Sheer numbers and Russian winters.
Not quite.

I wonder what these guys did to piss off Vladdy-kun enough to sell them out.
Ah_so
Thereis no value in killing him when he is in jail. The value is seeing him released and settled in another country and then bumping him off. Revenge is a dish best served cold and Mother Russia never forgives or forgets traitors. A good lesson to anyone thinking of erring.
Sometimes his opponents mysteriously hang themselves or have accidents. Other times it is palonium 2-10 or nerve agents. But the life expectancy of an opponent or traitor of Russia abroad is very short.
And in the real world people do not commit murder to deflect attention from Brexit. Even if that had been attention, it didn't work.
Theresa May may be a lot of things, but I do think she commits murder to try to wriggle out of a short-term political fix. And nor would the secret services wish to risk their own lives and liberty on such a madcap scheme.
You really have to see through the baloney being pumped out by the Russian troll stations. Talking of which, it is about this time of day that JT gets a smattering of posts from a poster who only post pro-Russia and pro-Trump comments. It will probably have started by the time I click Save.
Ah_so
No. They will not disappear. They knew when they took the job that they were never going to be able to leave Russia again, but they would be rewarded.
Putim will parade them and declare their innocence - they were probably just looking for work or visiting a friend in Swindon - while he knows that the the world knows they did and the world knows that Put in knows.
It is implausible deniabilty - the act of not just doing wrong, but doing it in a rather dramatic fashion and then denying all knowledge.
This is the greater display of power rather than just have someone fall under a bus.
lostrune2
Let's see who these 2 people that Russia found - hopefully they're not just using the names when they were looking (the names could just be aliases)
Then let them have their day in court
Asakaze
@ClippetyClop
For resistance to the police. What happens in U.K. to anybody who resists the police? In the U.S. cops shoot such individuals on the spot, about 900 per year.
Will Russia risk a full confrontation with the U.K. for a very questionable pleasure of killing a useless traitor it could have killed years ago when he was in jail? That would be extremely illogical and plain stupid. Then who? Answer: U.K. False flag operation by MI-5 to deflect attention from Brexit imbroglio and less then substandard performance of Theresa Mayday-Mayday, to whip up unity among the West to confront Russia.
Whoa, I thought the Western propaganda machine forgot about it. OK, question: why the Netherlands still so secretive about the investigation of the tragedy? Why not to make it as open as possible? Because the plane was shot down by the forces of the West-installed Ukrainian neonazi regime, and the Dutch are very reluctant to say it (NATO unity).
Seriously, you have problems with attention. My post with a part about Blair, you missed the next: "About kidnaps etc. Can you provide facts? I mean facts, not media speculations".
@Laguna
I think you are for a big surprise. I think these two guys are alive, they'll appear on TV and say something very different from all the spy nonsense we heard from the U.K. government.
Laguna
Asakaze, I retract my above statement.
It's not that these two men can no longer leave Russia; it's that they are dead. Putin no longer needs them; in fact, their existence is a burden to him. They will be disappeared.
ClippetyClop
Yes, I'm sure Navalny enjoys his free life being thrown in jail for a month (just before the elections) for attending a Putin protest. Russians never were comfortable with non-authoritarian regimes.
Hysteria indeed. Who would ever think of killing a Russian traitor with Russian plod with a Russian nerve agent? Answer: Russia.. when they aren't blowing passenger planes out of the skies that is.
"went to Salisbury where the duo had their faces filmed by every CCTV in the town, and then the killers completely failed in their supposedly main mission - to kill Skripal."
Help me here. What am I looking for on line 3?
japan4life
Why is there no explanation from the British Govt. as to how the Skripal's survived the most deadly chemical agent in the world and why are they not being allowed to tell their miraculous survival story? Why has their been no investigation into what activities Sergei Skripal was involved in since he came to the U.K.?
Asakaze
Yes, they run against him, were defeated in elections, now they are alive and well and continue to enjoy their lives. What's your point?
Some speeches by May, Johnson and several others. Particularly entertaining was some session in parlament I saw on TV. Something between Shaekspearean tragedy and a mental asylum.
Evidence of Russian guilt, please?
Read again, more attentievely this time, my previous post. Third line.
ClippetyClop
Unlike the people who chose to run against Vlad.
Evidence of hysteria please.
A bit quiet on the kidnaps, tortures and murders part though aren't you eh!
Asakaze
@1glenn
And British prime ministers never lie! No, no! Ask Blair about another hoax, "Saddam's WMD". Only that asks for another Nuremberg trial.
About kidnaps etc. Can you provide facts? I mean facts, not media speculations.
@Laguna
Interesting theory. How do you imagine the training not to be affected by "the most lethal poison in the world, worse then VX"? And what about the people who stayed in the room after the "killers", they also were trained?
