And Peru is not the only country where politicians take kickbacks.

In Peru, you can impeach and remove Presidents if they commit wrongdoing??

That's really cool. The US should think about adopting a similar process.

So, impeach means something different in Peru/Spanish than in English?

Definition: to charge with a crime or misdemeanor

The US should think about adopting a similar process.

The US has a process. Impeach in the House, convict in the Senate. "Impeach" means to find reasonable cause for charges. Nothing more. It is not a finding of guilty.

Looks like the Peruvian Congress needs to remove the President before all their illegal activities are made public.

He argued that no fewer that 68 of the members of the 130-seat Congress seeking his impeachment themselves faced ongoing legal processes without being removed from office.

Politics in most of the Americas is a very dirty business. Honest leaders who can't be corrupted are very rare for most countries and quickly trapped in compromising positions by their enemies. Dirty leaders last longer, know they have to "get theirs" before everything comes out, and flee their country with their families forever.
