Look at the "elite" Capitol police in the picture, they're sitting on the stands like they're watching a Little League game.

The above a good reminder of how police view mostly white mobs in contrast to how they view mobs that are mostly non-white.

Vastly outnumbered and no reinforcements or National Guard support in sight. No leadership. Probably more than a little scared too, both of the people in the crowd and of getting sideways with the previous President by hurting his supporters on camera. The President after all told them all he loves them. I can imagine some of them wondering "what the eff am I doing here?"

Since his defeat, Trump has been promoting lies

Trump's just continuing promoting lies. continuing what he did for the four long years he was in office, which was a continuation of what he had done for the 70+ years before that. And still his anti-American followers (US and 'foreign') believe what the compulsive, serial liar says and disbelieve reports from 'western' intelligence agencies.

So far, about 300 people have been charged with federal crimes for their roles in the riot

From what I've read and believe, each of those charged was a Trump supporting, extreme rightist. And yet extreme right pols like Republican Sen. Johnson and extreme right entertainers like Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones backed by others in the extreme right media like RT/Breitbart etc. persist in promoting their mutual tuckercarlsons that it was Antifa/BLM folks who assaulted the capitol in their failed attempt to steal the election for their Trump.

Several QAnon groups still operating on the social media messaging platform Telegram warned followers to stay away from any events on March 4, claiming it was a setup for Trump supporters

The Qanon-ers have learned to speak with forked tongues like their messiah Trump. Say two contradictory things then after the fact claim they meant the one that excuses them from responsibility.

Beware the 4th of March! Plus Qanon-ers and others in the wack, violent global alt right, especially those in the Trump Republican tent.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Are the right blaming this on Antifa yet?

9 ( +9 / -0 )

And will trumps reinauguration today make him the 47th president?

The Qanon theory would make him the first "legitimate" President since William McKinley, which would make him the 26th President, according to their nonsense. This is because they misread a law passed in the 19th century, and believe that the US has been a company, not a country, since McKinley's time, and every president since then has been illigitimate.

"Hang on, Lazarus," I hear you read. "Doesn't that mean that Trump's presidency was also illigitimate?"

To which the cultists say, "SHUT UP!!"

I just don't think there's any way to reach these right-wing terrorists and their plans to kidnap, kill, and blow things up. And that's sad because it will become the new normal for the US.

If you want to see something really sad, check out Reddit: https://old.reddit.com/r/QAnonCasualties/. It has stories about people getting divorced or having to walk away from loved ones after their significant others started watching YouTube videos, and then literally went insane over these conspiracy theories.

I think we should be prepared for headlines about bombs blowing up buildings and killing innocents. Enjoy your 4th of July celebration at the National Mall with 8 feet of concrete wall blocking your view.

Is this the storm? Looks pretty sunny outside today.

The only cloud is still seeing the occasional story about the previous President and his loony toons in the news.

They need something to occupy their tiny minds I guess, maybe try Candy Crush?

8 ( +8 / -0 )

So they believe, today March 4, Trump will be sworn in again as president. Idiots!

March 20th is another possible date, as some of the Quacks believe that the 4th is a false flag event created by the MSM. Apparently, the Pope and other notables will be arrested on the day.

Mad as a hat.

The lunacy of the Republican supported QAnon movement knows no bounds. These people are truly nuts.

What the hell has happened to the Republican Party?!

Bass:. He hasn’t really said much of anything, except his personal opinion.

Yep, he gave his personal opinion. And then after he expressed his opinion, he tried to get a legitimate election overturned, going as far as asking the VP not to certify the votes.

I think more people had problems with the second part. Seems to have fallen off your radar.

I've been watching a girl I knew from high school go down the qanon, election fraud, lunacy hole on Facebook. Her posts were getting progressively unhinged prior to the election, and she really lost it afterwards. Then she kept showing up every few days complaining about having been put in facebook prison, and going on about masks.

It's interesting to see. Sad. She was fun when we were young.

Reminds me of those cult guys gathering on a mountain for the supposedly apocalypse day their guru predicted. They could commit mass suicide in protest though

6 ( +6 / -0 )

What the hell has happened to the Republican Party?!

It got infected. To be fair, it has been in poor shape for generations and was relatively easy for it to be taken over by the far right and other assorted crazies.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The “intelligence” appears to be two months too late.

