A civilized society would have introduced fines, maybe jail time.

But the CCP ensures China will never be a civilized nation!!!

A civilized society would have introduced fines, maybe jail time.

Parading people around like that is the sign of an immature society that hasn't outgrown the 'witch-hunting' days, and it also shows a gross lack of civility. It's uncouth. Isn't 'communism' supposed to be more civilized than that?

But the CCP ensures China will never be a civilized nation!!!

China has a long proud glorious history, a civilization lasting 6000 - 7000 years. But with the CCP in charge of it now, it's just plain rotten. Absolutely horrid and wretchedly rotten.

This is from China state media so if you need help translating it = is a lot worse than that!

I have doubts that the data is anywhere near accurate. The question is should we add 1, 2, 3, or 4 zeros to the numbers?

I suppose they aren't outright lying, since 1+ could mean 1,000,000+ too.

Its difficult to criticize what china is doing to mitigate the spread of a deadly virus compared to whatever country we are currently living in and commenting on a Japanese news comment forum.

They are criminals .

Stopping the spread of a deadly virus at a country border is a serious issue .

Besides - how is this negatively affecting us anyway !

Whichever country you are living in, I am assuming that freedom of speech is granted as a basic right. If you were in China which you seem to admire so much, it would be impossible to criticize CCP actions unless you were using VPN to access sites beyond the Great Firewall of China.

Absolutely shameful from the Communist Chinese government. This is not the way to treat these poor citizens.

Hopefully citizens will ultimately rise up, and go after public servants, gov't officials, police, the military and communist party members - men or women. They are ALL legitimate targets for freedom fighters.

Is anyone really surprised by this action from China? I am not.

Funny how so many comments ignore the bit about how the CHINESE GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE GOVERNMENT DOING THIS. It was a provincial government ignoring the national government declaring that this was not allowed.

That's the thing about people screaming their blind hatred of something, they blind themselves to the facts.

True, but don't trust VPNs that China allows.

The CCP-Chinese only allow VPNs with already hacked encryption methods. We've known over a year that TLS v1.2 was cracked. TLS v1.3 should be all that any VPN or HTTPS website should be using the last year. When I removed TLS v1.2 support from my web properties about 16 months ago, the attacks from, ... er ... cough ... a very large Asian country known for attacking foreign internet sites ... cough ... dropped about 99%.

If you want the best known secure VPN, use IPSec with 2FA.

The funny thing about Chinese governments, even down to local level are ALL CCP members!!!

So you can absolve the National Government if your willing to overlook that they are the senior party members to the lower ranks of local governments. Actions speak louder than words. As long as the National Government does not stop this practice and punish those who illegally brought it back, they send a message of quiet support.
