So, Poland is now jumping into the fire.

Good! Look forward to seeing what the AFU can do with the artillery and the new fighter jets

Good job, Poland! They know what it is like to live under Russian domination, so they see the value in helping their neighbor. Thanks again, President Putin, for strengthening and reinvigorating NATO. Nobody is talking about disbanding NATO now, well except those who would like to see Russia win.

Exactly.

The central European nation experienced Russian invasions and occupations for centuries and still fears Russia despite being a NATO member.

This is the reason complaints about Ukraine having certain colored flags which are banned in Poland actually mean squat to the Polish with regards to the whole Russia-Ukraine situation.

Just this:

GREAT news!

Others will follow!

Glory to Ukraine!

Glory to the heroes!

Ukraine prevails!

Agree with most posters here.

Well done Poland!

Can't blame Poland for wanting to stop the Russian advance before it reaches their borders.

This latest escalation has no doubt been triggered because Putin's stepped in it again when he signed off on the downing of the US drone thus handing Ukraine's allies a perfect excuse to supply fighter jets. An own goal, innit?

Poland said Thursday it plans to give Ukraine about a dozen MiG-29 fighter jets

.

Once handed over they can go into combat as Ukraine pilots already fly them.

Unlike F16 and other NATO aircraft which would require training before handing over.

Ukraine rapidly becoming a junkyard for everyone's old weaponry.

Russia could always just go home if they don't want to contribute equipment and fertilizer. Ukraine will not give up. Also, Bakhmut holds on for at least another day.

Still can’t understand why Poland supports Ukraine. Ukraine massacred between 100,000 and 200,000 Poles while fighting for Nazi Germany, and a portion of western Ukraine actually belongs to Poland.

Ignoring the moral reprehensibility of invading a sovereign nation and murdering its innocent civilians in the streets, Poland knows that if Ukraine falls, Russia starts deciding who they are going for next.

They did it once, they'll do it again. This is why the world must quarantine Russia from the rest of humanity. Poland is sending Ukraine a vaccine.

You didn't learn your history lessons when you take side with France against Russia in the Napoleonic wars..

Better stay away from Putin's Russian history texts books! Why the Poles sided with Napoleon is a no brainer, given the Poles' bad, bad experience with the Russian bully and, Napoleon's march through their territory that was an offer they were in no position to refuse.

Because instead of dwelling on history, they look at who is perpetrating war crimes now: Russia.

I believe based on previous reporting in the defense press that these may not be the first four MiG-29s the Poles have given Ukraine. There was a previous report maybe two months ago of Poland shipping "parts" for MiGs that included wings and fuselages that were in fact complete MiG-29s. Slovak MiG-29s are also said to be in play for transfer.

The Polish MiGs have upgraded western avionics, cockpit displays and IFF (identification friend or foe, used to tell own forces your aircraft is not an enemy aircraft) so they will be an improvement over their own MiGs.

Note that majority of Poles... are for peace negotiation...

Ah, no. They are not. Poland is the third highest donor of weapons and money to Ukraine in this war. Support for Ukraine is very high in Poland.

Way to go, Poland!

Drive the invaders out!

Pretty simple. Read this. If you understand the ideology of Russkiy Mir you understand Poland's fears and why they support Ukraine so ardently.

They are in the last years of their functioning, but they are in good working condition

They are giving away jets, and they don't even try to credit themselves. Straightforward and humble people.

As opposed to other members who credit themselves, but don't live up to their words.
