murder innocent Buddhist, Hindu and as well as Muslim peoples in Rakhine state.

These burned down villages were torched by Bengali terrorists and the Bengali Muslim villagers themselves. They burn down the house before Burmese Army reached there and blame on Burmese Army for international pressure on Burmese Government.

Many Buddhist villages the Monasteries were burned down and the Pagodas and Buddha statues were destroyed by Bengali Muslim terrorists but the journalists from these international media organization do not bother to report it in their news paper and internet news website even though the photos, videos and news were available to all media organizations. Where’s their integrity and ethical standard?

Do you have any evidence that he was an illegal migrant? I've read he was born and brought up in Rangoon.

Eliminate racism, yes. Eliminate xenophobia, no, as there will always be prejudice. But a secular world would be based on reason and science, not on the the word of one so called "divine" book, so it would sure be more tolerant.

Nope. The Rohingya people have been persecuted, run out of their homes, tortured and murdered for decades. The sectarian violence against them is oft ignored so it's not surprising there's some confusion.

Yes, many rich illegal Bengali migrants bought fake Burmese national Identity and family registration form no.10 from corrupt immigration officers and some immigration officers are in prison now. If you have family registration form no. 10 regardless of fake or genuine and then you can move anywhere in Burma and it becoming legal citizen in somewhat because Burma doesn't have computer system and the authority can not check it. Only rely on chief immigration officer's sign and rubber stamp on paper. There's some peoples national ID were canceled and the immigration officers were in jail. However, authority didn't not go back to 2000 backward at the moment because it's very complicated and some peoples are left Burma like Kyaw Win. You can find Bengali peoples from Rakhine state who becoming Burmese citizen by bought family register form no.10 and ID in 30th street and surrounding area. The money can buy anything in Burma until 2016 and even the illegal Bengali migrant can elect to Parliament. One MP was canceled his position in Parliament because he didn't have valid Burmese national ID.

The first batch of the Bengali Muslim peoples were bought to Rakhine state by British Colony Government and the second batch was refugees during the East and West Pakistan civil war. The Bengali refugees won't go back to now Bangladesh after the war. Later peoples from Chittagong region illegally enter and settled in border area in Rakhine state.

The Chittagong Hill Tracts is acting as buffer zone between Rakhine state, Burma and Chittagong state, Bangladesh. Chittagong Hill Tracts, former territory of Rakhine Kingdom was state of Buddhist Rakhine and Buddhist Burmese descendants and Muslim can not move into Chittagonh Hill Tracts as original treaty. However, now Buddhist ethnic was only 30% of population of Chittagong Hill Tracts. There's actual ethnic cleansing was happening by UN Human Right High Commissioner Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein and generation of UN Chief has ignored. Buddhist life worth nothing for United Nation. Buddhist peoples have no voice in United Nation. Ban Ki-moon knew the Rohingya was not ethnic and they are illegal immigrant from Bangladesh but he blindly recognized those illegal migrant Bengali peoples as Rohingya ethnic.

As I said above, a secular system would be based on reason and science. These dictatorship are not.

On the contrary they are personality cults based around the "leader", or the "party", or other object of worship, therefore are not really "secular" but another form of religion. Same thing with North Korea's Kim dynasty and their "miracles".

Crime and abuse inside a secular state is not impossible, of course. People craving power and personal benefits come in all forms and shapes.

But still, democratic ideas like freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right to life and the pursuit of happiness, and ironically freedom of religion, are secular ideas. You will not find that in a religion.

So, yes, once again : a secular system would be better.
