Just as predicted a whole year ago here. The question is: Is Ryan the person the USA can rely on as president? He would be one heartbeat from being president if an unfortunate event happens to Romney. It is Biden now, and the same question is being asked about him for November 2012.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I guess the wingers think that it's the economy which is the most important thing in America, and not free health care and contraception. So they talk about Ryan. What they fail to see is that technically, a Summer of Recovery IS STILL A POSSIBILITY..

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

"Romney trails President Barack Obama in most polls"

He's toast!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Its Ryan. Confirmed

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Ryan - heh, the good news for Obama2012 just keeps rolling in. :-)

Ryan'll deliver the extremist base, and unlike Romney, actually has some kind of a plan, even though it'll bury them both and the entire GOP if it ever sees the light of day.

Despite repeated attempts by Global Liberals to educate them, conservatives still can't seem to understand that Ryan's plan is all about gutting welfare for conservatives', their parents and grandmothers while simultaneously making the 1% even richer.

Unlike liberals, conservatives' think that pushing their own family members into the poor house is a good - no, great - idea.

I encourage all conservatives - switch off Fox News' misinformation and turn of Rush Limbaugh's hatespeak deluge for a month and see if anything changes in your heads.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Ryan would be a great choice. Obama has no clue how to manage an economy without relying on tired old Socialist programs that are doomed to fail (see recovery Summer part III). Ryan at least is willing to stand up in public and admit the truth - the US is going broke and needs to do something about it before the country is forced into a brutal Greek style austerity. The free lunch is long over - it's time to get responsible and reform government and quit going down the road to ruin that Obama has the nation on. Obama's Socialist ideology is a loser. That's why he is campaigning for re-election by making personal attacks on Romney instead of touting his record in office. His record is of failure and decline.

Unlike liberals, conservatives' think that pushing their own family members into the poor house is a good - no, great - idea.

No, that is what Liberals say to avoid the truth about the logical consequences of their ideology - high unemployment, debt, and greater misery in the long run. Liberals want the benefit's of a better life now at the cost of a harder life for everyone in the future. Liberals are selfish for the themselves and envious of those that succeed by working harder and smarter than they do. Everyone in a free society can succeed if they work for it. Those that don't want to strive for a good life will turn to government as the easy answer to their lack of motivation. When the government takes over, then no one is free. You are no longer free to make your own decisions about your health, retirement, and your choices to provide for yourself.

Obama is putting the nails in the coffin made by 80 years of Democrat and Republicans governments. If Obama is re-elected in 2012, you can kiss America's future - and the future of the free world - goodbye. This is a hugely important election - and America just might blow it. Hopefully with a man like Ryan on the ticket, Conservatives can make the case for a sustainable government and for a way to avoid the looming disaster that awaits the country should America not change course.

Wahoo!

Awesome news for Obama/Biden 2012.

In terms of self-inflicted damage to the GOP, Mitt's decision to pick Ryan in 2012 will be up there McCain's decision to pick Palin in 2008.

Now, it's clear as day what the GOP's strategy is: throw this electron and hope for better days in 2016, or whenever.

Best news I've heard all week. :-)

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Wolfpack - "Everyone in a free society can succeed if they work for it."

That right there, ladies and gents, is one of the most glaring and fundamental flaws in conservatives' bankrupt ideology.

And it's precisely because the above sentence is false that people turn to the government, as Wolfpack mentioned in his next sentence.

Wolfpack - "Those that don't want to strive for a good life will turn to government as the easy answer to their lack or motivation."

Partly correct,  largely false and very misleading.

Millions of people turn to the government because they have little or no choice, either through physical disabilities, ill health, unemployment, or failed Republican policies.

"lack of motivation"???

Wolfpack, you just insulted a good 10+ million unemployed Americans in one hit.

You even successfully managed to insult  U.S. servicemen and women, who, through fighting to defend YOUR country and YOUR freedoms, have returned home so disabled or disfigured that they are unable to work, period.

Are they subject to your "lack of motivation" claim?

Are they included in your "Everyone in a free society can succeed if they work for it." claim?

No, of course not.

That's why some countries have welfare and why there's a certain block of people who need government care and welfare.

Conservatives see this as government overreach.

Liberals see it as a helping hand.

Conservatives want to withdraw the helping hand, and punish everyone on welfare, including their own parents and grandparents.

No, shave 40% of the DoD budget, keep welfare and remind us you're still a compassionate human being.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

No, shave 40% of the DoD budget, keep welfare and remind us you're still a compassionate human being.

@ SushiSake3: At least 100 million Americans are on some type of welfare. That costs more than the US Defense Budget every year. With all those people on welfare, you would think American society would be better off, since the main liberal thesis is that it's only fair to help everyone out. But look at the statistics and you will see with that large amount on welfare, crime is up and people are not better off. Also, welfare breeds dependence on it. I don't mind helping out a person when they are down due to circumstance beyond their control, but the free loaders have to get off. Recently in Dallas, TS, they had a made stampede in order to sign up for Section 8 housing. The end result was some people got the vouchers, but there is a 2 year wait (this happened in 2010). So, now people are waiting for 2 years, in order to get a voucher to let the government pay for their rent.

Several things wrong about this. 1) It keeps you in poverty, since if you were able to find a way to better your circumstances, you would become ineligible for the assistance. So it is designed to keep people in poverty. 2) As I stated, this happened in 2010, with a 2 year wait, that puts it at 2012, just in time for the election. So those people who did decide to wait it out, are probably not going to vote the Dems and Obama out since they are getting free stuff.

Can we shave off some unecessary Defense spending, sure we can. But just giving money away to make everyone "equal" is not going to make things better. Bring back jobs to America, and you can start.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

"In terms of self-inflicted damage to the GOP, Mitt's decision to pick Ryan in 2012 will be up there McCain's decision to pick Palin in 2008."

I know you want that to be true Sushi, but it isn't.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

"If Obama is re-elected in 2012, you can kiss America's future - and the future of the free world - goodbye. "

Heh, I almost heard a drum roll there Wolfie.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Mads, if you're saying that nothing was as stupid as McCain's selection or Palin, then I agree.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Further proof that the Republican party wants Obama to serve 4 more years!

