I'd love to hear a news story where a team of specially created islamic special forces take out a bunch of lunatic jihadists. Seems to me that not enough is being done in the Islamic circles to defeat this threat from within. I don't know…maybe they are and we just don't hear about it??? If so…why don't we??

We need the leaders of the Islamic nations to meet and show they are united against this threat. It really is becoming a huge problem now and everyone is at risk…muslim and "infidel"

bass: We could build camps

Concentration or internment?

Honestly, you should start blogging for ISIS. They could take your comments about putting Muslims into camps and requiring Christian classes in public schools and they'd probably put you on the front page of their propaganda publications.

But no time to think about that now. Do prefer barbed wire or razor wire for the camp fences?

Religious extremism is a form of insanity. Touch wood the authorities will overpower these insane gunmen, bring them to swift justice, and the hostages will be set safe.

At the same time, find the thugs who financed this and all the criminals standing to profit from it.

"men shouting “God is great"

Then, they should just point their guns to their own heads, pull the triggers and meet their maker.

globalwatcher: Are we, Americans, still opening a door to Syrian, Iraq, and Afgan refugees who are with no security papers?

I know my words won't have much of an impact here, so could a Republican pull this guy aside and tell him that he's way off the mark? Can you guys police your own, please?

How do we handle these Jihad. I do not want to turn the US soil to the "Killing Field" like this. No thanks!!

The killing fields are the mass shootings that happen in America montly, to which the right says, "We're not gonna change a damn thing." But 129 people get killed in Paris and you want to rewrite immigration laws, your bubble leaders are talking about religious tests, some want outright bans on Muslims from certain countries.

Because we gotta be safe.

islam in its very natural and unevolving form. danger and deceit in its very disguise.

Fanatical Muslims proving once again that their primary pillar of worship is murder of and destruction. Murder and destruction on it's own is incomprehensible enough. Murder and destruction in the name of hocus pocus and irrational beliefs is absolutely the definition of madness.

And that goes for all religions.

Has nothing to do with radical Islam, you are conflating the issue.

" But 129 people get killed in Paris and you want to rewrite immigration laws, your bubble leaders are talking about religious tests, some want outright bans on Muslims from certain countries.

If necessary in order to keep the country safe from a group that wants to kill you, seems very reasonable to me.

Because we gotta be safe.

Exactly.

No they aren't, they just don't report that news in the bubble: http://time.com/4112830/muslims-paris-terror-attacks-islam-condemn/

That's not enough. Of course you will have Muslims that will condemn the attacks, but I am talking about a non-stop barrage of continuous outreach, condemnation, protests, getting on EVERY TV network and speak out, getting every Cleric to speak out in all the mosques that what they are are doing and that hate is wrong. Clerics should visit priests and hold conferences that they are not at war with the West or with Christians, every willing and able-bodied person should be out there the way Blacks were in the 60s for racial equality, there needs to be a worldwide movement of Muslims to speak out agains the evils or radical Islam and the Jihad they are waging.

You will NEVER see that happening and until that happens, there will never be an end to this. It all starts with the moderates and they are for the most part and will remain silent.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Oh the reaction is telling. You will fight tooth and nail to support policies that will kill hundreds of thousands of Americans over the next decade,

No, quite the opposite, I wouldn't allow PC to get in the way of what the real issue is and that is radical Islam and how to avoid being a target and being aware and vigilant. So yes, for the safety of Americans, I would fight with EVERY fiber in my being because I care.

but when the though of a Muslim refugee shooting up the place here, which is extremely unlikely,

Well, we won't know, we already do know that ISIS said, themselves that they will plant Jihadists among the refugees and that that one of the terrorist in last weeks Paris shooting came in with the refugees through Greece, so I would be overly cautious, you are right about that.

you basically go into "safety" mode and want to ban all Muslims.

I would take my time to thoroughly do a very serious background check, however long it takes. We could build camps near the White House or somewhere in the Utah, a camp where we can house these refugees give them all the food and aid they can get and once they have been thoroughly screened and there are NO doubts about them being a safety threat, then we can allow them in, but they should always be monitored. So yes, I would let them in but with serious conditions and restrictions.

Why not ban all gun nutters?

When they wage a Jihad against all Americans and go around the world spreading praise for the NRA, then we can talk about that, until then, we deal with them like we always have in the past. By the way, libs trying to wedge in the gun debate into the Islamic debacle makes liberals look really stupid and reaching, just as a tip of advice, leave that argument alone, it doesn't help.

You'll be saving many more lives and as far as I can tell safety is your main concern, so...

We are talking about radical Islam, in fact, I hope more Americans purchase firearms as a result of this.

Every news agency is giving a different account. One says 3 dead, another says 19, another says 30 plus. Then some say the men were screaming in Arabic and others say local tribe dialect. Anyways I getting kind of worried that this is going to become a competition between ISIS and al Qaeda and many innocent lives are going to be lost in the process.

My take is always liberal as you know except this one as I know the fact we cannot kill ideology of Jihad. I am with Senetor Diane Fernstein of California (D). We cannot accept these refugees as they do not have security clearance papers. I do not think we cannot afford to take a risk to turn our land to the Killing Field. There are over 750,000 refugees currently in Germany without any long term plan. They cannot send these refugees back where they came from. Some of them are coming to the US.

"....making recruitment that much easier. Way to help ISIS guys."

