Damn! Pfizer is cleaning up!

10 ( +15 / -5 )

Yep. Round 2.

Now you will need a 2 vaccines, 2 shots each plus boosters.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

"Brought to you by Pfizer."

14 ( +18 / -4 )

How convenient. Ready to cash in?

How come Pfizer, Moderna, JJ already started developing omicron vaccine when scientists across the world are still in a process of collecting sufficient data and decoding the mutations.

How come Pfizer, Moderna, JJ already started developing omicron vaccine when scientists across the world are still in a process of collecting sufficient data and decoding the mutations.

Because they had enough data to create the vaccine. Which is very clearly proven by the existence of the vaccine. Your question makes no sense.

You are confusing two very different things.

One is to fully characterize the variant, see if there is any changes in the disease it produces and how it spreads, as well as the importance and effect of each of the mutations. This is something that is not done in days but weeks or even months.

The other is just to know the genetic sequence so it can be known by any of the experts everywhere in the world just following a link. That is something that can be done in a single day.

Synthesizing the DNA template only needs the sequence and a few extra hours. Having this DNA available means prototypes of the mRNA vaccine can be made for testing, even if the variant is still not fully understood yet. If it turns out the available vaccines can produce immunity that neutralizes this virus without problem it would be a small waste of money to do it so quickly, but if not that means not time was lost to begin working.

Ohh my... How about people who didn't take first 2 do they need 4 now?

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Ohh my... How about people who didn't take first 2 do they need 4 now?

No. That's not how boosters work.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

O I bet they are rubbing their greedy hands together and have mobilized the influencer army to shut down any online complaining.

Hopefully it will backfire on them with the omicron strain being so mild it doesn't need vaccines!

1 ( +6 / -5 )

If you are so upset with this company making money then buy shares!

2 ( +7 / -5 )

why i feel this may be not true?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

New mRNA vaccines can be made quickly, but each new version should be tested. A different mRNA sequence is introduced into a person's cells. New proteins will be produced and so we don't yet know their effect on the human body. Will they be more prone to causing blood clots, heart attacks, neurological problems... than current versions?

The guy in the picture is clearly concerned as he is "double masked".

"Pharmaceutical companies shouldn't make medicine" - extremely smart posters

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

It’s rather odd behavior to complain about fear mongering and then go on to make a bunch of wild claims to monger fear.

Don’t see the appeal myself.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

All under protection of their friends at the FDA.

The FDA wants 55 years to process FOI requests on the Pfizer mRNA vaccine, effectively bogging down the release of info that could show that the company has been less that straightforward with safety-related data.

Wonder why that could be? A huge volume of complaints regarding efficacy and adverse effects? If the FDA and Pfizer get their way, we may never know in our lifetime.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Pfizer to the rescue unless you are a poor 3rd world country that can't pay the exorbitant prices for the vaccine or meet the black mail demands for its supply...

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

VAERS is publicly available.

VAERS is publicly available.

Yep, and it's just the tip of the iceberg.

By the way, are you one of the people who dismisses VAERS registrations as bunkum anyway? Not pointing fingers, genuinely curious. Because there are a few here who discount VAERS as something that anyone can easily jump on to report an adverse event with no verification.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Definitely time to double up on my Pfizer shareholding.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

By the way, are you one of the people who dismisses VAERS registrations as bunkum anyway?

Some are, yes. "No side effects" being listed as a side effect thousands of times does not scream reliability to me.

But it is more reliable than vague conspiracy theory speculation about the FDA.

Then it's easy to screen those out and focus on the ones that do mention adverse effects and follow them up. Remember, these shots are still in the experimental stage.

Remember, these shots are still in the experimental stage.

This isn't true.

Pfizer already working on vaccine targeting Omicron: CEO:

Did Pfizer already know Omicron was coming before its emergence in S. Africa? It has started looking for new vaccine.

No point testing the current doses on Omicron, of course they won't work.

Strangely impossible world..

This isn't true.

Er, yes it is. At least until next year. Just because they've been released doesn't mean they stopped being experimental.

Er, yes it is. At least until next year. Just because they've been released doesn't mean they stopped being experimental.

