Consumption of harmful foods is on the rise, the report found, with red and processed meat already at almost five times the maximum recommendation of one serving a week.

Wow, another article combining red meat and processed meat.

Higher-income countries had the highest intake of foods with harmful health impacts like red meat, dairy and sugary drinks.

There is nothing wrong with red meat. The main problems are sugar, processed carbs, and seed oils.

There is nothing wrong with red meat.

What studies are you basing that on?

Sugar and processed carbs, yes. Seed oils may or may not be. The method of preparation also matters.

Eat more red meat, and less processed meat, and you will be fine.

The science says so.

Which peer-reviewed studies are you basing this on?

Why? Did you want to review any such studies and provide commentary? Which peer-reviewed studies have you read on this topic? If none, then why are you commenting on this topic without having read any peer-reviewed studies upon which to base your comments?

I'm not making any assertions one way or the other. You are saying that "science" says you're right. I'd like to see your evidence.

You're making the claim. The burden of proof is on you to back this up otherwise your opinion is meaningless uninformed nonsense.

Does it? Which science? Links please. As far as I know there haven't been any studies done on red meat that exclude processed meat.

I do. This is a topic I spend a lot of time researching, as I am very particular about the food I eat. And unlike most of the plebs out there, I'm able to parse what these studies are saying.

Thanks, this is the kind of study I like to see. This one supports a lot of my personal beliefs, however there are a few points that caught my eye. The first one is that its 10 years old, which in food science is a lifetime ago. The other is that the article is clear that this topic needs further investigation:

Keep in mind that this analysis won't be the last word on the subject. It is limited by the quality of the data in the 20 original studies, and will almost certainly spur other researchers to examine the effect of meat consumption on cardiovascular disease.

But their conclusion matches how I live:

The best sources of protein are still fish, beans, nuts, and poultry. But the findings do suggest that eating red meat a few times a week can be part of a healthful diet, and you don't need to feel guilty when you cook a steak or order a lamb chop.

Hmm is right. Interesting that you skipped all my other comments on the subject and singled out that line.

That's because it told us more that the entire rest of your posts put together. It tells us (unless you are being sarcastic) that you are not objective and even if we agree with your "personal beliefs", any further intelligent discussion with you is pointless.
