How cowardly, to pretend to come to him on good faith with flowers and then stab him?

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

There is a LOT of chatter and fierce speculation that this was staged. Not a true attack

The perpetrator was most definitely a mainland PLA grunt, dressed in plain clothes. All to legitimize the peaceful protests and make the oppressive government look better in comparison.

delegitimize*

It seems inevitable that the PLA will step in to crush these freedom fighters.

Norwegianboy:

So only the "bad guys" do bad things? Believe everything is fake news too? Thats as bad as saying 9-11 was an inside job or Tiananmen Square was a western plot to undermine china.

@junimRhee

There's already undeniable proof that the PLA is dressing up as Hong Kong police and beating up protesters. Why shouldn't we believe such a wicked and unrepentant regime as the CCP wouldn't lower itself to assassinating it's own people to control the narrative? I'm not saying this is 100% certain to be true, i'm just pointing out that it wouldn't surprise me if it was revealed that the attack was planned by the CCP to undermine the protests.

@JuminRhee

Ever heard about the Russian apartment bombings? Those were planned attacks by Putin against his own people, but he framed it as if it were the Chechen's that performed the bombing and used the terrible incident as a way to increase his own approval rating. Standard tactics, do something inhumane then blame it on your enemies and use the event as a way to rally support in your own ranks.

I have no doubts at all of what horrible acts these undemocratic and unelected leaders are capable of.

Beijing and Lam refusing to offer a political solution is costing investors billions and billions.

They need to go, take Junius Ho and all the unelected leaders with them.

A firebrand pro-Beijing politician in Hong Kong

Now that takes guts. Or maybe stupidity. HK is not yet under the thumb of the communists.

Well, the attacker did not have any mask on, and his face can be seen everywhere. So, maybe we should confirm his identity first before we speculate if this was staged on not.

Violent thugs.

Scary how the brainwashed masses out there approve of such violence.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Colonial system never worked without terror.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

HK people were happy under British rule.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Akie, you are saying China and the CCP are imposing a colonial system on HK by violence? I never thought I would see the day!

This is quite believable. The CCP has long been accused of - by multiple sources including 'non-Western' sources - such awful things as detention camps, organ harvesting and the 'forced bedding' of Uighur women.

Yet, this same CCP government would somehow NEVER stoop to a planned attack? Apparently, the CCP is so principled that it would draw the line at a staged attack.

The media won’t report it, but the protestors have confirmed that it was indeed a CPP infiltrator who bit off the man’s ear in an attempt to make the protestors look bad.

Winnie the Xi must be freaking out if he’s taking these measures to undermine the protestors. China is supposed to be tough yet the citizens of a small island have been saying “up yours, we fight for freedom” for months now, exposing Beijing’s horrendous lack of respect of basic human rights, as well as exposing their inability to actually be able to control the people.

The people of Taiwan must be loving this. It’s time for them to officially declare themselves an independent nation, and now is the time for the world to properly acknowledge their status as an independent nation. Nations haven’t done this until now because they were afraid of the CPP, but the people of HK have shown that the CPP is weak.

Free Tibet, free the Uighurs, free HK and free Taiwan. Human rights must be respected and the CCP must be forced to respect them by the rest of the world while the CPP is weak.

It seems you would just accept Communist PRC taking over whatever they want. The freedom and democracy loving HK citizens are not like you.

The thugs are the Communists and their puppet non elected "leaders" in HK, as well as businesses who are Communist sympathisers, like Starbucks and Cathay Pacific.

This whole "attack" seems staged and set up by Communists to make the democracy protesters look bad. It wont work.

Democracy for HK! Down with Communism!

Colonial system never worked without terror.

Wow, Akie. You said something I can agree with.

HK people were happy under British rule.

Bollocks!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

HK people were happy under British rule.

Ignoring the question of whether or not this is true, so? What relevance does this have to anything? Are you trying to say that they should suck it up and accept CPP rule because of the above statement? Or pointing out that it’s unfair the people of HK have never been free?

I just saw the video. This is hilariously obvious. Clearly staged, laughably heavy handed. Notice how PERFECT the Cell Phone Camera angle was, how PERFECT the timing was, how the 'assailant' had spoke a very honorable - but sneaky - way to Ho and then - ta da! - stabs Ho just like in a Hollywood movie. All captured perfectly for the camera.

My goodness the CCP will stop at nothing.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

A guy gets attacked and instead of condemning violence we get a whole bunch of tinfoil hat theories about what happened.

What are you talking about? I condemned the CPP for their violence above.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Strangerland, no. I was pointing out that the British authority in HK was in stark contrast to that of mainland China. HKers would give anything to have the Brits back.

The HK protesters are huge Trump fans, btw.
