“Without any doubt, our cooperation with China is bolstering the defense capability of China's army,

That only works for China against you Russia. It's only bolstering the Chinese PLA Navy and Airforce that it works against the U.S.

China is the world's #1 producer of motor vehicles.

Russia has huge reserves of oil and gas.

Both states are run by authoritarians, one 'for life', the other until 2036. Their systems of authoritarian capitalism are similar.

They are a logical pairing, a dream team for climate change deniers and those favoring authoritarianism.

Everyday I dream of these two countries joining together to stop the bully nation.

Indeed so. Putin has finally said it loud and clear.

This is really reassuring for China at the current critical time, notably when war drums are apparently humming over the horizon..

Because Putin refused to rule out a future Russia-China military alliance, Russia cannot be counted as a force to counterpoise China's pressure as hoped for in Vietnam's 2019 Defense White Paper.

Accordingly, Vietnam can decide either to maintain its political dependency on China as it has been since the collapse of Soviet Union in 1991 for vulnerability and anxiety or to abandon Communism and join the QUAD for national security and prosperity.

This is a subtle reminder to its coldwar era friends India and Vietnam of not drifting too close towards the so-called quad.