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Should've been Rubio Christie!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I do hope it is Ryan and a great choice for Romney and the country for a clear and concise choice as the campaign will now truly be about the size of government, facing up to the national debt tsunami that is approaching and how to deal with it before it engulfs and bankrupts the country.

It will force Obama and the Democrats to talk about the the Federal budget and the out of control spending on their watch. The Democrats will of course claim that all Paul Ryan wants to do is just throw Grannie off the cliff to avoid the discussion, and to Demonize Ryan and the Republicans. The media lapdogs will be happy to comply, but Americans know this national conversation has to happen despite the noise and the spin.

The American people know the spending and the debt has to be tackled and we can't keep kicking that can down the road anymore and Romney by choosing Ryan just showed that he's willing to do it and for him all bets are now in on this. This V.P choice sets the stark contrast for which direction the country will be headed for either under another 4 years of Obama or the path Romney has just committed himself and affirmed with Ryan on the ticket. This is now a clear cut choice for the future direction of the country.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Sail, your cliche-ridden comment did nothing to hide the fact that it has been GOP policy for years to "throw Grannie off the cliff" at the expense of padding the wealth of the 1% and spending even more on the DoD.

Admit it. You know it's true.

Yes, the debt is a massive problem and yes, it has to be addressed, but the TPublican's plan of throwing Grannie off the cliff at the expense of other unnecessary funding (ie: the DoD) is not only morally bankrupt but inhumane.

The least the coming election should do is force conservatives to face the debt tsunami the policies and politicians they support/ed have created and work out a humane way to deal with it.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I have a vote...and it will be for Romney/Ryan. Say what you will but I actually HAVE a vote to cast!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Paul Ryan and Romney, seriously? Our forefathers would roll over in their graves. It is not only that the separation of church and state will continue to perverted, but even more nauseating, one candidate ascribes to a sad version of science fiction (Mormonism) and the other comes from a state of semi-literate, gun-totting, overweight . . . yea, I remember why Japan is a nice place to live.

-11 ( +4 / -15 )

Paul Ryan strongly advocated Romneycare. It will be interesting to see how this turns out if he is chosen...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Military spending would also increase under Romney so this would add to the US deficit even more.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

You mean he can actually find someone to run with him ! ? !

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Normally, choosing a VP is like choosing an airline: eschew the risks. The very choice of Ryan would be a huge admission of desperation, and that very admission will drive away those few undecided - they tend to be so because they hate to vote for the loser. Loser.

Twenty-three years younger, the 42-year old Ryan is young enough to be Romney's son. He has also been a member of the extremely unpopular House for 13 years. He brings no gravitas, no foreign policy or military experience, none of the elder-statesman benefits often sought in VP choices. His claim to fame is his budget, which, while anathema to most Americans, at least adds up, while Romney's has been ridiculed. Romney is well-known to desire control; the choice of Ryan would be admission that he no longer has control.

The question remains of the campaign signs:

romney/Ryan?

romney/RYAN?

Ryan/Romney?

Who exactly would you be voting for?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Not that Mitt was all that popular with veterans anyway, but he's going to lose a lot of the Veteran vote when they find out the Ryan plan calls for deep cuts to the VA at a time when the VA's numbers and services are swelling and in more demand.

Romney plans on breaking the promise that the United States makes to our servicemembers.

I couldn't, in good conscience, vote for him.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

media lapdogs

It just wouldn't be a thread without the zealots. They are so predictable.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

This is a great news for Obama/Baiden 2012!!

Bhahaha

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Funny....a vote for Romney/Ryan is a vote to throw the GOP under the bus without it looking like you're voting to throw the GOP under the bus.   :-)

Amazing thing about conservatives is they rarely know they've made a fatal mistake until it's way too late.

I am stoked with this news - just awesome.

Bring on November.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Oh well, looks like Mitt's not even trying anymore. Can you really blame him? After his disastrous European tour, I think he finally realized he's done

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Let's not forget Ryan voted for TARP, voted for the auto bailout.

What a gift.

I'm wondering - did Ryan properly vett Romney??

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Announcement for VP choice in front of docked ship USS Wisconsin in Norfolk

They are sending a wrong message: America is ready to go to another war, Hitler used to use this technique to earn his popularity. The Rep are ready to spend another billions in wars again just like Bush did before balancing the budget.

All US soldiers, get set and ready to go! You will stay in Afganistan longer than you are hoping for. Ultimatum diplomacy will be in, Negotiation, collaboration diplomacy will be a joke if these guys are elected. Americans love it.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

"Let's not forget Ryan... voted for the auto bailout"

So, Ryan helped to save Government, er, General Motors and Detroit!

"Did Ryan properly vett Romney??"

Did Biden properly vett Obama??

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Paul Ryan-another right winger from a Party of NO. For some reason, Karl Rove never gets it from a disaster defeat of McCain/Palin ticket.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Lessee... Mitt Romney & Paul Ryan... a rich Mormon white guy and a rich conservative white guy...

vs...

Barack Obama & Joe Biden... a rich liberal half white half black Charisma Man and a rich liberal white guy...

OMG!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Mitt just lost Florida. :-)

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I am soooo glad mittens Romney chose Paul Ryan to be his running mate. Rep. Ryan`s privatization and voucher plan would have significantly raised costs for Seniors on healthcare. This is indisputable. The added bonus is all the documentation that Ryan is responsible for and how his words will lead many to believe that Ryan is definitely for the destruction of Medicare.

Thank you Mitt for putting Romney/Ryan on bumpers across America. I can guarantee you that most prominent businessmen will get the magnetized version so they can remove it on November 6, 2012 @ 10:00 p.m..

If you think the April 23, 2012 press release or the Wyden-Ryan, of late 2011, had great counter campaign material just look back to to January 2010. Ryan released a plan that would privatize a portion of Social Security. On April 1, 2009 he proposed that starting in 2021, the federal government would no longer pay for Medicare benefits for persons born after 1975.

I can't wait to start digging into the proposal he made on May 21, 2008, Ryan introduced H.R. 6110, titled Roadmap for America's Future Act of 2008.

