Wow one religion spreading peace and consolation to the grieving family... I don't think Islam's representative has done that yet.... Its a shame that people are murdered in this way by masked cowards.

This guy, James Foley, got lucky ONCE in Libya, he was captured and then later released from some armed group in Libya, then he WENT BACK to the Middle East, to SYRIA of all places and tried his LUCK again but?? I know the POPE feels real sorry for him and other Christians but if you are TOO stupid to stay away from those crazy conflict zones this is what can happen. RIP???

That is rather insensitive as well as not very realistic. We get our information about such conflicts because of people like James Foley. These people risks their lives to get us information without the necessity of our risking our lives. They have my deepest respect.

Bottom line, it is the ones that did this to him that are wrong, not Mr. Foley.

Judging from the reports and interviews with people who knew him on TV, James Foley sounds like he was a prince among men.

RIP

Pope Francis called the parents of James Foley, the American journalist killed by Islamic State militants in Iraq, to offer his condolences and support.

Regardless of your religious views, you cannot deny that this is a man who gets it. Three of his own relatives were killed in an automobile accident this week, yet he took time out of his own grieving to speak to James Foley's parents.

and, Mr Naidal, your post is simply incredibly small-minded/ignorent:

This is nothing more than political showmanship. Tell me how does the pope calling change or do anything. Will his holiness also call the parents of the dead Palestinian children blown to smithereens by the so-called chosen people of god?

I guess the good Catholics are yearning for points

First off, the Pope does not need "political showmanship". He is head of the world's largest organized religion -- 1.2 billion. Second, if his words brought even a small amount of comfort to his parents, that is all that is important. Finally, the Pope visited the West Bank back in May, and according to ABC News:

So after Sunday’s extraordinary gestures of solidarity with Palestinians,

Rankled by Francis’ stop at the separation wall/barrier in Bethlehem, the Israeli prime minister asked Pope Francis to add a stop on his schedule in Jerusalem at a memorial to the victims of terrorism.

Why don't you at least take the time to learn about the man before you level your hatred at him?
