Puttie orders big toys to cover up for his failures during the pandemic. Poor Puttie.

The writing is on the wall. The big bear is coming out of hibernation.

Nothing like a military show to distract the masses.

Putin is re-emphasizing his liking for AI hi-tech weapons. He has been equipping his troops with most updated military gears incessantly.

"Many of our weapons have the capabilities that have no analogues in the world, and some will remain unrivaled for a long time to come"

Russia already has an impressive arsenal of missiles and the one of the best (if not the best) missile technology in the world. That is why it is unfair of the US to pressurize countries to stop buying Russian arms and instead go for US weapons.

Unlike the US, Russia has not troops illegally in other countries and is not warmongering. It is entirely reasonable for Putin to maintain a strong military, especially seeing how Nato (which has no reason to exist today, it should have been dissolved together with the Warsaw Pact), is aggressively encroaching on Russias border. Putin is a responsible leader, unlike his counterparts in the other superpowers.

Is the Arctic, the globe's next big battleground?

Russia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, , Sweden and the United States all have claimed jurisdiction there. and China has claimed it's a near-Arctic state.

Look for another clash of empires, and another part of the planet to be environmentally ravaged so globe's .0%, the predatory capitalists can further fatten their bank accounts.

As the seas rise. And the forests burn.

No the bear is not coming out of hibernation, it is busy bankrupting it’s self for the aggrandisement of its effective dictator. Russia is attempting to compete with the USA on an economy the size of Italy’s. It’s the Russian people who have to pay the price in poverty.

Russia is 90% landlocked, it has no practical need for a large expensive blue water fleet. It’s real defence needs are land/air based. They will rue wasting resources on this when China decides that all that under utilised land would be more efficiently used populated and growing food for the Chinese masses.

Regardless of Putins bromance with Pooh bear the Russian people living in the east are already nervous of the number of Chinese and Chinese owned/run farms there.

Maybe Putin should be using that money to improve the lives of his fellow Russian people

Russia doesn't have that high of a GDP (between Canada and South Korea) to be engaging in an arms race

It's the hypersonic missiles that keep the Pentagon planners up at night.

Until we see it in real-life action, everything always looks good on paper

(Remember Reagan's Star Wars program that made the Soviets piss in their pants)

Unlike the US, Russia has not troops illegally in other countries and is not warmongering.

Crimea. No matter what anyone's view about whom should Crimea belong to, there's no way anyone can argue it was obtained legally

And Libya. Those Russian "mercenaries" aren't there without the Kremlin's implicit approval (those are the same Russian mercenaries that were in Donbas, Ukraine)

And those Russian not-so-secret agents that have been assassinating dissidents in Europe. Not all warmongering are done by soldiers in uniform

Dunno why ya chose to ignore these

China has claimed it's a near-Arctic state.

Lol, yeah that is one of the most ridiculous!

They're trying to claim all of the South China Sea in the tropics! Yet they're claiming near-Arctic?! Lol
