Hopefully nothing worse happens, the evacuees are safe, and the dozens of thousands living nearby can quickly get back to their normal lives. Mt Taal is gorgeous. It's similar to Crater Lake in the US state of Oregon.

Rubbish. Totally unrelated in any way other than the calendar.

In a vulcanism light, the Ring of Fire, as it is known, may or may not be entering a phase of increased activity. Let's hope not.
