It may be one of two things - either he was drunk and there's a cover-up because he's a celebrity, or he had a fight with his wife and left the house in an emotional state.

Why else would somebody hit a tree AND a fire hydrant (this story forgot to mention)at 2:30 in the morning?

Swerve to miss a cat or dog. Temporarily blinded by somebody's highbeams. Gazing too long at the hooker that does not belong in your neighborhood. Sleepy after a long day and falling asleep when you have almost made it home. Goofing off gone wrong. Exploded tire. Dropped cigarette. Stuck accelerator. Oil slick. Texting. Sexting. Insurance fraud. Media attention. The list goes on...

But yes, your ideas are most likely. :)

numbskull, you forgot to mention ice on the road... he was travelling so slowly that the Cadillac airbags didn't inflate. Maybe he is a sleepdriver?

According to TMZ.com (and those guys usually get these kind of things right), the scratches on his face are because his wifey attacked him. Allegedly she found out hehad a mistress (according to the Enquirer) so they had a huge confrontation. Most of the other damage to the car is from her hitting it with the golf club.

initially they made it seem as if she broke him free from the car with the club, but the real story will come out soon...

So Pepin, you are saying that she wrecked the car with the club, and then attacked the fire hydrant and the neighbour's tree with it, and then hoping to get the insurance money, drove the car out into the street and laid Tiger on the ground? Thus, following TMZ logic, they won't talk with the Police until Tiger's sleeping pills have worked their way out of his system?

In Florida?

Maybe he is a sleepdriver?

Covered that. I did however miss the possibilities that was staring at a UFO for too long or was hypnotized by Rasputin.

No, I mean like sleepwalker/sleepdriver. His wife caight him sleepdriving again... And they do have heatlamps over the orange fields to blow off the occasional frost, so it has to be a very likely factor.

I wonder how many lawyers and advisors they are using till they can come up with a credible story!

His wandering putter finally caught up with him -- now his soon-to-be ex-wife is going to show him how to play with a handicap!

Apart from being a world champion he also is a philanderer and this is catching up with him.

Apparently, she was chasing him, swinging a golf club, and he tried to escape in his SUV, ramming the fire hydrant in his panic to get away.

Lots of fodder for plenty of juicy gossip stories and blonde jokes in the next few weeks...

Bah, she's was probably in the car with him having a good old fashioned marital and yanked the steering wheel in a fit of un-stopable feminine phsycosis.

Where did the golf club come from anyway? I'm betting it was in the car as the sensible option would have obviously not to get a golf club from the house and smash the rear window, but to grab the spare key.....

It seems to have been a domestic dispute after all. This happened two days after a story about an alleged affair was released. Seems a known gold-digging woman, whom he was rumored to be having a affair with, just happened to be staying in the same hotels Tiger was staying in.

Look for this story to quietly die away, and for their pending divorce announcement. Having assault charges pending against her will likely decrease her divorce settlement.

Rich, famous and male...expecting such a person not to sleep around is like an anime geek expecting a supermodel to fall in his lap!

Why can't these women figure that out? If they wanted fidelity, they should have married the anime geek! Especially if they are the type to chase a man with a golf club for having a fling. Its like some people were born yesterday!

Pepingarcia: you take tmz as a credible news source? LOL people need to just mind their own business like he minds his....

His wife should try out for the LPGA =obviously she has a good enough swing. Temperment will need to be worked on however.

If she used a golf club to break the rear window to get him out, what the hell was she doing in the street with a golf club at 2:30 in the am (besides chasing him with it)? If I was in my house and heard an accident, I wouldn't think of grabbing a golf club before running outside. It's not because she feared for her safety, especially in a gated community with security. Anyway, if his wife is so violent, who could blame him for looking elsewhere?

I read the article about Mr. Woods as well as reading other articles. I am amazed at how anyone would think that the National Enquirer, TMZ.com etc would be a reliable source. Just recently I decided to read comments and I am so sorry that I have. In the future I will forgo most of the comments. Reading these comments is like sitting on a bus listening to high school students that make fun of current events like this.

Of course the damage to the hydrant and the front of the car is from the crash, i meant the damage to the side and back of the car,as well as Tiger's bruises. Given that the airbags didn't deploy, it should not have been such a strong impact. Yeah they must be waiting for the bruises an effect of all the medications to wear off before issuing a statement. Making up stories to the cops is a punishable offense (look what happened to the balloon boy's parents), so they are treading in deep water here.

Enquirer is a tabloid, willing to print anything, but TMZ usually doesnt put things out unless it's pretty sure, or it has firsthand video evidence. If it was up to me, however, i would have laws against what Paparazzis can do. 99% of the time they go too far. Perhaps the Tyson incident will bring some of those legal issues under consideration.

Tiger Woods: Not a good neighbor.

His next door neighbor had his hydrant ripped off and his tree molested by Tiger's Cadillac Suv.

Kinda like Dick Cheney, "Unavailable for Questioning." Try that in da hood! "Sorry Officer, Jamal and his homeys are indisposed right now, can you call and make an appointment?"

It's called a DUI. < :-)

I didn't think anything of this until I heard that Woods did not make himself available to speak with the police when they came by - twice. It doesn't matter that he doesn't have to talk to them, when the cops come by your house you should cooperate. Now it seems like he is hiding something.