And this is the reason why the Russians managed to defeat Napoleon and Hitler and now they are successfully competing with the West?
@Scrote
All elections in Russia were free, there were a lot of accounts in Western MSM on that, even they had to admit the obvious - Putin is very popular in his country. It's bewildering how some people refuse to admit facts that do not fit in their picture of the world.
@lostrune2
Good idea. But the problem is that the British do not want a trial, they demand the Russians just to admit the accusations, and when the Russians ask to show evidence the Brits go hysterical.
commanteer
Really? Debunk it then. (Saying they weren't in the same spot isn't enough. The identical time and position, even if not the same spot, is an extremely unlikely coincidence. Especially as the powers that be are aching for war with Russia, and the sheep are gobbling it up.)
HonestDictator
Putin's trying to make the rest of the world believe him and his government is "credible". LOLOLOLOLOLOL. Korrupt Putin and korrupt Kremlin....
lostrune2
Let it be decided inside a court of law - then we'll see where the evidence lay
CrazyJoe
Yup, they were "ordinary citizens" who on a three-day visit to the UK traveled twice to Salisbury, flying back to Moscow late on the day of the poisoning.
Sounds legit!
Scrote
They poisoned and killed Alexander Litvinenko. Also many other opponents of Putin have died in mysterious circumstances. Why wouldn't they poison the Skripals too?
Putin is a nasty piece of work who, despite his attempts at portraying a manly disposition, is too scared to allow free elections in Russia.
Strangerland
Daaaaamn, is Vlad selling his boys down the river? Sounds like a great boss.
Although he could just be intending to sacrifice two random guys.
Laguna
Asakaze, that is a good question. Perhaps it was because they were trained with the poison and nothing else, which means it comes down to their bosses. Russian overlords have never been known for their intelligence.
mrtinjp
Britain and more than two dozen other countries expelled a total of 150 Russian spies working under diplomatic cover
And how did these countries know who were the diplomats and who were the spies, and if they already knew, what were the waiting for. This is something which was planned in advanced..a hegelian dialectic styled plan..wonder what was the primary objective.
nandakandamanda
Finally admitting that these two do actually exist is one step in the right direction. One day the whole story will come out, I feel sure, but maybe not in our lifetimes.
paradoxbox
I wonder which unlucky individuals from the Siberian countryside were selected to be suspects this time.
1glenn
Putin never lies, or for that matter, kidnaps, tortures, and murders, does he?
Asakaze
OK, let's see the facts. Two "highly-trained killers" arrived in U.K from Moscow and returned to Moscow with Russian passports (wow, what a great way to conceal their identity!!), went to Salisbury where the duo had their faces filmed by every CCTV in the town, and then the killers completely failed in their supposedly main mission - to kill Skripal. Besides, the hapless killers did their nefarious preparations with the "most lethal nerve agent in the world" in a hotel room without any protective gear, and they were kind enough to leave a poisonous bottle to be found by the police. Why the killers are still alive, not poisoned on the spot by their own stupidity? Why nobody who stayed in this room from March did not show a slightest sign of poisoning? And the question to everyone in his right mind and not under influence of banned substances: what kind of mentally challenged personality would believe this "Skripal poisoning" hoax?
Laguna
Yeah. Go to some media outlet. Just never leave Russia again, or you'll be arrested and never go back.
Alex Einz
UK gone mad... May will do anything to divert attention but its unlikely to work.., simply because more and more people stopped believing the idiotism media feeds them and started to do their own thinking., based on factual evidence.
It makes absolutely zero sense for Russia to poison not one but two people, with agent that could be linked to Russia , botch it while it could easily be done in a cell or in Russia and would be much easily done with any conventional weapon.
The whole UK investigation has absolutely nill evidence ... and most other countries stopped believing it.
In addition, it somehow also happened just near by UK chemical warfare plant.. that also has samples of novichok in possession...
If UK has any concrete evidence, or testimony for motive ( both victims are alive and well so they must have ) they should be fully and openly releasing it , making Russia answer... but they dont and the whole thing is just a fake political game that has been going for too long and they simply dont know how to get themselves out without losing face.
Kaerimashita
Just innocent tourists who went to UK to visit the tourist hotspot that is Salisbury twice in 3 days.
Madverts
That's the conspiracy theory being peddled on Putin FM and every other single Russian media outlet controlled by the head of the Russian mafia, Vladimir Putin.
It's long debunked.
Madverts
Cheers for that. I personally think it is reasonable to demand action against the Russian state to make them cease their increasingly malign behaviour. Even a leftist feminist radical Guardian reader shouldn't consider this position as hate speech. Each to his own.

Could be, you never know.

Since Trump believed the Russians over his own intelligence agencies, certainly we can too.

Check out the evidence. CCTV showed both men at exactly same place at exactly the same time. Photoshop? Exact same spot.
