The guy was a complete thug with a long record that including intimidating witnesses.

But, hey, any excuse to rob, burn, beat and murder in the name of "Black Lives Matter." As usual,no mention that innocent white people are being singled out by thugs because of their color. We are just supposed to pretend it's all a one-way street, only whites are racists, and only cops are bad. It's no wonder Joe Voter is angry.

“My son is gone due to the police killing my son”

No. Your son is gone due to him being a thug.

This is a legitimate question - can someone tell me why "the community" seems to feel the need to always resist arrest in confrontations that turn deadly?

Do they feel that law enforcement has no authority over them, or that if they run away or resist arrest that they will be excused?

10 ( +11 / -1 )

It came out that the cop that shot the perpetrator is black as well. So now we have black people in Milwaukee rioting and seeking out and attacking white people as a result. Black Lives Matter is involved heavily in these "peaceful" protests. This is craziness and makes me glad I am living in Japan at this time. Things in the United States are getting out of control.

There is the video from the officers chest camera which shows the young man with a pistol in his hand.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

“It was in his hand. He was raising up with it,” the chief said. He said it was unclear how many rounds the officer fired.

Split second decision. The officers adrenaline was pumping, prob fired 5-6 rounds. The body cam vid and the fact that this thug was armed in the 1st place & did not comply will exonerate the police officer.

We are not being given any of the real story here

A seasoned criminal, who was armed, has been killed by an officer of the law. There must be law & order. There's ur story.

Go to YouTube and search "Milwaulkee beat whites" for lots of raw video of "protesters" specifically seeking out whites to beat. This in protest to an ARMED thug taken out by police. Folks, if officials won't protect us from this savage anti-white racism it's time to DIVEST from these areas. Don't travel there, don't spend your money there, consider them no-go zones. For your own safety.

Thats exactly what happened in Detroit. The white population retreated out of the city and left it to a mostly African-American population. In half a century Detroit went from the wealthiest city in the United States to a bankrupt s***hole.

Why is a black man who carries a gun, dear right wing nuts, a "thug" but when a white man does it, he is a patriot excercising his second amendment right? Answer that?

Because when an armed (no matter what color) person, with a prior criminal record, is uncooperative with police -they're thugs. How hard is it to "freeze" and "drop the weapon" comply with lawful orders from officers?

Exercising ur 2nd amendment on your own private property is lawful. Carrying (exposed) is lawful too, in some states. But when you carry a firearm in your waistline or conceal it with bad intentions, then your a thug.

Look at any jail in the US and there will be a large number of African Americans! Why? Well, look at the pop culture, videos and music, listen to the lyrics that glamorize the 'gangsta' culture.

Many black Americans think that joining a gang and dealing drugs is what they are 'supposed' to do.....

6 ( +6 / -0 )

To always feel a sense of entitlement where without toil or effort , life is possible? Is this the curse of the black man?

This may be the curse of "some" or "many" or "several" etc., black men. However, it's not the curse of "all" black men. I really hate it when a whole race is painted with a broad brush because of the actions of "some" or "many" of that race.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Strangerland: "Not at the cost of the lives of the people they have volunteered to protect."

In this case, and it's very clear in the article, the young man had a gun in his hand, as is clear from the video. The young man, not that the officer would have known it at the time, had a history of violence and misdemeanors, and had also shot someone before. Chest camera from the officer shows a gun; what else do you think the officer could have done in this case? I agree with you in general that there are some trigger-happy police out there, and in some cases they are no better, and much worse, than the thugs they purport to be protecting against, but in this case it's pretty clear the officer was not in the wrong.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

black thug with a gun shot by a black cop whereupon so-called "community leaders" like Black Lives Matter" incite violence where white people are singled out and beaten.

But the regressive left apologists will continue to blame white America for the sad state of affairs.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

bullets in gun before minus bullets in gun after= shots fired by officer. We are not being given any of the real story here. doesnt matter how many shots are fired, if you pull a gun on a cop, the first bullet that comes out of their guns should be a kill shot. Cops have families also and they deserve to go home to see them when theyve done their jobs.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Not at the cost of the lives of the people they have volunteered to protect.

"To protect and serve", not "To protect and serve ourselves".

Police have a duty to the taxpayers to do their job correctly, and that means in this case to be the one to come home alive. The taxpayers of Milwaukee have paid a significant investment in this cops training, which includes him being taught the right to defend himself. To just have him get shot for the "benefit of the doubt" so that some people will not be upset is ridiculous at best. He has a duty to return home. Just as he has a duty to act in a manner that does not bring discredit to his city and department. Those who do need to be dealt with. But, you are fleeing after a person, and they turn around with a gun in their hands, your first priority is to save yourself. We talk about what happens after these things and lets take a look.

