C'mon USA get your house in order.

I guess ‘challenged’ doesn’t even nearly fit. lol
NOMINATION
California last week after 2 mass shootings- Blame the guns
Florida after this shooting- Blame the right
Usual suspects about to drop "knowledge" in 3....2...1....

Did the shooter have a permit?

And so these pathetic gun-loving fascist clowns of the GOP want to further relax the gun laws in Florida so that more people have guns, without a license, background checkings or training???..
Seriously, is this the USA that boasts so much of being modern, civilized and first world??, because it looks more like a Central African banana republic full of crazy people with AK47s..
wallace
Seriously, the GOP wants to reduce gun laws.
Another day, another mass shooting. So many in the first month of the new year.
Morons and guns.
wallace
They use to say the sidewalks of America are paved with gold but are actually paved with more than 400 million guns, many of them illegal. You can buy a gun on the streets for $50.
Bob Fosse
Florida GoP are trying to remove the need for permits. You commented on that very story this morning.
Do you think permits are necessary?
No. Blame the guns. Most Americans don’t have or want one.

Everytime I hear about a mass shooting in america, two thoughts/questions come to...1. When will be the next mass shooting? , and 2. How many are going to get killed or injured?, america seems incapable of change when it comes to guns. Sad really.

"I have never worked an event where this many people were shot at one time, ever,”
Does this mean that at all of the prior events, people get shot, but it has always been limited to less than 10 people?

I'm sure getting rid of any and all gun regulations in Florida would prevent shootings like this. /s

Having a dig at partisanship while engaging in partisanship.
How very intelligent and useful.
The 3..2…1 thing is getting a bit boring now.

In the USA, mass shootings come along quicker than buses.

Gun laws sure working out for California, New York and Illinois. Luckily I studied Geography in Elementary School because if you were my teacher, I'd think the U.S. only had 2 States: Florida and Texas.

Another mass shooting in the USA! WHAT A SHOCK!

All manufactured guns are legal at the source. If all Americans have the right to own a gun then none are illegal.

It's your question--what do you think, are permits necessary?

Personally I don't care as I don't live in the US anymore and most of my family lives in Canada, BUT I personally believe that the US could be a truly wonderful place to live if they just got good public healthcare and proper gun control. My dad was a hunter and it was his passion. I grew up hunting with him. I have no problem with civilians owning hunting rifles and if in a rural area 6 shooters. But all that other crap should be banned and the bullets no longer manufactured.
I'm sure there are those here who will disagree with me and that's ok. I don't have a dog in the fight so to speak. Just giving my 2 cents. (actually make them 10 cents now due to inflation)
Bob Fosse
Of course. Your turn.

Lol this hilariously bad logic. You might as well get rid of DUI lies, because people ignore those too.
No, here's the thing: loosening gun laws will allow more guns out on the streets, and we will see yet more shootings.
wallace
Guns need to be more difficult to obtain not easier.

The GOP is financed by the NRA.
In the nearly 10 years since the Sandy Hook shooting, the NRA has spent more than $100 million to help elect Republicans who will support their extreme agenda, including Donald Trump.
“For instance, in 2020, the NRA alone spent over $12 million campaigning against Biden and another $4.5 million in favor of Donald Trump.”

People in the US on nonimmigrant visas, such as if you were to ever visit, are prohibited from owning firearms, rainman.

Florida...
Where they welcome Jose Bolsonaro but shun Mickey Mouse...
Where they give everyone a gun but deny children an education and women control over their own bodies...
Where Florida taxpayer money is used to send legal asylum seekers from Texas to Massachusetts...in the winter....in T-Shirts...
And home of the largest classified document storage facility (unauthorized) outside Washington DC...

It always astounds me, as reflected in many of the comments posted on stories such as this, how unwilling so many people are to actually blame the shooter.
They blame the gun. They blame Republicans. They blame racism. They blame Hollywood because of its violent movies. (I'm no Hollywood fan, but they're not to blame here.)
How about actually blaming the person or persons who pulled the trigger? Why does that seem so difficult these days?
Then there's the added factor of drugs being involved in this Florida mass shooting. Drug-dealing and drug-trafficking are factors in LOTS of shootings.
But nah, let's forget about that and blame the gun.
And let's not forget to exploit it politically as well, using the deaths and woundings to cast our political opponents as evil, horrible people -- even though they weren't actually the ones who pulled the trigger.

Yes!
Libs think it's not the majority of Americans.
Yes.
I'm sure a few, particularly the ones whose constituents support the NRA, me included.

Taylor described the neighborhood as “challenged” and said the police had focused a lot of attention on the area in recent years.
Guess this is what Tupac Shakur's song Pain meant when he sang -
My city's full of gang bangers and drive by's.

Jose Bolsonaro has applied for an extended tourist visa and living in a Florida holiday let won't be able to buy a gun.

Harvard Medical School researchers found that gun violence costs the U.S. some $557 billion annually or 2.6% of the gross domestic product.

I have no wish to own a firearm in any country. None of my family does. Learned about guns when I served in the RN, and that was enough for me.
EvilBuddha
The GOP is financed by the NRA
True gun lovers will understand that NRA has now become corrupt and is too busy with infighting. This has given the gun control lobby an opening to set the narrative and trample upon the freedoms of the Americans.
However, going forward there are other organizations like the National Association for Gun Rights or the Gun Owners Association who will take up the responsibility to keep America free and strong.

Mass shootings and mass murders of even school children are major problems that not enough Americans want to resolve.
Eastman
maybe its abt time to bring your army from abroad so they can restore order, peace and safety for US citizens instead of ignition of new conflicts in foreign countries???
just one easy thought...
funkymofo
And the solution is… less permits, more guns!
bass4funk
Problems that are easy solvable, and I agree many should be addressed, but not the way the Dems want and if they start to ramble about the second amendment it would definitely be a non-starter.
RKL

Maybe criminal behavior is to blame for the shooting?

But wait, were the victims subject to the woke lib socialist mind virus?
Were they being taught critical race theory in African American studies courses?
Because according the Gov DeSantis and 5he Republicans those are the key issues affecting the livelihood of Floridians.
If not, thoughts and prayers as always.
Hakman
But let's not factor that into this, right? Let's not acknowledge that a great many shootings in America involve drugs and drug-dealing.
And for the love of God in Heaven, let's not ever, ever, ever blame the person who actually pulled the trigger. (Responsibility for one's own actions? Get serious!)
Nope, let's go straight to blaming the gun.
Oh, and Republicans too.
Can't let an incident like this go without trying to score political points with it -- that's the "progressive" way.

Going out on a limb, but the point is essentially:
a great many shootings in America involve drugs and drug-dealing.

Where were all the good guys with the guns?
I’m sure if there were only a few gun-loving patriots in the crowd…..
There are a feces-ton of mass killings in America. Some of them are gang-bangers. Some are Islamic terrorists. Some are conspiracy goobers, and others dead-Enders bitter at life. Some are disgruntled workers. Some are left-wing nut jobs, others right-wing nut-jobs. Others are just mentally ill or delusional.
The one thing the almost all have in common is easy access to firearms in a society that is so deluded with fear of the “other” that it seriously considers permitless carry and almost limitless availability of assault weapons.
It is, in a word, insane.
bass4funk
Wish it were a virus, easily curable.
They already teach it, almost every school.
Yup, that’s why the guy is a rock star. He’s basically Trump without the political baggage.

Hate to disappoint ‘yall, but Lakeland Florida is bumpkin central.
This was some punk with a bone to pick, nothing more.
Yes, the only way to accomplish their goal was a gun, no doubt
