'...too much army and not enough prince' as an explanation for his conduct? That should read 'too much prince and not enough army'. We are well used to ridiculous behaviour and comments from our royals. Talk about disrespect for our armed forces!

This is the part I liked,
" “But at the end of the day I was in a private area and there should be a certain amount of privacy that one should expect."
Yes, I agree with the privacy bit, as long as that right to privacy extends to all, and not just the elite few.
But bragging about his kills may have endangered not only himself and kin but other Brits in the future by radicals.

This article completely misconstrues Prince Harry's remarks. Especially re: the video game correlation, that was about what he did in his off-duty hours, not a comparison to his responsibilities as a pilot.
The passage
Agree with this - saw bits and pieces of the interview and makes much more sense now. TBH though, I still don't think this can be classed as bragging, even in the context of the article above. Other forums have also commented on the "take a life to save a life" comment, but for heavens sake, what exactly do those people think soldiers do?
Also enjoyed his dig at the media, and made his disgust for them very clear "you (i.e. the media) are only here (inside the camp interviewing him) because a deal was made that you don't speculate about my deployment in advance". Alert goes off and he sprints to his plane to fly into a danger zone. Not the actions of a spoilt royal brat.

Good for you Harry!
The passage
Smith - which bit is he bragging about? Honestly can't find it in the text.
I think he's an OK guy. If the pres would leave him alone he'd probably make a good soldier tbh.
However that bit worries me that he might try to be a little too willing to show how brave he is and ending up (at best) dead himself or (at worst) result in deaths of others that he is with. Hope he can keep a steady head. The only bit I didn't like was where he compared everything to TV games - not good!

When the U.S. withdraws from Afghanistan and the war ends, look for the Taliban to come roaring back into power. If that happens, I doubt if Prince Harry would make a good British ambassador to Afghanistan ... nor play any other role in working with a Taliban-run government.

"Take a life to save a life"
In the case of taking a Taliban life to save someone who doesn't have such a low regard for others, I concur.
Nessie
Unfortunate that anyone should have to be killed, but if it's going to be anyone, then Taliban is as good as it gets.

"It was probably a classic example of me probably being too much army and not enough prince.”
Every red-blooded twenty something should be free to frolic. Never played strip billiard/poker/fish, Jimizo?

I never disliked this kid by any means, but any respect I had for him has been lessened. If he was in a firefight or two and killed some people, well, I suppose that's the tragic nature of war. But to brag about it to the media? Doesn't matter who your enemy is -- it's twisted.

In war, people will be killed. The prince was simply doing his duty

Translation:
When he is not getting "jiggy" in Las Vegas hotels, he is playing xBox or shooting "Zombies" in Afghanistan.
-obviously a normal life.
And people wonder why there are school shootings?
nath
Wow, be thankful? Ri....ght, no wonder they hate people like you. we have no business being there in first place.
Serrano
"we have no business being there in ( the ) first place"
Yes, we should have just left the Taliban alone to continue keeping girls from going to school and harboring Bin Laden, lol.

Let's just ignore the fact that you and 'your guys' are flying around over their country. If people try to do bad stuff to our guys in the UK, that's the time to 'take them out of the game'.
Only a classless jerk equates killing real people - even 'bad guys' - with playing games on a machine.
Serrano
Amazing how some people refuse to be grateful for people like Harry who put their lives on the line keeping the rest of us safe and free.
davestrousers
The only likeable member of the royal family, ever.
cleo
His duty does not include bragging about how killing real people is the same as playing video games, or taking his kit off at parties.