Of course then I, along with thousands and thousands of other dedicated individuals, will read this text along with proposals way back in 2004 where he supported the Social Security Personal Savings Fund which would REPLACE your Social Security benefits. No matter what changes he will say he has now made along the way he will never convince many seniors of his true intentions. It is there in documentation for all to see.

Truly humorous will be the outcry of the conservatives that will be claiming Paul Ryan's plan would have saved Social Security. But when they defend him the seniors will only hear, " Blah, blah, blah, blah." So senior citizens of America I implore you to listen to the PAC ads that quote his words and writings that effect recipients entitlement paychecks and when the republicans respond with their PAC attack ads you need to collectively put your index fingers in your ears and all say "La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la . . . I can't hear yoooouuuuu."

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I have been listening Romney's speeches very very carefully. His speeches are always missing one issue-EQUALITY. I believe he does this intentionally which is very un-American. America stands for three principals: Liberty, Equality and Justice for ALL. I found no black, minority faces in Norfalk, VA today.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Mitt lost Colorado,

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I wonder who Ron Paul will pick for VP.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

"Mitt just lost Florida... Mitt lost Colorado"

Heh heh

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Mitt just lost New Joisy, New Yo-ku, Calyfornia... pick a state, ha ha!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

When Ryan explains his budget plans in his matter of fact, it all makes sense way, people nod with approval. But than it dawns on them what the consequences really mean for their lives and suddenly it sounds nasty and nuts. You can gush all you want about his budget expertise, this guy has a blind spot for how his math will affect the average person.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I found no black, minority faces in Norfalk, VA today.

Oh I am quite sure Romyan will pick up a few million token toms and token to`mas's this fall. There are a few spewing the conservative ignorance as if economists haven't proven the tax cuts of the 00 years didn't stimulate the economy one iota and did damage due to the deficit effect. Some right leaning economists will say it may have had a negligible effect but that is the best the honest/intelligent economists would claim. But when closely analyzed and compared to the Clinton years in particular, where taxes did rise a little, it is clear that tax breaks, especially for the very wealthiest just don't stimulate the economy.

But Romney only needs to pay 14% tax on his income so the world is a bright place according to the idiot conservatives.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Rep. Ryan`s privatization and voucher plan would have significantly raised costs for Seniors on healthcare.

You are right on the spot. School voucher is unconstitutional and has to be ironed out to get it right. Second, Paul Ryan is a strong advocate for privatization of SSI, Medicare, Military Retirement Pension and Health care. Third, he is for GUNS, Forth, against Civil Rights. This guy and Romney lead by Karl Rove will take all of us back to 1950. We are making a progress!@?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Apparently, Romney introduced Ryan with the words "I did not make a mistake with this guy."

Well, with such a show of confidence I can tell you I'm convinced! :)

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The truth of matter is that people advocating for privatization of SSI, Medicare and against Obamacare are the ones who are financially broke with no health insurance-American short term investing culture with no saving (A Goodtime Charlie). They talk BIG while they are actually getting government vouchers. We see through their minds and they are kidding themselves. Keep it up and they are hurting themselves for a long run. They believe they will NEVER get sick or injured. Bhahaha. They want to save for NOW without thinking for a long term as usual.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Mitt introduced Ryan as a next President of United States ......okay.... :)

1 ( +2 / -1 )

A bold move from a man who normally avoids such.

I'm inclined to agree with the following:

Romney’s choice of Ryan will undoubtedly be criticized as capitulation to the right, and this pick does seem to demonstrate that Romney is not able or willing to distance himself from the base of his party. But the good thing about the Ryan pick is that the Presidential campaign will instantly turn into a very clear choice between two distinct ideologies that genuinely reflect the core beliefs of the two parties. And in that sense, Romney’s choice of Paul Ryan is good news for voters

http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/newsdesk/2012/08/looks-like-ryan-mitts-pick.html#ixzz23FQySbYb

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Heh, can we at least hope the second name on the ticket will release his tax returns?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

A bold move from a man who normally avoids such.

Nah. His advisers told him what to do. He did what he was told.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Triumvere,

Romney has got where he is today by selling his soul to extremists in the GOP and the Tea Party.

His best chance would have been what he really is, which is a moderate candidate that could have swayed swing voters dissatisfied with Obama's four years in office.

It's all downhill from here....

1 ( +1 / -0 )

This is the union buster right?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Madverts,

Romney has got where he is today by selling his soul to anyone who will buy, and then reselling it moments later to someone else.

Given that Romney is such a phony, choosing someone who actually stands for something was a bit refreshing. Of course, VPs don't really do much of anything of substance (unless the President dies, which is rare) so this is undoubtedly a bit of political theater, but still a much bolder one than any of his previous moves: he picked one group to pander to, rather than trying to pander to them all, as he usually does.

Balancing the base against the independents is a tricky business. Whether this was a wise choice, I do not know - I guess we will find out. But is certainly makes things more interesting.

At the very least, if Romney loses this will make it that much harder for the right wing to scream that the ticket wasn't "conservative" enough...

(...or is that just wishful thinking on my part?)

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I have an idea for Romeny/Ryan fans..

How about adding a disclaimer of SSI (including Unemployment benefit) Medicare and Medicaid in voting process for those who are advocating a privatization of entitlement? They can go elsewhere as they wish. We do not need them. Let's make this election as a CHOICE election. They will NEVER get sick, injured or unemployed. Bhahaha. . I am dead serious, and it can be done constitutionally.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Oh I am quite sure Romyan will pick up a few million token toms and token to`mas's this fall.

@ gay sailbreeze retired navy homo: As a Black man I take offense. IT was just a campaign event. Contrary to what your liberal dogma teaches, I don't need someone who looks like me in a position of power to make me feel good about myself. Because if you look at the Dems, they have Blacks like Jesse and Al Sharpton, and what have they done for the Black community. Also, a few months back, a picture was posted of the Obama campaign staff in Chicago. His re-election campaign key advisers didn't include any Blacks or other minorities at all, just white people. Also, when as you say that there were no minorities shown will be brought up on MSNBC, just like they have done in the past, they will have a panel of all whites brining up this issue, no Blacks, unless they are a comedian or a preacher.

