“so that no president of whatever party can ever assume that he or she has the power to usurp the power of the other branches of government.”

kinda like when the Supreme Court tells you its unconstitutional to continue an eviction moratorium and you do it anyway from the executive branch?

Or when legislatively you cant pass a vaccine mandate so you use OHSA policy instead?

Or when you drone strike children without Congressional approval to act?

Or lose an election but fail to take like a man, and whine, cry, and lie about it - fabricating a utterly false narrative that the election was stolen - and causing an insurrection at the Capitol...

And continuing to propagate that lie even when you and your entire team knew it was false....

Newly released court documents show that the Trump campaign knew its allegations against Dominion Voting Systems were baseless within weeks of the 2020 election. The New York Times reports that the former president’s campaign drafted an internal memo on November 19 that debunked election conspiracy theories involving Dominion and its voting machines. And yet, Trump’s legal team continued to pedal the false allegations against Dominion.

And he still pedals them today - because you can't fleece the flock unless they're angry....

The legislation, Pelosi said, is “specific in its remedies and its inoculations against future abuse.”

"future" meaning from the next President, or including this one?

Democrats push to curb presidential powers :

Why only now?

Such powers have been deliberately and obnoxiously abused since years ago, the damages done were already irrevocable..