The guy had a long criminal record, maybe the cop didn't know it at the time but that still means that this guy was trouble. The suspect had a weapon with 23 rounds loaded, that's more than what the cop was loaded with. So you want to be the one to take a chance on being out gunned?

What does burning your own community solve. @ Strangeland are you willing to get a loan from a bank, invest in a business in this area, and watch it go up in smoke because some people are upset about a known criminal in the act of a crime getting killed? The same guy who was charged with intimidating a witness before. But, if you are, I guess forking over the loan payments on your burned out business is well worth the price of you giving back (that's being sarcastic). Burning down ones home does not bring any sympathy to your cause.

Why is a black man who carries a gun, dear right wing nuts, a "thug" but when a white man does it, he is a patriot excercising his second amendment right?

Maybe because the black man in this case actually is a thug? That's a definition based on behavior, not simply on whether someone is carrying a gun.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

It does seem like the cops did their jobs in this case. Activists would be wise not to hitch their wagons to this, those rioting are probably just doing it because they can.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I was looking at some You Tube video of the violence in Milwaukee. Angry Blacks calling out openly to attack Whites. Crazy.

Perhaps the mayor should call Al Sharpton, MLK Jr, Michelle Obama and other Black leaders to come to Milwaukee. Show the protesters that violence is not the way. The Milwaukee PD has shown great restraint. Btw, why are they so pissed-off? The officer who shot the thug was Black, not white.

I was looking at some You Tube video of the violence in Milwaukee. Angry Blacks calling out openly to attack Whites. Crazy. yet it was a black officer that shot him . facepalm

“My son is gone due to the police killing my son,” Marilyn Haynes told the Journal Sentinel. “I am lost.”

From the Daily Mail (UK) they also quoted the father as saying that his son's death is his (the father's fault). His reasons were that he (the father) just got out of jail 2 months ago, and he admits that he presented a bad role model to his son on how to live his life, going in and out of jail and living that type of life that wound up getting him shot.

Somewhat sad that as an American I have to go to a British newspaper to get some objective journalism rather than only getting part of the story from the American press.

The cop who shot him was Black, so I don't see why the BLM and the others are blaming whites. This guy has had a long history of intimidation of witnesses and other crimes, yet we are supposed to rally around his death as being a statement against police violence, I don't think so. You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes, and this guy got his prize by being a felon with a gun, running away from police, and pointing a weapon at them.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I'm sure we will soon learn how he was a model citizen, perhaps helping blind kids learn braille in his spare time....

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Glad to see law enforcement doing it's job. As I mentioned earlier, why stick up for stupid people who do stupid things?

As I said, thug life makes things more miserable than necessary, as they would prefer to turn a peaceful protest into a riot. Once a "protester" starts shooting, looting, vandalizing... they're no longer a "protester" but a criminal who is breaking the law.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

No. Police have a duty to protect the public, even if that means not coming home alive. and what do you think cops are, theyre police officers and a member on the public who protect the public. They put there lives on the line doing that so most certainly have the right more so than others to ensure they get to home and their fellow officers get to go home to their families ALIVE. Criminals dont get to dictate who should have the right to live and who should sacrifice their lives.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Which is entirely reasonable, except when coming home alive is a result of killing innocent unarmed individuals. but the individual in this situation wasn't unarmed he had a gun in his hand and was turning towards the cop. If he was unarmed then that's an entirely different situation, they could have probably just tased him instead.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

what truth is that, that the black guy in this story was shot by a black police officer because he had a gun in his hand and was moving to face the cop that shot him. And now there are riots urging violence against white people. All the while protesting police brutality. Thats the truth Im getting from this article unless somebodies lying!?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I believe Toshiyori's comment is spot on. I am not one to give thumbs up or down for comments but his deserves a thumbs up as it is relevant to this discussion and 100% true.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Not at the cost of the lives of the people they have volunteered to protect."To protect and serve", not "To protect and serve ourselves". So by your logic police should be constrained and not try and kill somebody that is trying to kill them!? Do you think cops are trying to shoot somebody in the leg to incapacitate him! You need to shoot them in the torso so they cant point the weapon towards you, unfortunately many of these shots are fatal. when somebody pulls a gun on you there's a very high chance they intend to kill you, holding back will probably mean a dead cop. Since when does the rights of criminals outweigh the rights of law enforcing cops! Ive never been in a shootout , but ive shot at moving targets before and a leg/arm/head shot is very difficult to do compared to a torso shot.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

there is everything wrong with the mindset that a cop should be willing to lay down his life , even if his life in danger by a criminal. If a person or criminal is unarmed and he is killed by excessive force then fine, cops should be prosecuted like anybody else. But to insinuate that a cop shouldn't use lethal force even if his life is in danger is just plain stupidiy, if those rules were applied there wouldn't be many cops alive to do the job of protecting the law abiding public.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I think "He had a gun!" is the most overused excuse by the police nowadays. I'm not saying it isn't true, but you got to have some skepticism.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

