Who are we to criticise what policies are installed in countries that aren't our own, however much our own consciences might be offended

In the present story it is not "we" who are criticising this alarming move - it is elected politicians in Duterte's own party. And they are being punished for merely expressing opposition. If The Philippines ever did have any semblance of democracy, let it be known it is now non-existent.
