But there’s a media blackout about the story. Maybe he doesn’t know about it.
Blacklabel
Yeah I bet LeBron will be tweeting about this racist treatment of a Black man any moment now.....oh wait, this officer- he’s not “next”? Just because of the color of his skin?
Bob Fosse
That’s nice. I heard about it in the NYPost, and here of course.

Like everyone else, Youtube.

I know what you mean. I was all set to bring up the racism angle until I realized it was just a cop tasering a 67-year old handcuffed man. Now I'm totally screwed with my narrative of police brutality.
You win this one. Tasered man down. Congrats on your victory.
Bob Fosse
How did you hear about it?
bass4funk
Yes, but because the officer that pulled him out, cuffed him, and tased him was black, the media won't touch it, so basically, the msm media narrative is not about police brutality or police assault, it's about color and race as usual, now had that cop been white, we know what would happen. You think Sharpton is on his way to Louisiana, I'm not surprised that the left continues and unabashedly play the race card. shame on them!

Failure to comply especially after he started screaming.
Seems like the old man did by disturbing the peace.
Blacklabel
I had to read the entire article to get to why it exists.
Too bad the officer is also Black, or this would be a great narrative. But guess the anti-police narrative is enough these days, even when there isnt a racial narrative to match.
NOMINATION
If you want to stereotype the 700,000 officers across the U.S. by the acts of a few, that is on you. They are of all colors by the way.
NOMINATION
How about stop calling police in the first place if you they are a bunch of ruthless savages? People last year here said abolish the police. Let's see what happens when there are no police officers and only social workers and/or self to deal with problems.

Was he drunk? Had he come back at 3:00 am before, maybe repeatedly? Had the sister deliberately locked him out? Did he have a mouth on him, and a manipulative character? Did she call the police knowing that it was him, but hoping to get the law involved since he would not listen to her?
Sounds as if a story can be told right herein this context, quote: Richardson’s sister had called police because someone was breaking in through a window, news agencies reported. Richardson said it was his house, and he’d lost his key. “This is my house. ... I pay for everything here. She don’t run nothing,”

You always come back to this. As though law-breakers deserve to be physically abused by the police.
The job of law enforcement is to protect and serve. Punishment is to be decided by the courts, not the cops.
Toasted Heretic
The brutal police state continues.

Or maybe people shouldn’t be breaking the law.
Evidently not it would seem.
Not forcing everything, it’s just not a one-sided open snd shut case.

Pro Tip: Don't break into a house where you live at 3am, especially if you are black and your family won't stop the cops from taking you away.
Pro Tip2: Don't scream outside at 3am and expect cops to be too understanding.
The claim of open heart surgery could easily have been a lie or not. At 3am, people tend to exaggerate, in my experience. I couldn't find proof either way about the surgery.
The cops determine it is actually his home, so they have to figure out what offense to charge Richardson.
Pro Tip for Cops: Don't abuse your power. People are watching, sometimes other cops.
Watching the 45 min body-cam footage certainly makes me feel bad for these police officers. It is clear the "suspect" waived his right to be silent - that's all I'm sayin'.
Richardson certainly had good reason to be upset. 24 min in to the footage, he asks to be tasered again - literally. The conversation in the police station is NSFW.
It is clear that the justice system in Port Allen is very complex and sophisticated.
bass4funk
If you don’t comply, the officer should do whatever is within reason to make them comply.

Jeeze. To a 67-year old guy in handcuffs?
