it was not known how the fights started

But the words "football supporters" and "drinking in pubs" give us a hint.

UK soccer supporters going to away games are always going to have troublemakers......

@kuri, not only a uk thing, pretty sure Marseille youths were up for it too like they were in 1998 and so will the Russians, Germans, Ukrainians, poles etc. It's a euro thing we've always had. Imo brits arent the only ones to blame.

It amazes me that even after Heysel (no barriers between rival fans) and Hillsborough (poor venue for large support) that in the year 2016 they decide to base England supporters in Marseille of all places. Why do these football authorities never think ahead? Or maybe they actually want the chance to blame troubles on England supporters or local French-Arab youth?

The french are scared of the arabs but the british yobs won't be. I'd suggest les zonards stick to their strange version of Ramadan and leave the British hooligans be.

What will be more interesting to see is if the workshy trade unions are prepared to disrupt the Euro 16m I'm really hoping they do (not being a fan of football) it would be exquisite to see the tide turn against them. Trade unions should be banned, France is on the brink collapse yet the privileged, entitled socialists are still out there leading the charge of Denial...

Routine for a soccer gathering.

they decide to base England supporters in Marseille of all places.

The plan was to put all the crazies in one place so the rest of the world is quiet.

The French and British "yobs" are what you call "the arabs".

Riot police with shields separated the two groups.

Thanks local youths and English fans! You just made me feel sorry for the cops doing a crap job.

Guess reading about drunk hooligans & team die-hards is better than reading about muslim radicals in France.
