Too many people have now been propagandized by the west to believe Russia somehow “failed” and is incapable of taking the western part of the country, but that is not even close to reality. The US dominated part of the world had a much stronger economy after the war due to Europe and the Soviet Union destroying each other and China in the midst of a once in 5000 years rut.

The advantage was so large, it's said the US had a larger economy vis-a-vis rivals than ancient China and Rome had over their rivals.
