So many great articles to read....

I would love to once again read the Alex Haley (author of "Roots") interview with the head of the American Nazi Party, George Lincoln Rockwell. It was great of Playboy to send an Afro-American to interview a white supremacist, and Rockwell was totally obnoxious. I recall during the interview Rockwell sang a song to the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentiers" that went "the Jews are through in 72, parlez-vous." Rockwell predicted 1972 would be the year he'd be elected president of the USA. The Jews were not through in 72, but Rockwell was through in August 1967, having been shot dead by one of his organization's own members. Those were the days, oh yes those were the days...

Hot damn, I found Playboy's entire Haley-Rockwell interview on line, and it's a classic.

Who cares. I would rather talk to real chicks rather than look at pictures of them.

Playboy also focused on artwork, clothing, and fashion, not just naked bodies. But the problem is that the hairstyles, nails, and bit of clothing the models wore will be terribly out of style. The hairstyles will be the biggest drawback to looking at all of the old images, I think. Even now, looking at a picture of a model (in clothes) from the 80s, or a movie from even 10 years ago... the fashion just looks so old that a good part of the entertainment factor is lost.

I always thought Penthouse had better "articles".

Who cares. Haley was a literary fraud.

Haley was a literary fraud.

The interview ran in '66, long before "Roots" appeared. That interview's a classic piece of Age of Aquarius reportage.
