Trump should build a wall of legislation high enough to deter casual and irresponsible handgun, and automatic assault weapon ownership. And he should be tougher than he is right now against the government.

I suspect that gang members were involved.

Keep the popcorn handy, by the end of this year there will have been many more shooting stories like this from the USA, they just can’t help themselves they have to gun each other down. No matter how many mass shootings, how many children sacrificed on the alter of gun ownership they are incapable of doing anything about it so eventually civilised people run out of sympathy and just have to let them get on with their favorite game.

Torrance has one of the largest Japanese communities in that State and on the West Coast, very odd for something like that to happen there, it’s a very clean, very, very low crime area. Shocking!

Yeah. Well, my daughter just got a job offer there. Let's bet that the weapon came from Nevada.

Again, again and again !!.. How many deaths need the stupid republican politicians and domestic terrorist of NRA In orden to start a decent gun control???

No, we already have enough laws on the Books, as to why the Socialist Uber liberal state of California doesn’t enforce them? And if the NRA are terrorists then the Democrat party is fascist.

Guns are and have always been only tools. A peculiar mindset directs how tools are used or misused. Remove the access to guns and other tools will be implemented. Knives, cars, fires, or ligatures will still be available. Identify the mindset problem and endeavor to correct the aberration. Anything else is much like giving out a pacifier.

it's really difficult in a brawl to pick up the nearest cars and throw them at each other tho...

'Ligatures will still be available.' Well, thats a relief, since that mainly refers to doctors stitching you up. But the parallel between threads and guns is nonsense. Do you really think coming to the bowling alley brawl with the shoelaces from your bowling shoes would be equivalent to having a gun? That is nuttier than the Big Lebowski.

Yes, this is a real big problem in Japan

And if the NRA are terrorists

You know what's a joke about the NRA? They don't allow guns at their functions. It's just a self serving cult.

Clearly more firearms is the answer.

Chip Star, don't you mean 'even' more firearms is the answer? ;-)

Why is this news? I thought it happened all the time, every day.

130 million people - 10 per year killed by guns versus 330 million people - 40,000 per year killed by guns. Sane and smart country versus crazy and stupid country. Almost no guns versus way too many guns. Millions who care a lot versus millions who don't care at all. Japan versus US.

It was a fight. Three men tried to break up the fight (huge melee) and a man entered with a gun and lit the place up. He is being hunted down now. This is not an NRA thing Kentarogaijin. This was a firearm in the hands of a sick person with no regard for life. Yes there are too many guns in the hands of reckless and even deranged people. Crazy people.

America has been a country and firearm culture from the birth of early America. Guns and America were born around the same time and grew up together. Like feuding cousins, their histories have been linked ever since. Often helpful in American history — and often harmful — the portable gun has been inarguably influential in the national direction. The American Revolution would not have been won without guns. Precious lives at numerous school shootings would not have been lost without guns. And somewhere in between those two truisms lies the truth about what Americans really feel about firearms. Tracing the relationship back to the very first gun on American shores is an inexact genealogical pursuit, but historians have some ideas. And when it comes to the endless debates over the worth or the wickedness of guns in America, learning about the past might enlighten us about the present.

Want to stop mass shottings? Here is how.
