Amnesty International in the Philippines said the closure order was an “outrageous attack” on media freedom and asked the government to immediately to bring the network back on air.

There's not enough info in the article to know what all is actually going on. But given how authoritarian Duterte is, it looks like he and his political supporters might be trying to take even stronger control for themselves.

Whenever in history has strong arm authoritarianism ever worked for the benefit of the majority of a nation's citizens. Whenever has restricting media worked for the benefit of the majority.
