2AM, machine guns, felons out on early release. Doesn't take a genius.
Gang rivals or rival gangs?
Mr Kipling
Gangs? Which gangs? Why are they in gangs? Not that ugly elephant in the room again....

Being soft on hardened criminals is not a sustainable strategy. California is one of the worst about this.

Naturally.

Nothing good happens after midnight.
The one time I visited San Francisco, I was in bed well before midnight, lol.

Jeez, the quality of the reporting and the interpretation (twisting) of facts is hard to stomach, on top of this meaningless crime.

I like pitball thinking. Stay off the streets and keep it in the hotel room.

Which is why the politicians immediately start mouthing off about gun control etc. Much easier than trying to fix the causes of crime and going after actual criminals.
Bob Fosse
Wow, same story for 5 days in a row but those who said it would disappear have disappeared. What a turn up.

Criminals. People doing crime. Doesn’t matter what colour they are. Criminals. Doing crime. Criminals with guns. Any criminals with guns. Criminals of any colour.
The original poster was quite clear. Keep your agenda to yourself. Thank you.

Criminals come in all colors, crime is crime it doesn't discriminate nor does death!

So what you’re saying is, we ought to be spending more money on social services, mental health facilities, early intervention programs, better education, job placement programs, affordable housing, racial sensitivity training, and community-based (rather than militarized) policing?
I dunno man. You might have to pay more in… T A X E S

The real solution is thoughts and prayers. So many thoughts and prayers.

If firearms weren't so easy to obtain, along with kits to convert some of them to full automatic weapons such as one of the weapons used in this mass murder, the gangs would have to fight it out with knives, brass knuckles and shovels with sharpened blades like they did in the past. You wouldn't have innocent bystanders killed or injured in a spray of automatic weapon fire, just a bunch of bloody and bruised gang members to scrape up afterwards.

Blame the weapons for the violence!
Peter Neil
Crime statistics directly from the FBI are not allowed. Putin would be proud.

I’m wondering where the NRA are on this? Where’s the push to arm people in the inner city? Maybe they ought to ask Ollie North back. If he could get guns for Central American death squads, making sure everyone in every inner-city is strapped should be a cinch.

The NRA does not push to arm anyone. It does promote Constitutional rights to possess firearms, and only by legal means.
If anyone here thinks the problem is a gun, I would be interested in hearing how the people pulling the trigger don't deserve all the blame.

That's a false dichotomy. It isn't either the person with the gun or the gun's fault. The person with the gun is to blame and the gun has enabled a person great power in wielding death. You will find that societies who have sensible gun control laws, also have lower homicide rates.

That might be one use ‘once’ all the weapons are seized @zichi 7:39am.
So, what’s Your plan for the problem of the guns already in the communities?
Mr Kipling
Bob Fosse.....
But it does matter if you really want to end the gun violence. Black Americans are 10 times more likely to killed by a gun and 18 times the firearm injuries of whites. This is the problem, white people have equal access to guns. Why are young black men killing each other at such rates?
Could it be drugs, gangs, poverty, opportunity, education, environment, discrimination, racism....?
Maybe the solution is too difficult so best to just build more prisons and blame the guns?
douglas snyde
Californian firearm laws are stricter than those in Switzerland funnily enough.
