I will not listen to others. The Supreme Court, congress, they are not here

What a creep. Do the people of the Philippines really want another dictator? Here he is. And given his behavior, he's not going away unless there's a repeat of 1986.

Then again, Reagan only supported Marcos out of convenience, and then facilitated his ouster when the tide turned. Trump will not likely follow that tack. Trump actually likes Duterte's style. It's what he wishes he could be, were it not for those pesky divisions of power, dishonest liberal media, and witch-hunting Democrats.

We'll see what happens. Will the Trump administration continue to cozy up to Duterte as it is with the Saudi monarchy?

Trump might be too late. Putin's already been called. Duterte knows the tyrants to model his autocracy after!

this trend with Turkey and Philippines seems very worrying.

So people in the Philippines are ok with this guy being above the law? Better be careful what you wish for. If he can never be held to account by his own people then he is no different from Kim Jong Un or any other dictator.

Anyone spell "dictator"? But hey, he'll only let his men rape up to three women during the next murderous rampage, so no biggy if he thinks he's above the constitution.

The extremists in the Philippines are Abu Saayif, not ISIS.

Crush them now and erase any possibility of an Islamic militancy taking root.

That strategy really worked wonders for the Soviets in Afghanistan and Chechnya, didn't it.

I don't understand economics. They say the Philippines is growing strong economically yet it still has a stubbornly high, shockingly high, undiminished, poverty rate. Well...seems like a country with problems and a leader even more so.

I keep seeing dictator and thought people were asking for me, my mistake.   Seems like there is a lot of competition going on in the world for me now....

Putin, Duterte, Erdogan, Trump... Yeesh.

The extremists in the Philippines are Abu Saayif, not ISIS.

All factions of the Abu Sayyaf have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State and its Caliph, Abū Bakr al-Baghdadi. Abu Sayyaf senior leader Isnilon Hapilon has been designated by ISIS leadership in Syria as the leader of ISIS in the Philippines and he has led the expansion of Abu Sayyaf operations into Central Mindanao ( at the behest of ISIS leadership) with the intent of creating a Muslim Caliphate in the Philippines.

Beware Americans: This is the guy your President looks up to. The one who just a few days ago was joking about how many women his soldiers were allowed to rape. The one who enjoys murdering people.

A lot of the people outside dont realy know whats happening in the Philippines with this government As before their has been problems With the Muslim population in this region and never been realy stopped . All presidents of the Filipino people have tried where as Durante lives in the area ,has first hand knowledge of the problem so please let him deal with it . No group should hold any government any where to ransom like these rebels there and world wide . Especially where outside influence is supporting a continual heartache to the locals and officials with the odd visitor having their heads chopped off . In the word every one should be allowed to enjoy safety wherever they live .If money was not needed for These types of interventions could be used for all the poor could be looked after by creating business that they could work in for a better way of life
