Jeezus...what an endorsement.

At least Trump is able to call a spade a spade.

"At least Trump is able to call a spade a spade."

The march to racism begins with a single step.

Putin praises Donald Trump as 'bright and talented'

'nuff said

9 ( +13 / -4 )

Trump has repeatedly cited the fact that two appeared — in separate segments — on the same episode of “60 Minutes” as evidence of their bond.

Says it all right there. "Bright and intelligent"... evidence that as straight and steely faced as Putin is... he does have a wicked sense of humor.

You can judge a man by the company he prefers to keep.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

When will Putin be replaced? How many American presidents has he outlasted?

3 ( +9 / -6 )

Whatever you think about the Putin-Trump bromance, that's an awesome photo of Putin!! "I vill crush you and your insignificant rebellion!"

4 ( +6 / -2 )

tweedledumb and tweedledumber

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Thus proving (as if more proof was needed) that Vladie-boy is neither.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

shonanbb, the only way Putin will ever leave the Kremlin is feet first.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

@Graham DeShizo"Thus proving (as if more proof was needed) that Vladie-boy is neither.

Actually "Vladie-boy" is smarter than tons of westerners.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Well, I guess if Putin gives his stamp of approval, then it's worth it's weight in gold.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Actually "Vladie-boy" is smarter than tons of westerners

I hardly think you can make that judgement

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Is this any surprise? Republicans luv Putin.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Putin is good, obviously, he knows won't have much resistance from Trump in a real international political environment...

5 ( +5 / -0 )

"Actually "Vladie-boy" is smarter than tons of westerners."

Yes, he is. He's also a thug.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Trump is brilliant. He is using the media to self promote himself. Think about it, self financed and leading the GOP by double digits for months. Brilliant!

Now to reality, trump is playing a game and winning. He is no more a bigot than most posters here. He is using the emotions of the public to propel himself. He is being controversial intentionally and winning. If he is the nominee his tactics will change.

Trump also has been in a world of his own for decades. The was at the top for decades. He says what's on his mind and in his circle few may correct him. Trump is a charachter and call him stupid, racist, sexist, or bigot....prove it by his historical actions.

Bush and under have no chance. Carson faded, I liked him and donated to his campaign, he went uber religious. Rubio and Cruz are Trumps concern.

Putins praise is damaging. And perhaps a useful tool for the next phase of Trumps campaign if he is the nominee.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

“It’s not our affair to determine his worthiness, that’s a matter for the American voters,”

Putin is laughing his ass off.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

@Jimizo"He's also a thug".

For so-called Islamic State, yes.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Wow, endorsed by Putin! I guess we have a winner. I guess Putin figures that Trump is who he wants to fight WWIII against. Nothing like an interesting challanger.

Pure fantasy and proves when it comes to Hillary supporters, facts are not important. From the defense industry, Hillary tops the list with $95,000 in contributions. That's the stuff of war mongers. Trump was dead last.

He is using the emotions of the public to propel himself. - comment

A band of racists roaring Trump's name is propelling? If your thing is having a band of racists roaring your name. Trump is his own man and racism is his brand. (And you can get a hat and tee-shirt that says so!)

For such a wily manipulator, Trump hasn't looked too far down the tracks. Instead of defining the racism of his campaign as unacceptable, the racism of his campaign is defining him.

But, when you're 69, and a billionaire, there's not much incentive to think about the consequences of your actions. Especially when expressing contempt for anyone who hasn't the sense to join the racists chanting your name and attacking protesters at your rallies.

I think Trump is only the Trumpet here, the Republicans are silently working on their true candidate..... make no mistake.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I think we're looking at a repeat of 1964. Democrats walked away with the election and then within four years there was the war in Vietnam, a huge protest movement, black riots over MLK's assassination, etc., and Richard Nixon, who almost won in 1960, was back in the White House. It would seem that Americans vote against certain parties and candidates as much as their vote for them. But even if he gets the nomination, there's zero possibility of Trump being elected. He's be lucky to get 15% of the vote, if that, carrying Mississippi, Alabama, Arizona and Alaska.

"Republicans luv Putin."

That's hilarious. Does Obama luv Castro?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Mr. Trump is using social media analytics to determine the thoughts, opinions and feelings of the American people. He uses this to confirm his thoughts about America and to make the statements that the media and the professional politicians find so inflammatory. When he makes these statements his opponents trash him, but his poll numbers go up.

