He is a dictator and a KGB agent (don't think it doesn't exit) who thinks like Don Quijote. He will take every "windmill" and stand back and watch as the world's population wrings its collective hands. Putin is no gentleman, but he is a dreamer who longs for the past (USSR.) It is as simple as that.

In other word "from Russia with lies" to the rest of the world. Too bad for Russian soldiers since your parents don't even know where, how, and what you might die for? It is against emperor Putin's new law to wonder of soldier status if anyone is missing under the banner of state secret. Once a communist, it acts like a commie. A backward step for Russia.

State secrets are sickness. This particular type, everyone else already has.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

And the Russians cheer! I love it. :)

Google how dead Soviet soldiers' mothers had an arguably larger role in the demise of the Soviet Union than did Reagan's military buildup to see the cause of Putin's concern.

What's that got to do with the point? Nice diversion thought. The massive spy network of the USA has not been able to provide one once of truth to the "Russian troops in Ukraine" as of today. Funny, they can record Merkel's phone calls though. Leguna seems to want to ignore the power of satellite surveillance. Well, follow him or her if you want, but intelligent people tend to question power.

@hameln

Rebel leaders have publicly thanked Russia for their support

Do you speak Russian or Ukrainian? Did you hear it yourself, or somebody told you about that? And don't forget - rebel leaders may thank Russia for support (Russia indeed supports the rebels), but it does not mean they thanked the Russian Army

Youtube is full of low quality videos of Russian tanks in Ukraine

How do you know it were Russian tanks in Ukraine, and not tanks of the Ukrainian army? Or Russian tanks deep in the Russian territory? Or just Russian-made tanks anywhere in the world, let's say in Poland, Hungary or Croatia?

Everybody who wants to find evidence, has found it.

Oh, yes, you definitely did. Just like WMD in Iraq in 2003.

The photographer also saw Russian military vehicles at a training camp some 50 kilometers from the border.

=> Most people would expect Russian military vehicles in Russia.

Foreign fighters in Ukraine have been going on for some time, but mostly on the Kiev side.

...any “information revealing losses of personnel… in peacetime during special operations.”

Pretty clear why this is happening: Ukraine. Russian soldiers are sent there and die and are secreted home and buried, and it is now illegal for their families to protest. Those like FizzBit who find any close parallel with the United States have a losing argument.

Google how dead Soviet soldiers' mothers had an arguably larger role in the demise of the Soviet Union than did Reagan's military buildup to see the cause of Putin's concern.

And, in other news, Putin makes information about the Russian president's wealth a state secret and sharing information about it a crime punishable by the knout. Russian population applauds sagaciousness of dear leader and vows eternal obedience.

It's not that the government need to disclose troop deaths in peacetime operations.

It's that people who report about those deaths could be prosecuted.

Meaning, if Edward Snowden reports about it, he could be prosecuted just for that. Do ya guys want people like Snowden to be prosecuted just for that?

@Asakaze No I don't speak Russian. Some videos have the exact location where these are shot and reveal tanks which Ukraine has never had. But I am no military nor Ukraine expert, so everything is the third party information.

But how about the interview? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3khPZucwTQ

Last summer, after the shooting down of the Malaysian airliner, there were "absolutely reliable" photos and videos of "Russian BUK missile launcher". Soon it became clear that all the images were taken on the territory, fully controlled by the Kiev regime forces. Sloppy work by SBU (Ukrainian spy service),

They are even sloppier. They published these photos 2 weeks BEFORE the airliner was shot down. I'll quess they got the wrong memo. https://en.informnapalm.org/the-last-haul-of-the-russian-soldier-to-mh17/

About the interview. A guy claims to be an officer of the Russian special operations forces and blabbering everything about his unit, commanding officers, missions etc. Just one simple question: do you believe that a real commando, if captured, sings like a skylark about everything he knows?

He has spoken face to face with Russian ambassador and phoned his relatives in Russia. Russia has agreed with his military history, but denied that he was in active duty, when he was captured. His wife has given an interview in Russian media, where she claims that his huspand lied her about his job. I'll quess rebels aren't so poor after all, because they can pay to captain his normal salary.

GlobalResearch.ca... uh-huh... you must be desperate

Nah, no problem, read informnapalm or CIA reports. There everything is absolutely clear, just like with WMD before the Iraq invasion, Some people just never learn....

Funny, what's not talked about so far is the US supported coup in Kiev. I guess that info is too sensitive for some. Victoria (#%&k the EU) Nuland handing out cookies is also too sensitive.

From a geopolitical sense, NATO on your doorstep, which they promised they wouldn't, is a game changer. No matter what you think about Putin, and it's obvious that many here are trying to make him the boogyman, and seem to not understand how geopolitics work. Small minds think alike.

especially, if you're a "volunteer" in Ukraine. Traitorous babushkas... this means you! Ask one more time what happened to Ivan and you're off to the gulag!