This time they didn't have the president actively interfering in any response.

Can't have police lined up when white people are protesting, the white people might look like seditionists...

Yeah, it does look like terrorism will become as normal as in the middle east in the upcoming years. Too many far-right seditionists who think the government is illegitimate.

Good thing Trump kept out all those Muslims!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The MAGA-militias are out to plunder and kill again. And you can bet after they storm the building in their red MAGA hats, waving their Trump banners and Confederate flags, they'll be people here on JT and in the far-right media echo chamber that will say it was Antifa, Hillary, Hunter, and Elvis in disguise...

Pro-Trump, far-right domestic terrorists; no different than ISIS and Al Qaeda...

6 ( +6 / -0 )

He hasn’t really said much of anything, except his personal opinion, which is increasingly under threat these days. But you’re not allowed to have an opinion unless it agrees with the left.

He said things that are factually untrue. If I said, "in my opinion, candyfloss is made of titanium", it wouldn't be correct. If I said, "candyfloss IS made of titanium", I would be wrong.

Sorry, no one here is anti-American

Actually, Trump supporters attempted to overthrow the US government and assassinate duly elected officials less than eight weeks ago. On orders from Trump.

Many of read and don’t believe a lot of these reports. Why?

Because you have been seduced by a far-right cult, known today as the GOP.

I think it’s up to the people who decide which one of these groups are the real and true threat.

No, it isn't. I know that right wingers love postmodernism, but facts exist and the truth is real.

The facts are that Trump supporters tried to end democracy in the US. The truth is that they did it because they are part of a far-right white nationalist movement, as those who have gotten out will attest. The reality is that Trump is the head of this anti-American, racist, neo-Nazi cult.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

When you pee off 50% of nation, with guns and confederate flags, would could go wrong?

Are you suggesting that the Democratic Party should have let Donald Trump run unopposed because his supporters are violent racists?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Teflon Don and his Q-Anons. Nice going amerika, thanks for the ongoing clown show. Could this get any more insane?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Antifa shmantifa! The "Manchurian Candidates" who marched on the Capitol to stop the count were only pawns in THEIR ( the usual suspects) game. They will receive little mercy while those corrupt, mendacious mischief-makers who fed their gullibility, the influencers and string-pullers in high places, will enjoy their privilege of impunity and another day will get another chance to undermine the rotting foundations of American democracy to realize their greedy ambitions for power and self-enrichment.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The “intelligence” appears to be two months too late.

This is intelligence on a threat on a different day. This would have been clear to you had you read the article. Thank you for finally accepting that Trump supporters were behind the January 6 fascist coup attempt, though.

It's so sad, I've seen a few friends go down that dark hole, too. And the lockdown in other countries is exacerbating matters; they have isolated themselves from friends who would normally be able to discuss things rationally with.

But you’re not allowed to have an opinion unless it agrees with the left.

Nonsense. The far right posts here (and elsewhere) every single day. Until their posts and credibility is challenged and topics are then, mysteriously, disabled.

the people that are anti-American are the ones that are trying to stop all forms of freedom of speech and are promoting and continuation of this cancerous cancel culture

I think you mean consequence culture. The anti-Americans are those who tried to overthrow democracy and still support falsehoods and wannabe dictators. Those anti-Americans don't like to face up to consequences.

As for cancellations?

Brace for impact. The signal will soon be given.

March 4 or March 4th is also word play.

(Remember that other one, "May the Fourth be with you"?)

Doya think Guy Fawkes would mind if we call this "The Facepowder Plot" in honor of its chief instigator? No huh...well, just tryin'...

Many of read and don’t believe a lot of these reports. Why? Because Wray says so? So now we’re supposed to believe the FBI, the one who’s top agents were trying to August the previous president?

persist in promoting their mutual tuckercarlsons that it was Antifa/BLM folks who assaulted the capitol in their failed attempt to steal the election for their Trump.

Not sure. I don’t and there are millions of people that don’t believe or trust the FBI, so they can make a report they want and I think it’s up to the people who decide which one of these groups are the real and true threat.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Nonsense. The far right posts here (and elsewhere) every single day.

The left as well, not nonsense.

I think you mean consequence culture.

No, I mean, cancel culture. Nothing Anti-American about it.