Just because someone Black may decide to vote for Romeny/Ryan doesn't mean that they are tokens. If a Black person can't make up their own mind, without some white person telling them how they should think, I don't want to be part of that. They can just stick with the Dems.

@SushiSake3

That right there, ladies and gents, is one of the most glaring and fundamental flaws in conservatives' bankrupt ideology.

American's founding ideology is not bankrupt, but the move away from it is causing America to become literally bankrupt. The Founders understood human nature. Socialists like Obama do not understand how corrupting their free lunch mentality is to the human spirit. Free markets and Liberty are what has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty around the world. Socialism - Obama's idea of hope and change - leads inevitably to privation. Look to history and look to today's Europe. Socialism is failing; how can anyone in their right mind want to keep failing? How does huge levels of debt and government obligations that cannot possibly be paid for be anything other than corrupt?

Wolfpack, you just insulted a good 10+ million unemployed Americans in one hit.

Ladies and gentlemen, millions of Americans who are otherwise capable of providing for themselves yet look to government to ensure their future deserve to be insulted. I don't have a problem calling out people that are perfectly capable of providing for themselves but choose to live off the dole at the expense of America's current and future economic health and viability. Fifty percent of American's do not pay Federal income taxes - are you telling me that fifty percent of American's are disabled?

Obama is killing America. He has no understanding of America's social and political foundations. He is ignorant of what has brought so much success to the people of the US. He denigrates people that start businesses based on their own individual effort and motivation to improve themselves and in the process improve opportunity and living standards for everyone else.

It is heartless and deeply immoral to hang on to a failing ideology that only creates more debt and more government obligations that future generations will have no way of paying for or benefiting from. Government must be reformed and Obama has only doubled down on the failing policies of the past (mostly Democrats policies but Republicans have had their hand in them as well).

Obama has run up more debt in 3 years than Bush did in 8. Obamanomics is an abomination.

America and it's friends around the world in Europe, Asia, and elsewhere better hope that Romney and Ryan win this election. If they do not, America will surely be headed to financial collapse. A bankrupt country with high unemployment cannot buy the products produced at home and abroad that support so many of the worlds jobs and economies.

Obama's ideology is a loser and he must lose this election.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

American's founding ideology is not bankrupt, but the move away from it is causing America to become literally bankrupt.

I'm sorry, Wolfpack, The idea that movement conservatism, be it mainstream or tea party, embodies "America['s] founding ideology" is laughably delusional at best, and a cynical distortion at worst.

I've read the Federalist papers, and I've got my copy of the Constitution sitting right next to me. You can wave all the star spangled banners and wear all the tricorne hats you want, but it won't make you the reincarnation of Hamilton, Jefferson, or Washington.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Fifty percent of American's do not pay Federal income taxes - are you telling me that fifty percent of American's are disabled?

No, some of them are undoubtedly scroungers, and should be made to work (where there are jobs available, which isn't a given after the mass transfer of labour overseas by bottom-line-obsessed corporations).

Some of them are able and willing to work, but can't find jobs because there aren't any, because American business people would rather employ Malaysians and Bangladeshis than Americans.

And some of them are rich, selfish Republican/libertarians who'll do anything to avoid paying tax because they hate poor people.

Simple, really, isn't it?

AlphaapeAug. 12, 2012 - 12:51AM JST

Oh I am quite sure Romyan will pick up a few million token toms and token to`mas's this fall As a Black man I take offense.

You are not listening Romney's speeches very carefully. He intentionally excludes EQUALITY from his speeches. Please tell me who is behind to get Paul Ryan elected. Why often times, "PROSPERITY" is always included in Ryan's speech? What are their ideology principals? You go from there.

WolfpackAug. 12, 2012 - 12:58AM JST

Fifty percent of American's do not pay Federal income taxes

Wow, you are talking about Romney, right? He had never worked in sweat and dust in his life, and paid only 14% tax? You are injecting a great example on the post.

Obama is killing America. He has no understanding of America's social and political foundations. He is ignorant of what has brought so much success to the people of the US.

Wow, here again, what are the social and political foundations, may I ask, Walfpack?

It is heartless and deeply immoral to hang on to a failing ideology that only creates more debt

We owe 14 Trillion debt. When did it start? 4 years ago? When Clinton was in Washington, we had a surplus. Please elaborate further, so I can understand. Thanks.

Walfpack, What is Obamanomics and what is Obama's ideology? Thanks.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Great pick by Romney. A pundit today summarized it well - Ryan represents Obama's most horrifying nightmare: math. It is true that the bottom 50% of American workers do not pay Federal income taxes. They get whatever was deducted during the year with a refund upon filing their tax returns. The poorest Americans not only pay no income tax, they get a refund of the social security premiums they paid. It doesn't affect their future social security benefits. There is a great clip of Ryan thoroughly deconstructing Obama and Obamacare in just six minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPxMZ1WdINs With this pick, Romney is announcing that the Adult Swim period has started.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Alpha,

"His re-election campaign key advisers didn't include any Blacks or other minorities at all, just white people."

Why capitalise Blacks and not whites or minorities?

I'm not saying you are a racist, but Freud might.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Now let the bashfest begin. The Obama-sycophantic mainstream media will now do all the due diligence on this VP candidate which ney never did on Obama. And then some! Any possible dirt on this guy, real or made-up, we will here about now, and until the election ad nauseam.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

SushiSake:

" ads, if you're saying that nothing was as stupid as McCain's selection or Palin, then I agree. "

Doesn´t matter. He´ll get the Palin treatment anyway. Stand by and watch what a fanatically partisan media can do.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Great pick by Romney. A pundit today summarized it well - Ryan represents Obama's most horrifying nightmare: math.

Wrong pick by Romney (actually by Karl Rove who runs the show) again. This will keep all seniors, disabilities, military personnel on pension, Blacks and Minority away. Karl Rove just does not get it. If Romney selected a moderate mainstream Republican as VP, this could have been a different story.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

"He´ll get the Palin treatment anyway. Stand by and watch what a fanatically partisan media can do."

Palin was a bilthering fool, her selection a textbook example of how to pick a candidate and immediately scuttle your chances. You people make me laugh screeching at the media for doing their job, especially in the case of a VP candidate that boasts foreign policy because she can see Russia from her house....

