A hidden message says the new gas pipeline could quickly be shut off to EU. Nobody is saying it will happen, just a possibility. The calendar predicts a cold winter. in the EU; -11 C by the end of January in some countries.

“They may put anything there under the guise of training centers." Putin said.

Putin, the ex-KGB operative knows full well about stationing troops "in the guise of". And now that he holds the keys to Russia's oil and gas pumps knows how to leverage power.

Ah yes, Mother Russia’s 3 exports, LNG, vodka and endemic corruption.

While we are once again energy dependent on the people that liberals hate for us to even have a relationship with and now to add insult to injury they want us to rely on China for their new green energy and renewable energy??? Just crazy!

Who is your 'us' today? Your Russia will continue to burn oil ands gas until long after all its methane has been released.

Who is your 'us' today? Your Russia

Not my Russia, focus on the real enemy, your China…

will continue to burn oil ands gas until long after all its methane has been released.

So you’re saying to create green energy we need to pollute the world more and in the process become more dependent on China? Why? It doesn’t help America, not one bit.

I do not understand your comment?

Are you saying America is energy-dependent on "the people that liberals hate for us to have a relationship with"

Which people?

America to reply on China for their new green energy and renewable energy. Are they building an undersea power cable?

Probably you need more wind turbines in Texas?

I do not understand your comment?

I don’t understand most liberals political rationale

Are you saying America is energy-dependent on "the people that liberals hate for us to have a relationship with"

No, we were energy independent until this administration made us energy dependent once again on the very people that hate us

America to reply on China for their new green energy and renewable energy.

You meant “rely” on China, but yes.

Probably you need more wind turbines in Texas?

No.

@GdTokyo

Ah yes, Mother Russia’s 3 exports, LNG, vodka and endemic corruption

No need to export corruption, local markets are saturated with local production.

And it is pipeline gas, not LNG. For the U.S. LNG is a major export, particularly to China. Highly principled, highly moral policy in action - thriving trade with the confirmed enemy number one.

@ PTownsend

Russia will continue to burn oil ands gas until long after all its methane has been released

Meanwhile Europe can become a shining example and can stop burning nasty gas and oil and warm itself through the winter with solar panels and windmills.

That is not an answer. A question with a question. I am trying to understand your comment.

No, we were energy independent until this administration made us energy dependent once again on the very people that hate us

Which people hate you? No changes from Biden on energy.

America to reply on China for their new green energy and renewable energy.

You meant “rely” on China, but yes.

How is America relying on Chinese energy?

Probably you need more wind turbines in Texas?

No.

Producing 16% of electricity. Could double that.

Zichi, no changes from Biden on energy? He killed the Keystone pipeline. He stopped granting leases to find energy on federal lands. His advisors on energy are a pack of green zealots. He has managed to make the US once again beholden to foreign countries for energy, begging OPEC to increase production.

The US has energy resources. Canada is a huge potential supplier, a friendly country. Much better than giving money to the head hackers and homophobes in the Middle East.

He did not kill the Keystone pipeline. He cancelled permission to construct it on federal lands. There are still other pipelines. Transporting oil from Canada is not difficult.

The United States became a net annual petroleum exporter in 2020

"Our Petroleum Supply Monthly trade data show that the United States exported more crude oil and petroleum products than it imported during the first half of 2021 by 120,000 barrels per day (b/d), or less than 1% of combined crude oil and petroleum product exports and imports."

Yes you are correct, Petroleum, not LNG. Apologies. The metaphor still holds. As John McCain aptly put it, Russia is a gas stand masquerading as a country.

And you sell Putin short. When it comes to endemic government corruption, he is in a league of his own. So much so that people who point it out tend to end up dead.

That is not an answer.

Yes, it was! You just didn’t like the answer.

No changes from Biden on energy.

Except we are getting it from the people that hate us.

Probably not. This is why I love Texas.

Zichi, cancelling permission and killing it are the same. As for transporting oil, pipelines are by far the most efficient and cost effective way. Would you rather see a thousand or two more trucks carrying oil on the highways every day? Now what about cancelling new contracts to find energy, or appointing zealots to powerful positions...

