But mentioning poor dead muslims thousands of miles away doesn't win any votes, does it?"

shamefully, it does. Its really more like thousands of Americans dead who had nothing to do with the US policy but died for it anyway. Notice how you have heard nothing about them on this campaign? Its more important to decode words like community organizer and a pig wearing lip stick.

The American Election Campaign is the most contradictory/ridiculous event I`ve ever seen. Both candidates using hundreds of millions of dollars (makes me sick) to campaign there way across the country/world going on about how great they are. In the meantime, millions continue to suffer from poverty, disease and dispair. This should be illegal. Another massive JOKE!

It was a quiet, silent day over here in the States. I don't think I saw one smiling face all day. I hope nobody ever has to go through that again.

So Michelle stayed with the kids in Chicago. What, couldn't find a sitter?

Was she obliged to attend the ceremony? Is anyone really bothered that she wasn't there. I can imagine the people there who were paying their respects. "9/11... WTC... innocent lives needlessly lost... hang on, where is Barack Obama's wife?! This is a disgrace! Forget all this memorial stuff and find out where she us!"

Perhaps more relevant might be a memorial for the much, much larger number of people who have been pointlessly slaughtered, directly or indirectly, as a result of the USA's foreign policy under Bush since 9/11.

Isn't Canada in Afghanistan slaughtering Muslims as a result of 9/11? Where can I see that memorial? ;)

Is she running?

Wait, YOU? Complain about a Democrat?!?!?!?!

Holy crap. Let me mark my calendar.

What a load of crap. Their politics was at its peak today as this was probably the most visible event they will attend during the entire campaign. Considering their behavior of late I would have preferred neither show up.

I don't know. I have not seen it because of the tele ban.

Is it really an anniversary? Wouldn't 'commemoration' be a better word? A sad day in world history, either way. Am I the only one to make a connection with the date and the American emergency telephone number? - 911 - Coincidence? Maybe? Maybe not!

I guess we will have this every year from now on. Seems a strange event to make a national holiday of sorts.

No, Michelle Obama isn't running for office, but I don't think it takes much common sense to understand that it would have behooved her to be standing next to her husband, who is trying to be elected President, when he and his opponent (and his oppenent's wife) pay their respects to the victims of 9-11 at a memorial ceremony. Michelle Obama is already having to deny a wide-spread public sentiment that she is an elitist. Being conspicuously absent cetainly isn't going to help her in that regard, as important as 9-11 still is in the American psyche. I hope for her sake that whatever kept her in Chicago was really important...

Yes to both.

Alinsky, I'd reply further but there's a sign next to the underside of the bridge and well...I follow the rules.