Ryan is no Palin, but he is a bold choice by team Romney to motivate the hardcore fundie base. Alas this is all it will do, whilst alienating the swing voters IMO.

Like I said, it is all downhill from here. There's a big club of gazzillionaires that have tried and failed to run for president. I expect Romney to be the next on the list after John Kerry.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Triumvere,

"(...or is that just wishful thinking on my part?)"

Heh, possibly, but that's because you're a moderate. I've seen some of these nuts claim W Bush was RINO.....

Go figure.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Maybe now "It's the economy, stupid" will prevail. Right or wrong, Ryan is a choice to move the "stupid" away from talking about birth certificates and "he said he said" discussions. It is great that Romney and Ryan have not had to serve in the "military intelligence" groups. Maybe they will be intelligent enough to keep us out of another worthless, no-win war that the previous Republican presidents started.

The Ryan plan calls for $6 Billion dollars in cuts annually to the Veteran's Administration, during a time when the number of Vets is swelling.

Neither of these two have any connection whatsoever to the military. They could not care less about our troops or our veterans.

If they'll break promises to those who risk the most, what makes you think they won't break a promise to you?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

@Hayden, exactly.

$6 billion dolllars in cuts to VA is a tip of iceberg. More and more active duty personnels are getting early retirement lump sum packages, without VA medical benefits ,2 years pior to 20 yrs full retirement. If Ryan and Romney go to Washington, both have no military service records, that's the first place they will cut even further. I truly disagree with Ryan who is known as a champion of Austerity.

I'm sorry, Wolfpack, The idea that movement conservatism, be it mainstream or tea party, embodies "America['s] founding ideology" is laughably delusional at best, and a cynical distortion at worst.

The reason Ryan was selected to be Romney's Vice President is because he is one of the few prominent people in America today that believe America's future depends upon a return to the basics of American governance. None of what Obama or the Democrat party of today stand for reflects in the least bit America's founding ideals. The whole reason for the Tea Party is to return to the Founding principles. Certainly mainstream Republicans do not believe in them anymore - that's why they are steadily losing their position in government. They collaborated with the welfare state and the growing dependence upon debt to finance it.

What is a distortion and cynical is to try to suggest that Obama and modern Liberalism in America resembles the Founding idea of America at all. The roots of today's Liberal's are found in Europe. Obama has much more in common with Karl Marx than with Thomas Jefferson.

I've read the Federalist papers, and I've got my copy of the Constitution sitting right next to me.

Good for you. I have a copy of the Constitution and a picture of George Washington and Jefferson hanging on the wall. I don't think that makes either of us Constitutional scholars. It doesn't take political scientist to figure out which side hews closest to the Founding ideals of America. Liberals gave up on America a long time ago with the onset of the Progressive era back in the late 1800's.

@lucabrasi

No, some of them are undoubtedly scroungers, and should be made to work (where there are jobs available, which isn't a given after the mass transfer of labour overseas by bottom-line-obsessed corporations).

Wow, I am amazed that you think able bodied people should actually be made to work. I wish our government believed that. As for jobs, there are jobs - just not the jobs that people are willing to take because they can make better money sitting on their ass in front of the television collecting a check from Uncle Barry. You seem to hate international business but foreign countries create millions of jobs in America. So foreign companies are supposed to invest in America but America isn't supposed to invest overseas? So we are all better off with less trade and less wealth? That makes no sense.

And some of them are rich, selfish Republican/libertarians who'll do anything to avoid paying tax because they hate poor people.

A great number of rich people today were at one time in their lives relatively poor. Or perhaps their parents were. Most American's you talk to that are rich are proud that they or their family were able to succeed although at one time they were poor. It's called the American Dream. Liberals do not believe in that anymore - but they used to. To say rich people hate the poor is rather obtuse.

Simple, really, isn't it?

Yeah, simple minded.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@globalwatcher

Wow, you are talking about Romney, right? He had never worked in sweat and dust in his life, and paid only 14% tax? You are injecting a great example on the post.

Why do Liberals all of the sudden hate successful businessmen? John F. Kennedy inherited his wealth but Liberals loved him - and a lot of that wealth came from illegal means. John Kerry inherited and married his wealth but Liberals had no problem with that. Romney's father was a success and he was able to pass that on to his children. We all want to do that.

Romney built a business that attempted to rescue failing companies. Every one of them likely would have failed without any investors willing to take a chance on them. Most of the investments paid off and the companies later succeeded and Romney made a lot of money. Staples, Domino's, Burger King, Dunkin' Donuts, Toys R Us, and the Weather Channel to name a few. I don't hate him for that. I wish I could do that myself. It takes a lot of work to change the bad management practices that led these companies to the brink of bankruptcy.

Face it - Obama and Liberal's hate capitalism. Yet there is no way to fund their welfare state nirvana without it - ask the Soviet Union they'll tell you all about it... well, you could if they still existed.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

I'm not saying you are a racist, but Freud might.

@ Madverts: Go and Google "the most honest 3 1/2 minute in TV" and it is a scene from the recent HBO show "The Newsroom" written by very liberal guys, and watch the video. You should walk away with a better understanding on my comments. And for the record, I am not racist, especially against my own (Black) people. I know our histroy all too well, and frankly am appauled at how many Blacks are letting the gains made by others slip away, all just for measly handouts from the Dems.

As far as the Ryan pick, and those who are against it, the more "smarter people" of the Dem party and not the far lefties are a bit worried. After all, if Ryan is an extremist and his proposals are so unpopular, how has he won election seven times in a Democratic district? His lowest share of the vote was 57 percent — in his first race. He routinely wins over two-thirds of the vote. When Obama swept the nation in 2008, he carried Ryan’s district by four points. But at the same time, Ryan won reelection with 65 percent of the vote, meaning that a fifth of Obama voters also voted for him.

No Republican has carried his district for president since Ronald Reagan in 1984. Democrats know that Ryan has Reaganesque qualities that make him appealing to independent, middle-class voters. Ryan’s ideas aren’t that novel or scary. The idea of “premium support” for Medicare, which would change the program’s one-size-fits-all policy to a private-insurance model with public options, was endorsed by a bipartisan commission appointed by Bill Clinton back in the 1990s. Late last year, Ryan announced a new version of his proposal with a new partner signing on: Democratic senator Ron Wyden of Oregon, who first achieved political prominence as an advocate for seniors.