As for the US becoming an exporter, that is true. You can thank President Trump for that. At least in petroleum products. But for other forms of energy, still some work to do.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

You have said before that you think it is good that the US is a boot-licker of Saudi Arabia.

A pretty fair point that will likely not be addressed.

America has its own deposits of rare-earth minerals.

Bass,

Remember when the entire power grid of your home state failed and people literally froze to death? Did you love that part?

How about when the government incorrectly blamed it on green energy? Wasn’t that great?

Oh, I bet you loved the part where neighboring states had surplus power but Texas used a different grid. Wasn’t that part wonderful?

And best of all, in the middle of peoples’ suffering Raphael Theodore decided to high-tail it to (where else?) Mexico! Profiles in courage from the “great” state of Texas!

No Biden did not cancel the construction, the company did that. They could have changed the route. Oil from Canada can be transported by rail. Pipelines are not free of problems and there have been several serious major accidents.

The American motor industry is planning to move away from using fossil fuels. Some by 2025.

As for the US becoming an exporter, that is true. You can thank President Trump for that. At least in petroleum products. But for other forms of energy, still some work to do.

Then you have contradicted yourself.

Biden is investing in renewable energies which is a postive.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

America has its own deposits of rare-earth minerals

True, but like with fossil fuel the environmentalists won’t let us tap into that, so that means we need to go to another that hates us and be dependent on them.

Remember when the entire power grid of your home state failed and people literally froze to death?

Yup, this is what happens when you let the left talk you into crap like this, but that won’t happen again like the article states.

!

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Yeah, just reroute the pipeline. No problem. /s

Yes oil can be transported by rail, again it is more dangerous and expensive than a pipeline. But that's ok. If the US doesn't want to take advantage of the resources next door, I am sure that another country would love to. If you would rather buy oil from OPEC, again that's on the US government.

Biden isn't "investing in renewable energies". It isn't HIS money he is spending. He is spending billions of taxpayer dollars on it. A waste. Renewable energy will happen, no doubt. Private industry can take care of financing the research. Until then, fossil fuels are necessary.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Yep, America had a pipeline once.

Now we have $3.34 gas instead of $2 gas (but no mean tweets!)

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Oh, this is making Germany mad!

Remember the German Green Party? Part of what is supposed to be a planned three-party ruling coalition that could start governing Germany as soon as early December?

Annalena Baerbock, the Green's Chancellor candidate in the last federal election took to the airwaves today and said the commissioning of the Nord Stream 2 gas project should be put on hold for the time being, because of Moscow's “game of poker” and “downward” gas deliveries. With a view to the high energy prices, the co-boss of the Greens said, "We mustn't allow ourselves to be blackmailed." She also said, “This is likely to have been brought about by the Russian side in order to force the rapid commissioning of Nord Stream 2 - even if not all legal requirements have yet been met.”

Even the German Institute for Economic Research - normally an unexcitable group of accountants and economists - said today that there was "a clear interest on the Russian side" in reducing gas supplies in order to accelerate the commissioning of Nord Stream 2. Claudia Kemfert with the Institute said, “It was said that with the commissioning of Nord Stream 2, more gas could flow to Europe.” "This gives the impression that one wants to drive up the prices on the European natural gas market artificially in order to at least increase the pressure that Nord Stream 2 will be completed quickly."

Not correct. The minerals are being extracted. But at higher costs than the Chinese ones. You have oil wells all over the show. You don't need anymore.

Biden is making policy to invest in renewables just like many other countries. But I guess you won't give up coal without a fight.

Blacklabel

What happened to them? Oil prices across the globe are high at the moment, not just in America. But you buy Japanese gas not American so there is no "we".

2 ( +2 / -0 )

@GdTokyo

Apologies accepted.

McCain?? Oh my, this intellectual giant... Well, please tell me what would NASA do without rocket engines it buys from this gas stand? Why not to make the engines in the U.S? And if Russia is so insignificant, why the U.S. asked for a summit between Putin and Biden in June? I was an American initiative.

When it comes to endemic government corruption, he is in a league of his own

Facts? Just don't say emphatically "Pandora files" or something. Simply name Putin's accounts, yachts, villas, football teams, anything. And why no Western country ever confiscated any Putin's ill-earned spoils?