So let me get this straight. You have the right to bear arms and then complain when arms are then presented. Huh? Pick one!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@Toshiyori

I riddle my posts with question marks to get debate going not to pair with a 'broad brush'....,

And I really hate it when people get attacked by rioters, don't you?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Under Obama, the first African American president why isn't it that black people haven't felt a sense of empowerment and belonging? A can-do attitude? Here was/is the role model right? Hard work and devotion leading to becoming the top job!in the US! However, not being to rally and organize, to debate and conclude. All these skills are needed in a civil society. But starting riots seems to be the answer ! To always feel a sense of entitlement where without toil or effort , life is possible? Is this the curse of the black man?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

What do any of your comments have to do with the truths I'm speaking? None of them show anything I said to be wrong.

Nobody appears to be saying your views are "wrong." You're moving the goal posts, here.

The vast majority of law enforcement (not the relatively "few" that the media likes to shine the spotlight on) do their jobs & do them well. From all appearances, in THIS particular case (stay in context, if you can), this police officer handled the situation in the only way available to him.

kurisupisu: I riddle my posts with question marks to get debate going not to paint with a 'broad brush'....,And I really hate it when people get attacked by rioters, don't you?

Thank you for the explanation. I also hate it when people are attacked by rioters, along with rioters looting, damaging and torching buildings, vehicles, etc. After the smoke clears, a large number of black people in the community are going to be unemployed due to the destruction and, possibly, their employers not wanting to rebuild in the area.

What do any of your comments have to do with the truths I'm speaking? None of them show anything I said to be wrong.

The guys father even said that it was more his fault than the cops, since he failed as a father showing his son right from wrong by going in and out of jail. So the old narrative of he was a person who had decided to "turn his life around" doesn't work in this case.

Also @ Strangeland you say cops should only shoot to just maim, and not kill. Then shouldn't the criminals also shoot that way too? Or do they get the right to defend themselves to the max by shooting to kill. Not sure if you have ever fired a gun, but even hitting a stationary target takes some skill (look at the recent Olympic competitions), now you add this with chasing someone at night and not knowing what their true intent is, you are not going to easily shoot at a leg and stop them. You try to shoot for body center mass. Don't want to get shot by cops, don't run away from the police run pulled over for a traffic stop.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I know Japanese cops don't know how to shoot but in USA, how about train to shoot a leg ot a hand?

What a stupid comment. You cannot be serious. Do you think armed thugish criminals (especially the profile of the suspect in Milwaukee) aim for leg or hand?

If a suspect is shot a couple times in the leg, do you not think he can still return fire. Dam right they can & will. They aim for Officer's head and upper torso extremities.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Flynn said the entire episode took about 25 seconds, from the start of the traffic stop until shots were fired.

It seems that life has become very cheap in the United States.

Apparently, a "good guy with a gun" stopped a bad guy with a gun, but the USA makes it way too easy for bad guys to get guns in the first place.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

but the USA makes it way too easy for bad guys to get guns in the first place.

True. But lots of these young Black criminals are raised wrong. Their parents, in many cases, are gang members or x-members too. They don't have fathers in most cases. They're on drugs. They're on EBT. They drop out of school. They don't work. They have no respect for the law & decent citizens.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

But lots of these young Black criminals are raised wrong.

I might have thought that way at one time -- BW (Before The Wire). Upon watching that true-to-life series on the inner city of Baltimore, I came away with tremendous respect for what young blacks in American cities face.

I agree fully. I'm a supporter of the police, and I praise the good ones.

From all appearances, in THIS particular case (stay in context, if you can), this police officer handled the situation in the only way available to him.

I've refrained from comment on this particular case.

to insinuate that a cop shouldn't use lethal force even if his life is in danger is just plain stupidiy

I agree, but I didn't insinuate that, and I can't see that anyone else did either.

Also @ Strangeland you say cops should only shoot to just maim, and not kill.

I didn't say that. You must have confused me with another poster.

“It was in his hand. He was raising up with it,” the chief said. He said it was unclear how many rounds the officer fired.

Now how could that be? The video that showed the shot guy had a gun some how does not seem to show how many shot fired? Ok fair enough but, simple math, bullets in gun before minus bullets in gun after= shots fired by officer. We are not being given any of the real story here.