Democratic consultant Joe Trippi acknowledged today on Fox News, Ryan will bring in a flood of donations from overjoyed conservatives and tea-party members. Romney had a problem with energizing the GOP base. That problem is now solved, and that will make it easier to pump up conservative turnout. Ryan was judged to have already had the better of President Obama in televised exchanges on Obamacare. His debate with Joe Biden this October might well be remembered as cruel and unusual punishment for dim vice presidents. Recall that Sarah Palin fought a much more engaged Joe Biden to a draw in their 2008 vice-presidential debate.

Overall, it was a good pick. I am sure people will find fault with the pick as we have seen here, and I guess that is how politics work.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@Walfpack, it can be well explained by the difference in ideology evolved in Economics . Economics and Law go hand in hand in public policy making process. The gap has been getting wider and bigger in recent US politics, unfortunately, this election will define the difference even more. I did not earn a degree of Political Science, but I have two others. I respect your opinions, hope you will respect mine. FYI

@globalwatcher:

We owe 14 Trillion debt. When did it start? 4 years ago? When Clinton was in Washington, we had a surplus. Please elaborate further, so I can understand. Thanks.

No, America owes closer to $26 trillion in debt and it certainly didn't start with Obama. Both Democrats and Republicans have dug this huge debt hole. Please don't assume that I am a Republican - I am not. The debt only mattered to Democrats when they were out of power and vice-versa with Republicans. But what has happened over the past nearly four years is truly terrifying. Obama's budget's created more debt in a little over three years than what Bush 43 did in eight! And he had two wars and 9-11 and the Fannie - Freddie disaster. Not only that, but each year Obama's deficits have not only been merely in the hundreds of billions but more like a trillion plus. Now, the yearly budget deficit of a trillion is predicted for the next four years and beyond as well. Should he be re-elected, Obama will have single handedly double the debt from around $10 trillion. Doesn't that make anyone concerned in the least? That is pure insantiy! The country would have been better off just handing a check for $40,000 to each adult citizen and stopping at that.

And let's not get too excited about Clinton's "surplus" - he was riding a once a century tech revolution that was built into a bubble that bust right as he left office.

Walfpack, What is Obamanomics and what is Obama's ideology? Thanks.

Obama is a collectivist in the mold of a European Socialist. Surely you know that. Isn't that why you support him? It's failing in countries in Europe now and it will eventually fail in nearly all of them that are somewhat large and/or multi-cultural or mutli-ethnic. I have been disappointed by Republicans in the past and that is why am I not a Republican. However, I am an American that believes in American ideals. Anyone that wants to return to that - I will support because that is the only form of government that can work for the most people and not require huge limits on individual freedoms.

I think Paul Ryan gets that and for that reason, I am very encouraged by Romney's selection of him as his VP. They are both very intelligent men and together they understand business and government. I'll take that over Barack "you didn't build that" Obama any day.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Face it - Obama and Liberal's hate capitalism. Yet there is no way to fund their welfare state nirvana without it -

@ Wolfpack: To add to your point, I will say on the boad that I will go and vote for Obama if the following happens, the next time he and his fellow liberals go to a $30,000 a plate fundraising dinner hosted at some big Hollywood type liberal, and then take the proceeds of each plate and go down to skid row in LA and personally hand over the $30,000 to an individual that they see in need, then I will cast my vote for Obama. Or, if they say instead of giving it directly to a poor person, but they make their tax return available and show that they have given the amount back to the US Treasury as an extra tax payment that they didn't need to make, I will vote for Obama.

Yet, they want me, just a moderte income type person to pay more. Until they start actually dong some of the things that they say are not being done themselves, then I am not going to go blindly following them.

I still can't get my head around Repubs picking Ryan. Did these fools learn nothing from the brave resistance we all put up against Ryan's fellow Wisconsonian, the hated Scott Walker? Do they really want a repeat of all that? Do they really want to go there????

Did these fools learn nothing from the brave resistance we all put up against Ryan's fellow Wisconsonian, the hated Scott Walker? Do they really want a repeat of all that? Do they really want to go there????

@ HOpeAndChange2012: You do realize that Scott Walker survived his recall election, and that since he went tough on the public employee unions in WI, that they lost some of the political clout. When he enacted the law that said that teachers could give union dues vonluntary and not mandatory, unions dues in WI dropped sharply. So maybe picking Ryan is not such a bad idea.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Heh, the democrats are all over the TV here in the States saying "what a bad pick" "it should have been Rubio".....whine, whine, whine. This tells me Ryan was the BEST pick Romney could have made. He will EAT UP Joey Plugs in the VP debate. Ol' Joe will leave that debate with his ass in his hands. Man, I'm gonna love watching that.

@Romeo, we love it. Your SSI, Unemployment, SSI, Medicare, Madicaid , Grants,GI Bills, VA loans, Disability will be in toast. You get NADA. Bhahaha. Good luck to you. By electing this team, you are waiving all these listed above. Hope you have enough savings in your piggy bank..

@ globalwatcher: Then that means all of those who get those benefits illegally (i.e illegal aliens, and those who can but choose not to work) will also loose them. I don't think that Romney/Ryan are going to do that. But what they will probably do is make sure that those who get those benefits really do need and have deserved them.

Show me where Ryan has said that he would like to abolish all of those programs.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Do not worry this is Scott Walker's first and last term.

@ globalwatcher: Well if he survived a recall in his state during his first term, I imagine that if he chooses to run again he woulid be able to win.

Many have said that Romney would loose FL since he didn't pick Rubio, I am not so sure. Depending on how the elections go, if the GOP wins a majority of seats in the Sen, then he can pick Rubio in a high profile position since FL has a GOP Gov, and he can pick another GOP person to replace him. If the GOP doesn't pick up a majority in the Senate, they will need someone there with name recognition to fight in the trenches, and there Rubio can make a name for himself for 2016.

Liberalism in America resembles the Founding idea of America at all. The roots of today's Liberal's are found in Europe.