Back in 2008, candidate Obama did the same thing by making statements that touched the nerves of the population at large. His opponents tried to trash him, Mrs. Bill Clinton's campaign went so far as to claim he was not an American citizen. The conservatives tried to smear him with his unusual relationships with Bill Ayers and Reverand Wright. None of that stuck. Obama stuck to his message of "hope and change" and his message resonated with the majority of the voters.

Back then, there were even those within the Democrat Party who argued that Obama could not beat the GOP candidate. Sound familiar? Today, there are those in the GOP and the liberal MSM who insist Mr. Trump cannot beat Mrs. Bill Clinton. Those who refuse to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.

They do share a deep connection: Two leaders of a groups with a vastly diminished status, impotently thrashing about for a recovery that will never arrive unless and until they themselves recognize the changed nature of the world and learn to adapt: The Russian Empire and poorly-educated but formerly entitled American white men.

Reminds me of the pact tween Stalin and Hitler. I wouldn't trust either Putin or Trump as far as I could throw them.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Its a hair thing really.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Not surprising. If you've spent any time on the Syrian threads you'll find Republicans practically drooling over Putin. Two peas in a pod.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

In Vladimir Putin’s view, Donald Trump is “bright and talented.”

Putin is a former chief KGB.

He is confident that he can let a hothead Trump dance on his palm of hand. This is not a good sign.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

i like trump too ,he will win

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Putin “does not like Obama at all. He doesn’t respect Obama at all. And I’m sure that Obama doesn’t like him very much,” Trump had said.

Ha-ha . . . this is true. But Trump will be the only one to come out and just say it.

“He says that he wants to move to another, closer level of relations. Can we really not welcome that? Of course we welcome that,” Putin said.

. . but if the russians are still in bed with the mullahs and enhancing Iran's missile program, Trump won't sit well with that. Trump has repeatedly condemned the "Nuclear Deal" with Iran and is still doing so.

So is Mr Ripley, however a short sailing holiday risks being beaten to death with one of the oars.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Putin your killing me here. I have had to defend you on a couple of things but this, this is just too much.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Putin must be so hoping Trump gets nominated and wins the US election. What a world the two of them could build together. :)

1 ( +1 / -0 )

At least Trump is able to call a spade a spade

He called Obama that for years, does not do so any longer.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

This speaks volumes about Putin.

If you ever listen to psychopath-Trump in an interview you are blown away by his stupidity. 'Because I am smart, the best, and the greatest' is his answer to almost everything.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Mr Putin has a better sense of humour than I thought.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Remember, Trump will scorch-earth the Syrian oil fields controlled by ISIS

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I always thought Trump would have a better chance of stabilising the world than Obama and one of the main reasons is simply because he'd get on well with Putin. Russia often has a knife edge type relationship with America and Europe, so if Trump was elected it would be a great start for global peace and security, not to mention helping the prevention of the islamisation of the west. Trump, Farage, Le Pen and Putin working together as one is the way forward.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Be careful ! If Putin is patting you on the back, he is just looking for a soft spot to stab you !

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Rick Shinjuku you are right! Trump and Putin could team up to destroy ISSI and there would be less friction between the US and Russia too. America could control its border like lovely Japan in which we are blessed to live in. Thank god there are still some great conservative's like Abe. Who has the sense to not take in any refugee's. `1

"When will Putin be replaced? How many American presidents has he outlasted?"

I bet Putin outlasts President Trump.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Let's hope Trump doesn't go for the bare-chested horse ride option like Putin did.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Thank god there are still some great conservative's like Abe.

Sorry, is that Takeshi Abe, or Hiroki Abe, or Dave Abe, or...? I can't think of any great conservatives called Abe, although I do know of one utterly useless one who's good for nothing except making nice-sounding platitudes while lining the pockets of a morally bankrupt oligarchy.

Putin praises Donald Trump as 'bright and talented'

So the former head of the KGB likes the Republican front runner? What more evidence do you need that the Republican party has strayed way too far from its roots?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

@Pat Telzrow - Well said Pat! 100% agree with you!

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

serendipitousDEC. 18, 2015 - 10:44PM JST Let's hope Trump doesn't go for the bare-chested horse ride option like Putin did.

Bah you nearly put me off my beer. Ugh. Trump despite his gazillions would clearly trounce MadVlad in a moob contest.
