In 2021, Biden said he thought Putin a killer. Putin said Biden phoned him later to give an explanation of why he used such words.
I wish someone had recorded that call - I and many others would love to know how Biden smoothed the Kremlin killer's ruffled feathers. Maybe, it went something like, "Dobry den, Volodya! Don't worry, we are all killers, as my predecessor, that lying durak who is a big fan of your methods and can't keep his mouth shut, once blurted out on TV. Everybody knows this anyway, but, luckily for you and me, what can they do?

We don’t all know this. It flies in the face of reality over the past two decades.
When did Russia seize the Crimea? Make incursions into Georgia? Get involved in Syria? Invade the Donbass? Putin has been most militaristic and expansionist during the Obama and Biden presidencies. During the Trump years, Russia sat still.
Putin does not need Trump whatsoever to continue invading Ukraine. He’s done fine with Biden. Russia is in a proxy war with NATO, and Biden is bleeding American and allied nations of military supplies and money, all while failing to end the war or advance the war in Ukraine’s direction.
Biden is best for Putin. That’s a wry, but honest remark. Biden makes Putin look young, vigorous, and capable. Biden’s corrupt inner circle allows Putin to use intelligence services to destabilize American politics. Biden’s half actions militarily give Putin all the maneuver room in the world to slowly eat up Ukraine. Were Trump able to force an immediate peace, Russia’s gains would be substantial, but limited to what Russia occupies now. Give Putin four more years of Biden, and all of Ukraine is likely to be gone.

Putin is a master of information warfare. He knows the US is on the backfoot, and with his friends Iran and NK providing him with missiles and munitions, he knows he can press his advantage in Ukraine and there is nothing Biden can do while his hands are tied by house republicans. He doesn't care who is President, although I'm sure he could manipulate Trump easily. He just cares the US is divided over foreign policy, which it very much is. A weakened US and NATO alliance is his goal.

Putin tried and failed to smear Joe via Smirnov, begged and failed to stop Joe supplying weapons to Kiev that prevents him conquering Ukraine. It's quite clear that he'd love Trump licking his boots than Joe spitting on them.

Why invade when Trump was in? Trump is largely sympathetic to Russian foreign policy preferences particularly with regard to the former Warsaw Pact. Totally self defeating to launch an invasion while the US was led by a Pres who already held NATO in disdain.

Sorry but I think you forgot to factor in what Russia and her allied partners have bled in military supplies, money and flesh and blood in it's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. The losses are estimated to include more than 3,000 armoured fighting vehicles in the past year alone and close to 8,800 since February 2022. Other mechanized equipment, artillery units, jets, helicopters, transport and bomber aircraft, ships (30% of the Black Sea fleet), and lets not forget the nearly 400,000 deceased Russian boys who will never return home! Then what her allies like Armenia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Chenchnia, China, Iran, Syria, and her African friends have lost who have either sent or supported their own boys to go off and fight a war in Ukraine as Putin is hesitant to force Muscovites or those so-called pure Russians for fear the masses will turn on him!
What you seem to forget is America or as you frame it Biden, is not bleeding its military, it is using the money to create new weapons to replace the aging equipment it's sending to Ukraine! The Abrams, the Bradleys, the M777 howitzers, the Humvee's, etc... are earlier models which were refurbished in American factories. The donated F-16's from Ukraine's allies are being replaced with American F-35 fighters and who's building those replacements, AMERICA!
And lets not forget what Putin has done for the Russian economy which is being decimated! Putin's days are numbered and it's only a matter of time before karma strikes and someone spikes his drink and he is replaced, a Russian tradition, a Black Swan event!