Over seven billion doses used, I dont care what anyone else says, that means they are no longer 'experimental" and more "proven and widely used" the world over.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Still under Emergency use Authorization means still Experimental but used because its an emergency. No long term health data...so the 2 or 3 billion who have received them better hope the long term health data is good!

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Will they be more prone to causing blood clots, heart attacks, neurological problems... than current versions?

If infection with Omicron causes these problems with more frequency than the previous variants this would be a possibility, after all the viral infection produces a completely uncontrolled proliferation of the viral protein that causes this, if COVID by omicron have the same (still very high) rates of producing these problems then the vaccine can't produce them either.

By the way, there is no neurological problems (apart from the clotting) related to the vaccines, direct neurotoxicity is exclutively produced by the virus and its replication.

Wonder why that could be? A huge volume of complaints regarding efficacy and adverse effects? If the FDA and Pfizer get their way, we may never know in our lifetime.

There is no mystery there, approval processes for all pharmacological products are extremely voluminous and each step can require thousands over thousands of pages in reports, coupled with lack of personnel that can process the requests it means that the only two ways to deal with the unnecessarily general requests is to do it as the possible pace and take a lot of time or stop doing its function so all resources are consumed on releasing documents, the second option obviously is not feasible.

People that made the FOI could have avoided this by making specific requests to the specific documents they are interested in, but since it is just a fishing expedition without any clear objective they just asked for everything.

By the way, are you one of the people who dismisses VAERS registrations as bunkum anyway?

The problem with VAERS is not the database itself but the people that insist on misrepresenting it precisely in the way the same database says it can't be used in the front page. By design is an overgeneralized system with a very high incidence of false positive reports in order to pick up the few actual reports of importance. But people misleading others by saying every single report means something the vaccine has caused are the ones in the wrong.

Er, yes it is. At least until next year. Just because they've been released doesn't mean they stopped being experimental.

The Pfizer vaccines already recieved full FDA approval since August, which means it is not longer considered "experimental", in Japan they never entered that category.

Still under Emergency use Authorization means still Experimental but used because its an emergency.

The Pfizer vaccines is NOT under Emergency Use Authorization, why base your argument in false information so easily demonstrated as such? is it that you ran out of anything better?

0 ( +7 / -7 )

False information. This lacks substance and validity.

Anti-vaxxer: Very interesting. But have you considered the following counterpoint: nuh-uh.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

I'm with you @Express sister, Sadly, @prionking is still using the same arguments that he is TOTALLY unable to back up for an awful long time. If the US has approved the Pfizer vaccine then how on earth is it still experimental when it's the arms of so many people. If these people were in charge, Smallpox and TV would still be rampant. Seriously.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

The Pfizer vaccines is NOT under Emergency Use Authorization, why base your argument in false information so easily demonstrated as such? is it that you ran out of anything better?

As usual, you're obfuscating. The Comernity version is approved, but that's just recently. Most if not all of the Pfizer shots already delivered and injected have been the ones issued under the EUA.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I truly feel sorry for the antivaxers, not only their lives are more difficult because of the vaccine passes, they are also many times over more likely to die from covid compared to the vaccinated.

And the tragic part is, while many other people are literally dying to get the vaccine, they have access to vaccines but we're duped into not taking it.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Still under Emergency use Authorization means still Experimental but used because its an emergency.

Indeed, when recent FDA documents refer to the vaccine clinical trials, they state that they are ongoing, so I guess they still are experimental vaccines.

One thing I find strange though is how the FDA states that they approved the COMIRNATY (COVID-19 Vaccine, mRNA) for 16 year-olds and older but that the "EUA would remain in place for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for the previously-authorized indication and uses."

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Now now @prionking: You are now claiming a change in the ingredients in the time between the Pfizer vaccine being an EUA and actually being permitted to take a 'brand' name after full approval. Come on - pull the other one, and yes, I've researched this. Baseless claim.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

and now @RawBeer trying to pull the wool over our eyes. the EUA does indeed remain in place for cases where full approval has bot been granted. For example those under 16. Its very clearly laid out if you read it PROPERLY instead of cherry picking to suit your narrative!

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

You guess wrong. Grats.

I have bad news for you re: anti-vaxxers.

yep from creation to mandate in 100 days. that sounds safe. or not.