Would it surprise you to learn that the roots of the Founders' ideology are also found in Europe? Or the Founders themselves, for that matter?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@Alphaape, you are very nice royal follower for Romney/Ryan team.I respect that. Hope you had a chance to listen to Romney's speech delivered today. As I said he intentionally avoid including a word of Equality. He thinks there are three important American values: They are Freedom, Justice and Pursuit of Happiness........How about Equality for ALL? When I was a young scholar, I fought for the Civil Rights and this is a very important issue to me and to others.

Ryan is a very strong willed man. He has no negotiation skills including communication (he is ok with this one), collaborating (poor) and compromising (very poor). It is his way and no other way. He successfully killed 4 Budget Balancing Bills last year while Dem and Rep were ready to agree. 4 Times? That's why Super Team could not even produce outcome because of Ryan. Well, speaking about privatization of entitlements, he has already mentioned in public that he will cut entitlements. This guy really means business, so if he is elected, they will be done very quickly.

Speaking about Scott Walker, Paul Ryan, and Scott Brown, they are all backed by TP (America for Prosperity, and others) financed by the Koch Brothers of TX and orchestrated by Karl Rove who is a right wing extremist . This election is their show how many more seats they can get for the congress and if they can take over Presidency. Hope you will be able to examine Karl Rove's upbringing and biography to better understand his mind. Today Koch Brothers donated 2 millions for Romney and Ryan team. FYI

We now clearly understand the difference in ideology what they stands for They proudly say they will take our country back, but they will take us back to 1950 I am afraid. Well, good luck to you, Alphaape. We just need to do what is the best for each of us and for othes who are in poverty and discriminated in society. Freedom, Equality and Justice for ALL.

God Bless America

@Serrano

Mitt just lost New Joisy, New Yo-ku, Calyfornia... pick a state, ha ha!

You are joking right? NJ is slowly getting out of the financial abyss (thanks to Christie) that the liberals put that state into. As for CA and NY Blue all the way, Once economic powerhouses, but again, liberals destroyed and plundered two great states to the point that they won't be making a comeback ANY time soon. The rest of the country is up for grabs.

@Global

They are sending a wrong message: America is ready to go to another war, Hitler used to use this technique to earn his popularity. The Rep are ready to spend another billions in wars again just like Bush did before balancing the budget.

Get off of it will you! So now you are trying to compare Romney to Hitler, what an idiotic statement, so then it would most definitely be safe to compare Obama to Joseph Stalin which actually would be a more accurate and precise comparison. Another 4 years of Trillions (that's with a "T") of dollars of spending. Your guy wanted to stay in Afghanistan and oh, by the way, your guy was all for using and stepping up the drone programs, why? He's much rather do collateral damage and sort through the rubble and DNA than send boots on the ground. But that's ok, and justified because it's Obama's war, huh? Obama could care less about the men and women in uniform, he has absolutely NO idea as to how to protect the country, let alone govern it, well we've seen that, but what scares me the most about libtards is that 8.3 unemployment is totally acceptable to them and we want 4 more years of this????

@Sushi

Let's not forget Ryan voted for TARP, voted for the auto bailout. What a gift. I'm wondering - did Ryan properly vett Romney??

Obama did the Stimulus and what did that do? ROFL What a waste! I wondered to this day, Obama picking "I always stick my foot in my mouth Biden" was THE worst thing since Dan Quayle.

Unlike liberals, conservatives' think that pushing their own family members into the poor house is a good - no, great - idea.

I hate to say this, but it's the other way around. Why is it that liberals are so bad at math, No, take that back, they are good at taking other people's money and sucking them dry until there is nothing left.

I encourage all conservatives - switch off Fox News' misinformation and turn of Rush Limbaugh's hatespeak deluge for a month and see if anything changes in your heads.

This is a good one. So with over 50...again 50 media outlets that are either liberal or Ultra-liberal and give ZERO airtime to traditionalists, conservatives and smart-minded liberals what else is there? By your logic, that means, would essentially have to turn off the TV, avoid reading the paper, since everything, everything tilts left. Talk about misinformation, forced and intravenously delivered and follow the masses, because the wacky liberal media demands me to!

No thank you!

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

@ globalwatcher: You and others keep talking about the Koch brothers. So then you are also saying that Liberal organiztiaons and campaigns financed by George Soros are bad? Then I guess Media Matters and the politicans they back would be just as bad as those backed by the Koch brothers, according to your logic.

As for equality, that goes without saying. Equality is the law of the land. It has been written into the Constitution that all persons are equal under the law. Equality doesn't mean that we are all guarneteed the same outcome, but it means that no matter your race or creed, you have the same equal chances of succeeding, and there are not any legal obstacles like denying you an education or not selling a home to you based on your race.

I don't need Romney to tell me (I am a Black American) that I am equal to him, I know it. Take a look at LA Unified school district. They have the highest paid teachers in the USA, yet their hgih school drop out rate is over 60%. Higher if you are an African American or Hispanic male. LA Unified teachers belong to a union (forced since they have not choice but to pay dues) that largely supports Democratic candidates. So before you start worrying about what Romney didn't say in a speech, I would suggest you be more concerned with the Dems and what they are say they are doing, but not really doing and leavning many minorities left behind in perpetual poverty. All in the name of "equality."

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Obama turned into a Republican and sold out most liberal causes (Goldman apologist, drone-striker, nuclear power advocate). Why not vote for Romney/Ryan, keep the same policies, and give a voice back to the left?

@Von

I wish that were true, but sadly it's just a dream, becaus if Obama is conservative, then that would make Clinton an ultra-far-right NeoCon.

@bass4funk, I suppose you are not reading books at all.or no higher edcation which is a big problem in US. The higher education will encourage you to be a critical thinker and a problem solver to deliver your OWN opinion and idea on Capitalism, Free Trade . There are many books available and I encourage you to read on Hitler. Comparing Obama to Stalin is absurd. Please read a book titled "Wealth of Nation" written by Adam Smith. That's all I can tell you and I do not want to waste my precious time with someone who want to stay IGNORANT.

