Was this the first time it ever happened?
Nope!

I actually feel sad for those poor people that believe their leader will do his best to protect them. Many people will probably perish and nobody will know.

Super Typhoon Hinnamnor could slam straight into nuclear power plant in South Korea:
This is supposedly to be the most powerful typhoon to hit the nation in decades, spearheading at a nuclear plant.
Lets hope it is stable enough against the typhoon and any massive flood, and that the quake-hit Fukushima incident's fiasco-cum-saga would not be repeated..

Korean nuclear power plants aren't like Japanese ones at all; they can survive a direct hit from a 1-ton warhead ballistic missile and a guaranteed meltdown resistance of 72 hours(the actual average resistance is one week according to tests) in case of a total power cut off thanks to built in natural gravity circulation cooling.

Japanese news outlets are calling it Typhoon 11. Nowhere is using the name.

One wonders what it will do to the most likely unimproved N. Korean coastline.

According to the JMA it's already run its course.
