I wonder how the White House will comment on Navalny.

My first reaction on reading the headline was “good” the second was “at least he now has a chance of surviving and will be treated at a competent and well equipped hospital by doctors who won’t be pressured for political reasons”.

What does it say about Putin that he is willing to kill so many of those whom he does not like?

Call me controversial, bit I think that makes him a murdering psychopath.

No doubt that the Kremlin murders those it opposes or believes have betrayed it. It makes it a very terrifying regime.

Putin wouldn't let him leave Russia unless he was positive that vegetable was Navalny's brain level until death.

Something smells rotten in Russia, again.

Does anyone think that your standard Russian in the street gets the same news we do?

Please do post some links supporting your assertion

You would just dismiss them out of hand calling them "not reputable" or something. I just find it incredible that you think Putin has no possible American counter part. History is full of people who murdered their way to the top. I suggest doing your own research and read some information from some people you may not like. Just the number of people dying around certain people should certainly give you some pause at least.

Trump will say he trusts Putin’s word that it wasn’t Putin.

Now imagine if I said "Please post some reputable links supporting your assertion that it WAS Putin". Welcome the world of people who have learned to read between the lines.

Putin and his murderous soviet ways never changed. He’ll do any and everything for power. How much blood does Putin have on his hands? He’s sick. In the meantime he’ll bring Russia down with him.

Saw something on TV-the Russian doctor claimed he was just suffering from low blood sugar.

And that's likely what a lot in Russia will believe.

Nothing new. That was his first career, long before he started in politics. Just like Trump's career was that of bankrupting companies. And Johnson was spliting his time between womanizing and inventing fake news. As if people expected the guys would change after being elected.

Does anyone think that your standard Russian in the street gets the same news we do?

In this very case Putinator WANTS the world to see, like in antique Greek theater the tyrans that were exhibiting the heads of enemies at the entrance of the city.

But usually, even in Russia, China, North Korea, they know as much as us (not that we know everything). Little people also know it's not their interest of bragging about knowing more than official news.

Exactly. And it matters not whether they live it die - the message is clear - mess with Putin or the Russian government and they will get you, anytime, any place, anywhere.

Interestingly I notice that the Putin fan club has been a bit quiet. Quite unlike after the Salisbury poisonings when they were on overdrive

The Russian dictator for life Putin is a murderous scumbag.

When world leaders order a murder, other world leaders don't do much about it. Khashoggi, Litvinenko, Politkovskaya are just some of the well-known names we have heard about recently, but there are world leaders who have killed thousands of people not in the public eye - offhand I'm thinking of the Philippines and N.Korea.

Which countries act against them as a result of those killings? They may speak out against them at most, but that's it. NK is sanctioned for other reasons, but not for having someone assassinated.

This is hilarious. Some of them are even able to understand English.

the meantime he’ll bring Russia down with him.

It's so touching to see the foreigners worry about Russia.

Poisons that kill were invented 2000 years ago.

I wondered even you were going to join the chat :)

It really doesn't matter whether they kill it not, it is the demonstration that they can. The dose was presumably measured to not kill, just send s message.

Unlike the failed assassination in Salisbury which was just Russian incompetence, but it still sent the same message. Mess with Russia and we will get you.

Obvious to all. And if Navalny survives Putin won't let him return home.

Trump is Putin's slave. What do you think he'll say about this? And even if he says something sympathethic about Navalny, it'll be another lie because Trashtrump can't be truthful in anything.