In reality Scott Walker isn't all that hated given that he won his recall election with a greater percentage of the vote than when he originally won the Governorship. Yes, I do believe that Republicans would really like a repeat of all of that in Wisconsin and in the rest of the country for that matter. Americans need to be told the truth about the dire financial condition that the country is in and the grim future that awaits are children and grandchildren should Barack 'Insane' Obama continue to pursue his suicidal collectivist ideological destruction of America.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@Triumvere:

Would it surprise you to learn that the roots of the Founders' ideology are also found in Europe? Or the Founders themselves, for that matter?

Very good point there Triumvere. I suppose I was thinking in in my mind more of the influences of contemporary Europe on American Liberals rather than the influence of the the political-philosophers of a few centuries earlier such as John Locke. Modern European Liberals (ie. Socialist) have their roots going back to Marx and Engels and the early utopian thinkers of their day. Whereas America followed the ideas of those that believed in natural rights and limited government of the earlier period, Europe went the Marx/Engels collectivist route. Thanks for pointing this out.

Yesterday, at the announcement of his VP Ryan, he said something like, "I would like to introduce the next president of America!". Moron!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Americans need to be told the truth about the dire financial condition that the country is in and the grim future that awaits are children and grandchildren should Barack 'Insane' Obama continue to pursue his suicidal collectivist ideological destruction of America.

@ Wolfpack: A case to justify this statement. Recently it has been discovered that a school district in San Diego county (Poway) a few years ago took out $100 million in bonds to pay for upgardes to their facilities. The district only has 36,000 students. But due to the way the bonds were structured, they will wind up having to pay over $1 billion back when the bonds are paid off. The first major payment on the prnciple is due in 2030 which will be about $300 million. These types of bonds were outlawed in other states. But in CA, once again you have a strongarm tactic by the school boards supported by the unions (which may I remind the readers lean towards the Dems) have burdened the children and grandchildren of this school district with a debt that they didn't incur.

We have been going down that road, and I will admit the GOP is just as guilty, for a long time. Now at least someone like Ryan is not afraid to say "The emperor has no clothes" and people begin to call him out on that. Good luck to him and Mitt, I hope that they win.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Very well stated Alphaape. This spending spree is going on all over the country. California and Illinois are the poster children for America's own financial Greek tragedy. It is beyond me how people can get so emotional about preserving the out of control spending on flawed programs such as SS, Medicaid, or Medicare on the Federal level, dysfunctional education systems and excessive employee benefits on the State level, and ill advised white elephant "development" projects on the local level funded by bonds that saddle communities with huge debt payments that they have no way to repay. The San Diego school district example is typical of the mismanagement that can be seen everywhere. Government needs to focus on the basics.

I think that Conservatives are as motivated or more motivated than they were two years ago when they swept the Dems out of the House and closed the gap in the Senate. Picking Ryan as his VP candidate finally gives people the confirmation they need that Romney is serious about addressing the problems that are threatening to damage the future of the country. This is about the legacy of debt, high unemployment, slow growth, and decline that could be passed on to the nations children and grandchildren should the nation re-elect Obama. I support politicians that focus on the basic mission of government and seek to the public the services they need in the most cost efficient manner. Obama wants to have the government do everything for everyone.

It seems that every election you hear that "this is the most important election of our time". Well, this one is of such great importance that I believe it lives up to that billing. All Obama has to offer is more of the same malaise that he has offered over the last four years.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I wonder how Mitt plans on winning the election knowing he'll lose California, New York and Florida. I also wonder if this isn't just a money grab on his part.

Has Mitt Romney ever shown any love for his homeland?

He spent Vietnam in Europe, receiving 4 deferments.

He made a fortune from outsourcing U.S. jobs to the third world

And now he plans on increasing taxes on 95% of us while giving his Cayman Island buddies a tax break.

I don't think the question is "Is Mitt Romney ready to be president?" I think the question should be, "Is Mitt Romney deserving of American citizenship?" Like everything else in his life, it was given to him. But does he appreciate it? I honestly don't think so.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Can I point out something about the republican budget?

IT'S FREAKING STUPID. Romney and Ryan want to push all the federal programs down to the state level. Outside of North Dakota, is there a single state that is in the black?

How are the states supposed to absorb all of these costs. You see I don't know. That part is never discussed by Paul Ryan. I wonder why that is.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

How are the states supposed to absorb all of these costs.

With all of the money they will get from the Federal government in exchange for taking over the administration of these programs. Government works best that is closest to the people

It's as if some people take information in by listening to the DNC and shut out all sources of information that do not confirm with their political worldview. Let's not listen to other viewpoints or consider other ways of doing things - let's just say whatever it takes to get Obama re-elected...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Paul Ryan was booed when he was in Lakewood, CO.

He is a son of "fountainhead" and he is for ZERO tax on capital gain tax while Romney thinks it should be around 15%.

A son of "fountainhead" is not a party of fiscal conservative team. He is something else. Americans, please wake up. He will take everything away from you for the riches and leads this country to a dust bowl.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

It seems that other than the base, the choice of Paul Ryan isn't too popular. One guy whose positions are harder to nail down than jello to a tree and another guy who used Social Security to pay for his college and now calls it a Ponzi scheme.

Team Obama took the day off.

You're held in pretty low regard when you get in to Quayle numbers.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Picking Ryan is Mitt's Palin moment. Ryan wants to destroy social security, he already tried to do it once when bush the idiot was president. Ryan is a pawn of the Koch money machine that wants 200 people in the USA to own everything and the rest of Americans to be wage slaves. It is that simple. Ryan is their puppet who wraps up the class warfare in delusional Ayn Rand garbage.

The republicans have no quality candidates any longer, all normal folks have been driven out of the party by the loons. Dole was the last normal candidate the republicans put up for President.

And now the money attack dogs of the republican party are trying to swift boat Obama over the OBL death. It is incredible. Bush has years and years to find OBL and did not, Obama gets the job done. And the republicans attack him for it. Its all hatred all the time from the republicans, mostly because Obama is black and smarter than all of them.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Obama has three weeks to ditch Joe Biden, now an openly-joked about anvil dragging down Obama's dwindling chances of re-election and the opportunity to right his failed presidency. Even Sarah Palin is advising Democrats to pressure the president into putting Hillary on the ticket.
