Always difficult to comment. Amidst the horrors perpetrated by all sides, one has to admit just the occasional sneaking admiration for Duterte's plain grit 'n guts.

What's that song that goes "crazy, crazy, crazy..."

Can probably change the words with the three following synonyms "Trump, Duterte, Kim Jong Un"

The man wants guts in his grits.

And what has this bravado you admire so much done for his country and people? His Death Squad has murdered innocent children and women. He "joked" his soldiers can even rape the women if they wish as they "cleanse" their country.

It's a war on the streets of butchers killing butchers and the innocents in the middle are suffering. How can you admire him?

The President uses very colorful language but i much doubt he would be a cannibal . He uses out outlandish language to make headlines in the press because most of the press dont care about those suffering from the mute and Isis and the various Religious few that when grouped together with overseas help have become a major headache for his government. A lot people dont realize this has been happening for centuries on and off in the Philippines and other countries of the world.

His stance on the drug supply and user problem has stopped it dead in its track

By coming down Massively heavily on users and sellers the drug industry has slowed down a lot due to fear where the law had not worked.

"I will eat your liver if you want me to. Give me salt and vinegar and I will eat it in front of you. I eat everything. I am not picky. I eat even what cannot be swallowed." ...... Duterte angrily cursed the militants. "Will we allow ourselves to be enslaved by these people? Son of a whore."

I'm starting to really like this guy.

If you want to know a bit of history about this guy, look up 'Davao death squads' and you'll get a good idea of what he is about. His methods are extreme, but his results are positive. I don't think he is bluffing. I reckon he would eat them given the chance. .

I imagine the menu for such a meal may look like this?

Starter

Finger food

Main

Oven cooked breast in a tongue sauce with liver

Dessert

Soylent Green Cubes

Drinks

'Blood'y Marys

Or is this Bad Taste?

Itadakimasu!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Surely that's haram.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

He's not Muslim so haram doesn't matter.

Many Philippinos I know have nothing but admiration for him, no matter what we may think.

Give em hell Duterte.

If they aren't stopped now, it's over.

I just raided my kitchen and threw away all my salt and vinegar.

He's not Muslim so haram doesn't matter.

Thanks for that. I had no idea.

The US and ISIS are somehow on the same side, BB?

Yes, I know where you are coming from, but that is stretching it too far, in fact plainly absurd, and you know it.

"Son of a whore."

Ironically, whenever Duterte uses this phrase it always gets me singing "Great King Rat" by Queen.

One faction has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group

sounds like sports organizations that put a Nike symbol on their shirts.

Yup, things sure are becoming better and more stable under the equally stable Duterte, right?

"I will eat your liver if you want me to. Give me salt and vinegar and I will eat it in front of you," Duterte said in a speech before local officials late Wednesday.

Give the man some fava beans and a nice chianti!

Man, ever since Duterte went anti-US he's had a huge ISIS problem.

Funny how that works.

ISIS? This is Abu Sayyaf - they're ISIS in name only, just because they called themselves allies of ISIS now. If Abu Sayyaf hadn't pledged allegiance to ISIS, Duterte would still have the exact same problem he has now - a problem that the Philippines has been having for decades, except without the name ISIS associated with it

That's like saying Afghanistan and Pakistan suddenly have an ISIS problem just because some Taliban pledged allegiance to ISIS. No, those are the same Taliban people who are just now calling themselves ISIS - the same Taliban problem that Afghanistan and Pakistan have always had

Man, ever since Duterte went anti-US, he's had a huge Abu Sayyaf problem - the same problem the Philippines has always had for a long time. Funny how that works

(And yes, the Philippines military and Abu Sayyaf have been fighting like this on-and-off for decades - ya guys just don't hear about it. Ya guys are only hearing about it now only because the ISIS name is involved - but this problem has always been there.)

Not a big fan of Duterte but I appreciate the way he expresses his feelings about that (nothing held back). These Islamic extremists beheaded innocent Vietnamese. Completely vile, sick, and disgusting and worthy of such a comment by Duterte.

People should know by now that Duterte is fond of using colorful languages just like Trump adores power handshakes!

Those who still takes his words literally like making the fish fat with the cadavers of criminals and throwing an addict out of a helicopter will now probably learn to laught at this latest liver and vinegar menu!

The only thing people didn't know is that this is the only president of the PH who is trying his best to make his country safe from the very rampant criminality like murders and rapes and face head on the evils of graft and corruption.

The PH is lucky to have him as their president now with the ongoing battle with the ISIS-Ranao in Marawi.

I'm sure many countries will now thank him for stopping the spread of ISIS ideology in the region,

Duterte brings back memories of Idi Amin.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Some peps equating Duterte to Idi Amin!

Harharharhar!

My friends from the PH who are now the hottest band in Naha are laughing so hard from such a very misinformed but nonetheless very arrogant bird that they have to call it a day and enjoy the best awamori that even a crow will envy!

Wow! Naha's answer to the Beatles like Duterte.

That should blow any criticism of him clean out of the water.

"sharp drop in his ratings in Mindanao, which he had placed under martial law"

Seems people don't like being placed under martial law

@Hiro S Nobumasa

Then you and your friend should find this quote hilarious.

"It's not for me. I tried human flesh and it's too salty for my taste." (Idi Amin)
