Well, the good news is that it has rained. The bad news is that the rains have swept across parched land and the rivers are now thick with ash. Hundreds of thousands of fish have died and it is thought that the rivers may take decades, if ever, to recover.
Check it out here. This is the real affects of climate change:

Do the hustle
Yes, there has been one incidence of fish kill due to a lack of oxygen in the water from ash. However, the above post makes it sound like a national catastrophe.
The rain has helped the firefighters, but it’s only a small respite. The drought still remains the major issue. Due to the ground being so dry and hard most of the rainwater is just running off into the streams and carrying a lot of soil with it, which ends up clogging rivers and filling sand with silt. Australia needs at least two weeks of soaking rain to make any kind of impact. Then, it needs regular rains after that.

"Australia...needs regular rains after that..."
Well, it is the second driest place on earth {after Antarctica } and I cant see that changing anytime soon.
Actually, the fish kills are affecting entire river systems in NSW, so not a minor, "she'll be right, mate " thing.
Sadly, the areas of most intense fire have also been the only areas where prior sightings of some endangered animals live.
Everything still pretty crappy but we'll take the rain thankyou .

"The unprecedented fires, fuelled by climate change and..."
Certainly, it has nothing to do with prohibitions against clearing underbrush under threat of heavy fines and a number of activists that have been arrested for arson. Let it rain. Mother Nature has a way about her.

No, it can't. The scripture clearly says so. Don´t be a denier!
