In related news, millions of fathers are over the moon at the births of their sons.

Commentators believed the baby, the Queen's eighth great-grandchild, was due in late April and Britons have been on tenterhooks when the month ended without news of the birth.

Just as small point, but the word ‘some’ is applicable between ‘and’ and ‘Britons’ in this sentence.

Another mouth for the UK taxpayer to feed....

@kurusupisu: Are you a UK taxpayer?

Congratulations to the happy couple.

kurusupisu: Are you a UK taxpayer?

I don’t know about kurusupisu, but I will soon be a UK taxpayer again and I don’t find another addition to the tax bill a cause for celebration.

These royal kids don’t come cheap. His brother and his wife have bred enough of them to keep the pantomime going.

@Jimizo - My question was to kurusupiso.

I'm assuming that you also empathise paying taxes here for the year long abdication/acession?

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has given birth to a boy

That’s a little presumptuous isn’t it?

Assigning both sex and gender when the kid hasn’t yet expressed which of the 72 shades it feels like.

So cute to watch Harry's excitement and joy and love for his wife and new baby.

Congratulations to both!  Any good news is welcomed!

Later on, when you're ready, you can share him with the world. For now, just be a loving family and congratulations on doing this Your Way!

Old people who remember “the war” will rejoice, middle aged will be very extremely happy that the top news story doesn’t include the word Britexit, and young people will say, not another toff for us to pay for.

the United Kingdom.

Having been in the UK recently twice, I think you would be very surprised (@goodlucktoyou) about what young English people think about the Royal Family at present. If you could tell me about your experiences there recently and the conversations you have overheard in Pubs and Cafes I'd love to hear about them. Everything I hear is positive about the young Royals.

Congratulations to Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex on the birth of a 7lbs 3oz baby boy The Duke was on hand to administer the Laughing Gas.

Media in he UK report The Duchess being whisked off to a London Hospital rumoured to be the Portland.

I have unashamed support for the British Monarchy, in horror and terror that Great Britain Head of State falling into the lap of sociopath war criminal Tony Blair, bumbling buffoon Boris Johnson, or the walking dread Theresa May.

"Meghan, who is mixed race, was an actress in the United States before marrying Harry last year at Windsor Castle." Is this ALWAYS gonna be there as a reminder she is not white and a "commoner" ????? Why the constant need to point out her skin color and background ???

Congratulations Royals!

Day and age we live in. The writer obviously thought that not mentioning it would get him doxed. Either that or he thought it was his best shot at getting some action with the ladies.

Pretty cynical attitude if you ask me.

Blessings to Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan on the birth of Baby Sussex!!! Enjoy your private family time. Marvel as you count his little fingers and toes and decide whom he most looks like. Change diapers and just be a closed circle of love containing only the three of you and God.

Oh well, contratulations to Prince Harry and the Dutchess of Sussex on the birth of their son, and to the millions of new fathers all over the world.

It need not be a politician as an elected head of state. It could be someone coming from academia.

Even if it is a politician, if that’s what the electorate choose, so be it.

Maybe I am paranoid, at present politically the UK is a basket case. The cost of UK “constitutional” monarchy could well prove to be a price worth paying.

I have lost all trust and confidence, that the establishment elite would not in the event of such monumental change weave a web of deceit, and conspire a method to shoe-in there chosen President.

I do believe the Royals have evolved, certainly making a positive role in society. The Duke and Duchess new arrival is welcome good news in a sometime landscape of doom and gloom.

The civil list has gone through some reforms and changes since 1952...

Why mention Meghan is mixed race? They did mention Harry's race.
