SolidariTea; Unlike amny i am not rightr opr left wing or feel the need to allign to any party. The tone of your posts fit in with American right wing posts. I am not saying you are not well travelled, i am also.

have i said "they want what i want and just don't know it"? Never said anything like that. Preferably people like Gahdaffi and those in charge of many Middle East countries would not be tolerated. Due to oil they are.Due to also the masses demanding cheap oil(petrol) there are not massive protests against close ties with tryants from oil producing nations.

I see no change in that policy and no change in people like Ghadaffi or possibly worse taking control of these nations and being supported by my and other Western governments.

Solidaritea; Low Iq equals lo intelligence. That is what you are saying. Your right wing politics and the media you watch allows you to feel immune to common sense and decency to those in far away places, whom you assume to be lower than average.

If I were "right wing" (and you undoubtedly mean this to include "racist", in the craven and mistaken belief you can shame me into silence and end rational debate on the matter ) I would be on here saying Italy (or your native Britain - yes, I have had a look at your other posts) should re-invade and re-occupy the place, ditto w/France for Tunisia and Britain for Egypt.

I'm not.

I live in Japan btw - quite far from where I was born and raised. I am well-traveled.

People are different; Life ain't fair.

I know Leftists don't like to hear these two unsettling facts but that doesn't change the force they have in all our lives.

I base what I said on the history of the region, the ideologies extant there and the demographics.

What is your prediction for Libya? Got anything other than your sentimental protests that people are all "equal" and want what you want but they just don't know it????

I don't have a problem but you certainly do.

so you are saying ethnic Africans are less intelligent than other countries and cannot govern properly.

No, I am not. Nor would I describe the very mixed population of Libya as "ethnic African". (I have Berber friends and acquaintances who like to say genetically they may be closer to Celts.Look into the slave trade that so affected the region now called Libya). I am merely citing what I have read. Do the search. IQ and North Africa or a permutation on that.if you feel offended by the truth it is your problem, not my "right wing" politics. I believe tribalism to be the far more decisive factor, and then just add the deleterious influence of Islamic social engineering, consanginuous marriages etc.

SWolidariTea; so you are saying ethnic Africans are less intelligent than other countries and cannot govern properly. Mmmm, interesting how the extreme right view the problems and the peole involved.

It's Libya. The average IQ in the region is below 90. There is no happy ending here. Just another strongman, more conspiracies, blaming all yer problems on America etc etc

He added that the instability in Libya constituted an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to U.S. national security and foreign policy.

And the US hasn't contributed to instability in the Middle East & North Africa over the past 40 years or so by supporting Israel & turning a blind eye to obedient dictators?? Utter hypocrisy from OBAMA (One Big Ass Mistake America). So what threat does this pose to US national security?? It's too late, invading Iraq & Afghanistan has done far worse damage to 'security' at home. Why did he not move quicker to freeze the assets of Bin Ali (Tunisia) & Mubarak??

More double standards.

Bright thinking from the UN, US and all who think (claim) they are trying to help the people of Libya.

The US? Khadafee was our enemy. The Lockerbie bombing was his work. He is not using US - supplied jets to strafe the streets of Libyan towns and murder his own ppl. His thuggish sons were quite popular in Europe, invited to Davos, frequenting the famous resorts, gilded by the lefty elites precisely because of the hatred of America they shared with their bloodthirsty father.

Finally the West starts doing something and what do they do, they box the rat in so that he has no way out (even if he wanted one). Gaddafi, his family and friends now have only one option, fight it out. Bright thinking from the UN, US and all who think (claim) they are trying to help the people of Libya. The only safe place for Gaddafi and Co. is Libya under Gaddafi control. Sounds like the makings of a blood bath.

There is clearly a tsunami of irrational behavior building up that may threaten to inundate the US as well.

I fail to see what the turmoil in Libya, which has likely never achieved any semblance of civil society, has to do with the US.

This could perhaps escalate into a huge war if the people in power allied themselves against the protesters.

Utter BS. There is nothing irrational about it (unless you are talking about Col. Crazy). This upheaval has been a long time comming, and the entire Arab world has been one big powder keg just waiting for a spark.

Many years ago, British writer Colin Wilson examined the phenomenon of how some countries just seem to go crazy. He had a few interesting theories, but for lack of a definitive explanation, he used the term "mind parasites." It's certainly not confined to North Africa and the Middle East. There is clearly a tsunami of irrational behavior building up that may threaten to inundate the US as well.

That being said, why all this unrest now? It's not like his leadership style has recently taken a change for the worse....

There is no more reason for it now then there would have been 6 months or 6 years ago... It's a convenient time for somebody... Who ? who really knows... religious opposition ? political opposition ? democratic movement ? foreign interest ( governmental and non-governmental ) in Libya's resources ? political revenge ?

MK has always exibited that he has absolutely no "compassion against killing" so who are the idiots fanning the flames that are getting civilians / pawns / cannon fodder killed... And even more of interest is "What is their Endgame / Goal"....

OIL....

That is what life & death is about in these nations - tale the oil away and it's just another under-reported civil insurrection / genocides like in 25% of the rest of Africa...

A shame really but WHY do people think that they can approach a rabid insane dog and get rid of it by poking it with a stick ???

I heard a lot of Italian militiamen were being brought in.

That being said, why all this unrest now? It's not like his leadership style has recently taken a change for the worse.

haruka--

he's paying his "supporters" and bringing in militiamen from other countries. They don't feel bad about killing civilians, as they are not their countrymen.

How does this man have supports with him being so mean and bad?
