USNinJapan2 - You don't think his experience and qualifications as a combat pilot would suffice if he ever HAD to find work?

Harry could still join the U.S. military, or transport supplies to Canadian hunting camps.

Good for them. They should run, run as fast as they can and not look back. Charles has said he wants to drastically slim down the Royal Family when he is king, Harry and Meghan are setting an example.

To all those sneering - she was a successful acress and he served as an officer in the Army before setting up and running charities. They should have no problem earning an income.

I'm in the UK at the moment and. despite the narrative pushed by the hateful papers who have slagged off Meghan since she met Harry, most comments I've heard, seen, read on TV, radio and online since the announcement have been supportive of the couple. Even in the pub at lunchtime we didn't hear one person who think they are wrong to do this.

The only error the have made was not speaking to the Queen first. That's just bad manners.

So instead of Prince Harry will he now be known as plain old Harry Hewitt?

It might be part of Meghans plan to control Harry and brain wash him with her liberal ideas - get him out of the UK then sponge off the American and Canadians.

LOL at the trash talking here. Dunno if James O' Brien is a monarchist or not but this kind of sums it up:

'How dare people decide not to spend their lives being subjected to lazy abuse, vitriol, misogyny and racism,' say purveyors of lazy abuse, vitriol, misogyny and racism.

It's a sad story, Meghan and Harry being driven out of the UK by racist filth from the extreme right on the tabloid newspapers forums. Add to that the Mail on Sunday stealing a note from Meghan to her mother and both the Sun and the Daily Mirror attempting to hack their cellphones, it's no wonder they've had enough.

Deranged drivel like this, in fact.

Doesn’t bother me as long as they aren’t living the high life on the taxpayer’s expense.

Selling the global TV rights to their wedding not only covered the costs but actually made a profit. I'm no monarchist but I'm not having the hate campaign pushed by Rupert Murdoch via the knuckle-dragging neanderthals who infest the internet.

The same stupid ideas are rampant in the UK, so I don´t really see the logic here

A positive development.

Easy to say, but they will still cash in on the celebrity status based on who they are

Meghan Markle can easily find work in the U.S., but Henry Charles Albert David Mountbatten-Windsor is lacking useful job skills.

He could be a stay-at-home Dad.

I agree, it seems she is planning to get him resettled in Canada or California. That’s the 2 places her liberal agenda will allow her to be more relevant than he is, which seems to be the goal. Linked to the royals she can’t go on an all out liberal barrage.

I have always anyway had a suspicion that Harry is not entirely a Windsor. look at any family photo of the bunch and he stands out like a sore thumb.

Prince Harry's remarkable resemblance to James Hewitt, his mother's former lover, is a complete coincidence, I tell you.

Friends in the UK are referring to it as "Megxit"

Poor Meghan, press is so unfair to her.

but when she wants to push some liberal agenda of the day they are right there to help her amplify it.

leave me alone! Followed immediately by why does no one pay any attention to me??

A statement issued Wednesday evening by Buckingham Palace said the royal couple intend to become financially independent, shunning funds from the Sovereign Grant, to underpin their work on charities and intend to “balance” their time between the U.K. and North America.

Meghan Markle can easily find work in the U.S., but Henry Charles Albert David Mountbatten-Windsor is lacking useful job skills. Marketing maybe? Car salesman?

If Meghan/Harry think they have been hounded by entertainment media outlets to date, wait until they are no longer under the protection of the British Crown. Look at life of Harry's mom, Diana, after her divorce. Of course, as an actress, Markle understands the necessity, and usefulness, of barraging the public with public relations propaganda while looking for new artistic projects to perform in.

ie get a job. It's what we all do.

Megan could go back to acting, apparently she was quite good at it.

She could easily earn enough to keep all three of them comfortable.

I agree with Toasted. Nothing to see here, move along.

More of the bunch should follow their example.

No offence to the couple but they should have done this long ago. Monarchies are outdated and pointless.

Its a start! Hopefully the UK can rid itself of all these parasites on tax payers money.

They’ll still be accepting the public’s cash to fund their lavish lifestyle.

Good for them! They deserve, no less than any other human being, a measure of peace and privacy. And Archie deserves a childhood without cameras constantly being shoved in his face. Harry has no chance of becoming king, so his constant presence at court isn't necessary anyway. They can support HMQ (and Charles and William, soon enough) from a home base in Canada. Good for them, good for them, good for them. I wish them peace.
