Hmm. I don't think celebrities should get in involved.

Mrs Windsor is stating the obvious. I hope those people voting do consider everything carefully.
Please do also consider getting rid of this anachronism post independence.
Elizabeth Heath
The Queen was answering a political question in the most neutral way possible. She couldn't say anything else.
John Galt
Yes, think carefully, then give the English monarchy the boot! Long overdue. Will it be easy going? No. Will there be obstacles to overcome? Yes. The Kingdom will just be a wee bit smaller.

This from the Independent:
'Earlier this month, a YouGov poll suggested 54% of Scots favour keeping the monarchy if Scotland votes "Yes", compared with 39% who would like to see it scrapped. Among SNP voters this narrows to 46% compared with 39%, though the survey had a smaller sample size.'
Some Scottish aristocrats are worried about the taxes they'll pay on their estates if Scotland gains independence. Bless the poor things.

Wise advice - and she showed perfect judgement in saying no more than that.

A request to those Scots who favor independence:
Why?

Jimizo, you say:

Would you by any chance be thinking of the owner of the Balmoral estate?

Actually, it's a good thing that she wasn't talking to Yes supporters when she made her private comments. They'd have probably made up some lies and then told the world that the Queen "hates Scotland".
When you ask a legitimate question on a serious topic and Alex Salmond refuses to answer (as he seems to have done throughout the campaign) then next day you'll have a crowd of idiots outside your office calling you a liar and asking your employers to sack you.
Is that the kind of Scotland most Yes voters really want?

@John Galt. Actually, it's the Scottish monarchy. The thrones of Scotland and England joined more than 100 years before political union took place. Staggering ignorance over the issue, yet everyone thinks they are an expert.

Still waiting for an explanation for a Yes vote. So far, here is the best one out there I've seen:

No subtext what.so.ever.
Good job she didn't say the downright subjective, "one supports the Scottish people no matter how they vote."

Come on Scotland! Time to oust this archaic Monarchy. I wish the rest of us did away with our Governor Generals and this silliness. Emperors, Queens, Popes, and witch doctors all share the same line - con-artists.
