November it all ends

Trump for president again? Who should be running mate? How about Eric Greitens? He is totally MAGA. Check out what he wants to do for RINOs. Now that's MAGA. Some Trump people want Ron Desantis, but Trump hates Desantis and won't let him run for the Trump/MAGA/Fox party. It would have to be Trump/Greitens. And Trump will pardon Matt Gaetz.

Hope they file those lawsuits

Do they have a case? And what can Trump do for them when he becomes president in 2024 with Eric Greitens as VP?

Really don't need to because I know this will happen and the Dems know it as well. If they could put these people in for life or Trump away they would have done it by now,

This isn't an authoritarian state. How many times have you taken a matter to an actual court with an attorney representing you? Due process takes time. Filing takes time. Discovery (prosecutors and defense attorneys have to share evidence they will submit to the judge) takes time. The Perry Mason moment where some unexpected piece of evidence is presented that sends the bad guy off to jail or gets them acquitted in real life gets attorneys butts chewed for not sharing that evidence with the opposing counsel beforehand. All of this has to be accomplished before a trial can be scheduled. Courts have their own schedules not driven by the news cycle or what Congress is doing on a given day.

Bass - are you predicting that people won't be charged for 1/6 after November? That's a bold prediction. I'll take that bet if you are serious.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Many more will be charged yet. Over 2000 entered the building.

Yeah, uh-huh…well, time is sadly and regrettably not on the Dems side when it comes to this, because after November it all ends,

Clearly wrong and a lack of understanding how the process works - all indictments are at the discretion of the DOJ which Merrick Garland will remain as AG - this Nov has nothing to do with it...

so the Dems need to hurry and lock these people up for the next few months before changing of the guard.

The only guard being changed are the ones checking the cells on these seditionists and the leader who betrayed them...LOL...

I am predicting that time is running out for them to prosecute these people

WRONG

The general federal statute of limitations for felonies stand for the proposition that the government can no longer file criminal charges for an offense once 5 years has passed.

(law quote)

Three more years is a lot of time for this

quite a few will sue the Federal government for a multitude of civil and constitutional rights.

WRONG

It's the other way around:

Washington, DC sues to recover millions of dollars from Jan. 6 rioters

(news quote)

4 ( +4 / -0 )

What will make these trials interesting is the evidence presented at the Jan 6th committee hearings that Trump KNEW he lost, and that he and the rest of Team Crazy were lying to the MAGA-masses when screaming about fraud, inciting them to storm the Capitol...to "fight like hell and take our country back"....

Like so many of the MAGA-zealots who have been tried beforehand, how many of these Proud Boys are going to feel betrayed - and come clean on the Repubs in the WH and Congress they were plotting with...who also need to be tried for sedition...

Interesting, but not surprising, to see the MAGA-defenders praising the Proud Boys - a far-right, neo-fascist domestic terrorist group that embraces white genocide conspiracy theories....but not one comment supporting the brave Capitol Police officers that were the victims of their violence... Some law and order....

MAGA-world is crumbling...

You really believe that huh? Interesting. You know this is a law issue and it is not just ‘the Dems’ who are pursuing this.

But click your little ruby slippers together and cross your fingers real tight, who knows?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

If they could put these people in for life or Trump away they would have done it by now, they haven't and that is why more and more people are calling BS on this sham trial

You're conflating the January 6 Commission's report and the trials of people who breached the capitol. Congress has nothing to do with trials.

--You know this is a law issue and it is not just ‘the Dems’ who are pursuing this.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what the Dems keep telling us....

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Dems this and Dems that. Sorry, but your argument makes no sense.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

--the trials of people who breached the capitol. Congress has nothing to do with trials.

I know, they shouldn't but it seems they actually do to a certain point.

Well then, please explain how Congress is involved in the trials of your heroes, the Proud Boys.

“More than 800 people have been charged with federal crimes related to the riot.”

Federal.

But the law and order advocates will tell you there is nothing to see here.

They should all be out by this time next year. Hope they file those lawsuits

A prediction? Sure.

Many more will be charged yet. Over 2000 entered the building.

Even the ones who acted violently?!?

Bass - Based on what you had written earlier, if sounded like you were predicting that people won't be getting charged for 1/6 after November. ("it all ends"). Do you see why someone might think that? Clarity in words and deeds, please!

Based on what you had written earlier, if sounded like you were predicting that people won't be getting charged for 1/6 after November. ("it all ends").

That is correct.

As far as your second comment, you had just confirmed that the original meaning is correct and now you are saying that anyone who understood your comment to mean what you have now confirmed it means, means that they are devoid of reality? I know you comment a lot and your replies come fast and furious, but they are not always clear.

Bass - what he means is that it is the DOJ (Executive Branch) who is pursuing charges, not Congress (Legislative Branch).

3 ( +3 / -0 )

--your argument makes no sense.

Neither do the Democrat's DTS

Touché.

If they could put these people in for life or Trump away they would have done it by now, they haven't and that is why more and more people are calling BS on this sham trial, but let them have their 15 min of fun, fame again.

Time and time again you show a lack of understanding of criminal process and basic law in the US.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

No, I am predicting that time is running out for them to prosecute these people

The current Attorney General has, as a practical matter, until 2024 to file cases against January 6th rioters. Even if both houses of Congress revert to Republican control in the upcoming elections that has no effect on what the Attorney General does. Congress has no authority to interfere with the Department of Justice in this matter. They can grill the AG to their hearts content in committee meetings and call him every name in the book on TV but they cannot legally stop a sitting AG from prosecuting the rioters.

Then they are devoid of reality if that is the case.

No, I am predicting that time is running out for them to prosecute these people and that the sentencing won't be that long and that quite a few will sue the Federal government for a multitude of civil and constitutional rights.

That's a bold prediction.

Not really, what this sham committee has done was bold

I'll take that bet if you are serious.

Please!

They can grill the AG to their hearts content in committee meetings and call him every name in the book on TV but they cannot legally stop a sitting AG from prosecuting the rioters.

True, but Garland is also thinking about his political future, so I doubt he will go further with this leading into 2024, and again, the Dems want him to prosecute Trump, the man knows that is not going to happen, so the only other thing he can do as the law loosely allows him is to throw his party a bone of sorts and this is what all this is about, prosecute someone and let their constituents see that you are taking a proactive stance. Interesting to say the least.

As far as your second comment, you had just confirmed that the original meaning is correct and now you are saying that anyone who understood your comment to mean what you have now confirmed it means, means that they are devoid of reality? This isn't an authoritarian state.

When Conservatives run the show, but when Dems run it, it's not?

I understand but at the same time, Washington has a way of making things happen when they want or need it to happen and the Dems also understand the consequences of repercussions, it takes a while for them to learn from their mistakes, had they not have been so greedy with power bloodlust they would still own the Supreme Court, but thanks to Harry Reid blowing up the filibuster in the Senate, that undoing was the best thing for the GOP, Garland knows this and is wise for thinking about going ahead with charging Trump because if he does that, then the Republicans will find a way to go after and jail their Democrat rivals. So I just don't think Garland wants to go down that road. Dems are about to lose it all and Garland is trying to save them from falling over a cliff.

Easy the same way that Congress is making sure certain Trump excerpts from his speech were omitted, why would they answer questions about Ray Epps, why won't they show us 1500 hours of surveillance video to the public, why won't they give us details about Ashley Babitt, why weren't the Miranda rights read for these protesters, and if it was an overthrow of the government, how on Earth do you do it without firearms? And on and on. I get it, Trump bad, I get it, selectively search for the evidence that works in your favor.
