India is not safe for women visitors, especially for naive young women who travels alone. Do not let your guard down if you have to go there. In fact, don't go there at all.

Rape crime is happening every hour in India. Now India is world rapist country. I think female tourist shouldn't go alone or India is no safe place for female even go with male partner. Government must educate Indian men about sex crime. The Indian men seem to be lost their mind when they saw female. It's national shame for India.

Now in light of recent news she begins to doubt whether she could ever go back.

plenty of women have hailed taxis off the street, stayed in obscure hotels (hostels) and gone out after dark in thailand, singapore, hong kong, china, japan, south korea. basically, east asia is safer than south asia.

Back in 1990s, India was poorer and more backward however it is safer and more innocent. Bollywood movies have stricter censorships. Now a days, many Bollywood movies are very westernized and Freshy and Sexy. That greedy movies makers are responsible for making INDIA as Champion of the Rape.
