Democrats capture Senate seat in Georgia runoff

The incumbent senator defeated Republican Herschel Walker, a former football star and protege of former president Donald Trump.

Trump was always blinded by celebrity adulation and not content to just be a silver spoon real estate developer.

That led to his malign influence on American politics and the very unwise choice of endorsing Herschel Walker, whom Dave Chapelle well described as "observably stupid".

A Warnock win gives Democrats 51 seats and significantly curbs the power of centrist Democratic senator Joe Manchin, who has already blocked several major Biden initiatives in the first two years of his term.

Probably the biggest upside in diminishing the influence of this coal baron who somehow is a Democrat, the supposed party of the American "left".

Im mostly concerned by this; The only red politicians in a red state who seem to be able to be elected are Brian Kemp and friends and I have no idea why that is.

Alabama elected an idiot football guy but thankfully Georgia did not make the same mistake. Rack up another huge loss for Trump on the same day his business was judged a huge legal failure. Makes no difference however to the Trump misfits, they will vote for him again in 2024 anyway.

I'm a conservative, living in Georgia. I didn't like either candidate, but was forced to pick the least bad one.

That wasn't Mr. Walker. Being famous for football and lying about so many things, like domestic abuse, fathering children, claiming your company employs 800 people when it really employs 8, claiming you were in the military and a police officer when none of those were true .... just too many lies to swallow.

Next up, time to clean out the state representatives who made legal voting so much harder, instead of easier and on paper. We're watching all of of the state representatives here, looking for any excuse to specifically embarrass anyone who voted to make voting harder by restricting voting periods and ways to vote and we are looking for who gets kickbacks from the voting machine vendors. We'll keep at it until all voting in Georgia uses paper ballots for 99% and 1% who need assistance due to physical limitations can use voting machines, if they choose. The Secretary of State decided to ignore experts for what makes excellent, 100% auditable voting, which none of the voting machines can do. There's no reasonable way for a voter to look at the paper summery of their votes in 2 minutes and KNOW with more than about 35% accuracy (tests were performed) that who they voted for was actually captured. The SoS office refused to make the paper the "official" record of a vote for audit purposes too. They are hiding something. That is clear. The only thing that should be hidden in any election voting is the connection for how any individual voted. Everything else needs to be transparent and 100% re-countable by 2 idiots looking at the same paper with no need to trust any computer.

Walker's campaign slogan; "Abortion is MURDER! Except when one of my many girlfriends is pregnant"....

That someone this dishonest and hypocritical could get 49% of the vote should scare us all...