Quite a few analysts are now saying ISIS is in trouble, having lost around 25 percent of its territory due to the coalition bombing, etc. My bet is that recruitment is going to get tougher, when it's found out that life in the shrinking caliphate is turning out to be anything but paradise.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

As predicted, Paris' carnage was just the beginning and more to come. ISIS, Al Qaeda, Boko H...all are under banner of extremist radical Islam who are trying to copy the model of early Muhammadan forces in conquering the 7 century A.D. Arabia. A distinct factor is the sideline (or moderate!) Muslims are everywhere. Bombing alone will not root out the Allah soldiers, rather a total reform within religion is much needed for modern civilization. Judea- Christian has been scrutinized for hundred years, and they survive. The problem is that an objective of scholarly to Islam is not much welcome and permitted. Most parts of the world are sold to this idea of Political Correctness and being deceived into turmoil without ending. How many more normal civilians death before the WAKE UP call of this nonsensical terrors?

politicians imploring "God Bless ***"

Good grief.

It really doesn't matter how many peaceful Muslims there are, because they're not the ones doing this. Likewise it doesn't matter what the peaceful Muslims think about the extremists because the extremists don't care what they think.

In the eyes of these Wahhabi inspired zealots any Muslim that disagrees with them is a false muslim and deserves the same treatment as any kufar.

"after all, we don't know if its not a bunch of fanatical christians, buddhists, hindus, or atheists yet."

Hahahaha!!!!! I fell off my seat reading that one.

….and rightly so. Never heard of an atheist, mormon, christian or buddhist bombing recently.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

If moderate muslims were to clearly voice their opposition to all this violence done in the name of their religion, demonstrate in the streets and speak out loudly, then perhaps we could be persuaded that there might be peaceful elements to Islam. But so far the silence has been deafening.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

the peace loving Muslims are completely silent on this

Good luck with that one, clueless.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

It's most politically incorrect of you to mention that they are Muslims....

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Heavily armed Islamic extremists?? Again??? No!! But Islam is the religion of peace! Tsk Tsk Tsk. Must be a propaganda. :P

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

With everyone of these attacks, the anti-Muslim rhetoric increases. And each time it goes up, ISIS gets a little further in their goal of driving a wedge between Muslims and the rest of the world, making recruitment that much easier.

Way to help ISIS guys.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

And with each innocent that gets bombed in the fight against ISIS, they create another 20 possible recruits out of their family/friends. That's what people don't get - you can bomb and kill ISIS, but you cannot bomb and kill hatred, the bombs only increase hatred. In the destruction of ISIS, they just create the hatred that will form the basis of the next group.

It's like trying to bomb a virus out of existence.

Actually, more likely the ISIS psychos are laughing and depending on the inordinate number of muslim apologists in the west who keep saying any reaction is just playing into the hands of ISIS.

Thats cause in places like Mecca and Medina- islam's Vatican- will persecute them with their network of rogue islamic extremists.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Right, we can't call them Muslims. Right...

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

By the way, libs trying to wedge in the gun debate into the Islamic debacle makes liberals look really stupid

Glad you pointed that out Bass. Yeah, it is stupid. But of course they say the same thing about us when we criticize the administration's policy of allowing islamic refugees into the US, who might be potential threats / lone wolves.

These are the same apples when discussing the Islamic debacle. The "gun debate" isn't even in the same ball park.

uh-huh. And what about the other Imams?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Anybody who goes to Mali must have a death wish.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Islamists have killed more innocent people in the world? Well, what a shock! Rest in Peace to the poor victims.

It really is high time to round up islamists and cleanse the world entirely of them, whatever rocks they are hiding under. Sadly, it is very hard to exterminate all cockroaches.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Yeah, but there are peaceful muslims aren't there? Not all of them are whacked out of their minds. . . . in fact, I heard islam is a warm and peace-loving religion.

Yes, so we keep hearing.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

That's the problem, the peace loving Muslims are completely silent on this

Yeah Bass, nations like Indonesia, Saudi, Jordan, UAE . . . . maybe even a few Palestinian leaders should condone these attacks (Paris, Mali, Nigeria, Beirut. . . Etc). But even those, Muslims, are afraid to speak up on worldwide media.

No wonder why blood begets blood in radical islam.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Yeah, but there are peaceful muslims aren't there? Not all of them are whacked out of their minds. . . . in fact, I heard islam is a warm and peace-loving religion.

That's the problem, the peace loving Muslims are completely silent on this and those are the people that can really change the perception of the religion, but they don't and that notion that Islam is a religion of peace will only get laughed out of the room from the general population and Sharia far less.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Are we, Americans, still opening a door to Syrian, Iraq, and Afgan refugees who are with no security papers?

But Obama says it's OK. He would even invite them to the White House if they build a cool clock. We must trust him.

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

Now hold on there! Lets reserve judgement for the time being - after all, we don't know if its not a bunch of fanatical christians, buddhists, hindus, or atheists yet. I didn't mention the M word once!

At the same time, find the thugs who financed this and all the criminals standing to profit from it.

Yeah, & while you're at it, block the refugees / asylum seekeres who shout "God is Great", who were invited by the obama administration.

It was not immediately clear which Muslim extremist groups might be behind the attack

Does it matter? Boko Haram is allied to ISIS. So other terrorists from Africa shouting, "God is Great" and executing innocent people who cannot recite passages from the Koran might be as well.

It really is high time to round up islamists and cleanse the world entirely of them

Yeah, but there are peaceful muslims aren't there? Not all of them are whacked out of their minds. . . . in fact, I heard islam is a warm and peace-loving religion.
