There won't be any invasion! Putin is a fox and is playing the west. But US wants war to take peoples attention away from problems back home. This is going to be so embarrassing for the US administration, but they will try to spin it so that they can say 'Russians didn't invading because they were so scared of us' just like what they said after the collapse of the Soviet Union, it had nothing to do with US, but they took credit for it...

Considering the CIA failed to know that Kabul would fall in a few days, or that the USSR was on the verge of collapse - things any taxi driver could have told them - I find it hard to believe they suddenly have a bug directly in Putin's ear.