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

So how many Russian volunteers have died?

@Fizzbit

The massive spy network of the USA has not been able to provide one once of truth to the "Russian troops in Ukraine" as of today.

Why would they provide us anything? Russian "state secret" is partly public information in this point anyway. Google is your friend.

Newsweek (and even Moscow times, before Putin ordered that foreigners can't own the newspaper in Russia) has interviewed Russian army soldiers fighting in Ukraine. Rebel leaders have publicly thanked Russia for their support and Youtube is full of low quality videos of Russian tanks in Ukraine. (And I don't mean resolution. The focus is missing, because these have been shot in secret.)

Everybody who wants to find evidence, has found it. I think you don't.

Putin signed an amendment adding to what Russia classifies as “state secrets” any “information revealing losses of personnel… in peacetime during special operations.

No doubt he did it with his now world famous straight face. But he now seems to be admitting Russian soldiers WERE operating in Ukraine; something he denied for a long time. Probably he will deny it again and state this amendment is not related to the Ukraine. Slippery, very slick.

You're trying so hard. I really feel for you... you'd think with the body bags flowing back to Russia you'd be more upset about that. Perhaps you don't care. It's your affair. But, as for what we all already know, like I said, you're wasting your breath...

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

There's not much need for a debate about Russian troops at this point. The evidence collected covers many different people and organizations from reporters to governments to NGOs. It's also in line with Putin's actions in Crimea.

If Putin wants to tell his people that no Russian soldiers are fighting there, then so be it. It really makes no difference to me.

There's a great article today in HuffPo: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/05/29/russia-kremlin-trolls_n_7468036.html

When Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov was killed in Moscow in late February, the Serbian trolls were quick to react. "Who is to gain from this assassination but America? It must have been CIA," was the dominant mantra that took hold in discussions on Serbian news sites.

and

Serbs receive most of their information about Russia from Moscow-backed media, and the trolls reinforce the Kremlin line. The result is a widespread view in Serbia that the Kiev regime is neo-Nazi and that Putin was right to annex Crimea.

Sounds familiar.... Now you have Putin aligning himself with FIFA and, naturally, it will involve yet another conspiracy theory. They are endless.

You must be kidding! It's informnapalm, it's famous for its fakes! ISIS youtube messages are more reliable then their "scoops". OK, one simple question - these photos were there since last summer. Why nobody pays attention to them?

He has spoken face to face with Russian ambassador and phoned his relatives in Russia

And? Russians said from the beginning that he was a Russian citizen, ended his military contract and fought on the rebels' side on his own. We were talking about special ops forces, remember?

By the way, any comment on the video, posted by badsey3?

Rebels have even more evidence of Western (US, Poland) involvement in fighting on the Kiev regime side. Documents, radio intercepts, tropheys of brand-new US equipment (artillery target acquisition systems etc.) that the regime soldiery just can't handle. Good article about the US strategy in the conflict:

Funny people, those who do not find the presence of Russian troops in Ukraine. Watch the movie: "Crimea - the way home," where Putin tells how "he had decided to send troops to the Crimea."

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

And whats the fuss about? Details of combat deployment (including losses) of special operations forces are classified in any country. Have not seen much information about recent operations and losses, for example, of French commandoes in Africa or Israelis covert operations on Palestinian territories.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Oh yes, we're so much better in our Democratic Republic with all our freedoms. We're SO nice, that we hid the dead troops coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan from the media and cameras and television sets to protect our innocence. Right?

"An AFP photographer"??? Good thing those photographers don't need passes or passports or any other type of identification.

OH the hypocrisy!

Google how dead Soviet soldiers' mothers had an arguably larger role in the demise of the Soviet Union than did Reagan's military buildup to see the cause of Putin's concern.

What's that got to do with the point?

I think it's pretty self-evident. Intelligent people would tend to be able to see the point.

1 Special operation means special forces and no regular soldiers. Regular soldiers are not trained for such operation.

2 Quite normal to keep such things in secret.

3 There are American soldiers in Ukraine. Officially

4 Ukrainan " government " during last year running genocide and war against Russian population of South East

For me it's very strange - lot if people seeking for Russian soldiers in Donbass

But nobody ask "democrats" from Kiev - why are you killing children and women?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

It's quite hilarious the propaganda makina™ is still denying what everyone knows.. of course there were Russian troops, intelligence officers, military equipment and operatives in Ukraine.

Please, you're not fooling anyone. Seriously, stop trying. It really is wasted breath.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

gcbel Of course there were Russian troops, intelligence officers, military equipment and operatives in Ukraine.

I know this is exactly what US propaganda declared whole last year

Unfortunately they can't prove it

Bad luck...

82% approval rating for Putin. EU and western leaders can go suck rocks or lay tiles in the sea . None of them can touch Putin in approval rating or skill as statesman and strategist . Russian troops in Ukraine ? Evidence is not forthcoming , because there is none .
